 + 1 moreIt took them way too long to finish with a lot of initial promises that just weren't true. My husband had to go to their office and confront them before they would give any estimate of how much longer. The owner of the company kept threatening to put liens on our property after we requested money to redo the paint job and fix some of their crappy work. They tried to blame us when they cancelled an insurance/mortgage company inspection that we were waiting on to get insurance reimbursement.
Description of Work: A tree fell on and damaged our home. It essentially damaged 2 rooms. It took them 6 months to do the repair work. There would be weeks that there would be no one at the house. Their excuse is that "it was not cost effective to have a crew there every day." However I'm pretty sure that if they had scheduled their materials to all be there they could have probably gotten the work done in less than a month. They broke the shelf in my refrigerator and never replaced it. The paint job had patches where there was no paint. I felt that some of their workers had no respect for our home the way they threw my curtains in the kitchen from the living room, did not reapply all the outlet covers, lost pieces to my ironing board,most of my trashcans were missing,the shelf in the refrigerator broken,lost blinds in one room and both of my step stools are missing but not damaged out as they should have been. One particular employee who came in to clean was just plain rude.

They paid attention to the details. They took about a week to respond to come and give the estimate. They were knowledgeable. I would consider getting a quote in the future from them.
Description of Work: I used United Services three months ago to get an estimate. They quoted me $17000 for fire damage illustration.

 + 0 moreI did not chose them due to their contract being hard to read and very difficult to understand. They also stated that workers would be out at different times, it seems like they do not take a job from start to finish. They were available for the estimate two days after I called.
Description of Work: They gave me an estimate for disaster restoration.

 + -1 moreThis was the best painting and repair work I've ever had. The contractor was neat and did extremely fine finish work. I am VERY picky when it comes to painting walls and trim. This guy was the best. He was not messy and he cleaned up every night so that his equipment was out of my way. Other than a small scratch on the floor from moving furniture, everything looks much better than even before I had the water damage.
Description of Work: United Services repaired and repainted my walls and ceiling after water damaged them.

 + -1 moreLost a quarter of the roof in a storm. The guys were all very polite and professional. They were recommended by my insurance company for the work and billed direct so it was really an easy process. They also hooked me up with Howard Roofing who did an awesome job on the remaining work of my 10k damage.
Description of Work: They got to our home quickly after our storm damage. They tarped the roof. They quickly started tearing out drywall that was soaked and brought in several massive dryers. Additionally they used deodorizers to minimize the water damage.

 + 0 moreALTHOUGH THEY WERE VERY CORDIAL, THEY DIDN'T START WORK ON THE ROOF FOR TWO MONTHS AFTER RECEIVING A 50% DEPOSIT. THEY WORKED ON THE ROOF SPORADICALLY, ARRIVING LATE IN THE MORNING. IT TOOK WEEKS TO COMPLETE. THEY LEFT A JUNKER TRUCK WITH FLAT TIRES PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE FOR 3 WEEKS. THE PAINT JOB WAS POOR AND HAD TO BE REDONE. PAINT WAS SPILLED ON MY HARD WOOD FLOOR. IN THE END, EVERYTHING WAS DONE REASONABLY WELL, ALTHOUGH MY GUTTERS WERE DAMAGED IN THE PROCESS. I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN DUE TO THE CONSTANT EFFORT I HAD TO MAKE TO KEEP THEM ON TASK AND REDOING WORK.
Description of Work: GENERAL CONTRACTOR FOR NEW SLATE ROOF AND INTERIOR WATER DAMAGE TO WALLS. THEY USED STERLING ROOFING AS THE ROOFING CONTRACTOR.
