I received a flyer in the mail stating that this company would perform a free one-room cleaning for the first ten customers to contact the company. When I called, the owner stated that I was one of the first ten people to respond, asked where I lived, told me she lived right by me, and stated that she and her employees would be happy to come and do the room cleaning for me. We set up a day and time for the appointment. One day before the scheduled appointment, the owner called to cancel, stating that I was out of her service area. I reminded her that we had already spoken about where I lived, and that she stated that I WAS within the area. She said that she was aware of that, but that after talking to her husband, they decided that since there were no other customers near me, it did not make sense to come to my house. She said this like it was no big deal, and only apologized after I really let her know how bothered I was by the lack of professionalism this all indicated. While I completely understand the decision they had to make, and that they have to do what is in the best interest of their company, it seemed to me that this was very unprofessional to promise a service and then simply "cancel" it. I would have expected them to at least come and fulfil their promise to do the free one-room clean. They may be an excellent company that does a great job cleaning homes, so I do not want to disparage them in that regard, but I did want to note my displeasure with the company on the "customer service" front.

We greatly apologize for making the appointment in the first place as we admit it was an oversight on our part. If we had it to do all over again we would've advised the reviewer that they received the ad by mistake and we do not do business in the Imperial area. If our ad did mistakenly get delivered to Arnold Imperial we certainly didn't receive any other calls from that area. We intentionally put legal disclaimers on our ad because we knew there was a chance the ad could be passed around to friends and family outside of the intended areas. If someone would have called from Illinois we would have denied them as well. We did reserve that right. We did apologize up and down for our mistake, and we certainly feel that we handled it in a professional manner, free clean or not.
