.We were given different months that the work was going to be started but they all came and went without any one showing up or communication. I would text call 10 to 15 times before I might get some form of communication. After waiting a full year Billy texted saying maybe we should just get our money back.... It has been 5 weeks and we have not received our money!
Description of Work: We signed a contract and paid $1600.00 May of 2016 to have a 2 to 3 ft retaining wall built ..

We waited for 9 months and never got a start date after many phone calls and texts we were given a date for the job to start. It came and went . Again after many phone calls and texts another date was given it too came and went. I finally got a response with a ton of excuses . ANOTHER date was set for the work to begin ...nothing!!! I finally after more unanswered texts and phone calls I decided to contact Billy by his website (please check what I said he decided I was unfair to his business) All I asked was for him to contact me since at this point it was over a year.. When he finally contacted me he was ****** because I went to his face book .. ALL my correspondence was always very cordial. We paid in May of 2016 .$1600.00 and as April of 17 NOTHING was done! I don't know if the job was underbid or something better came up ..Billy suggested he would just give our money back that was more than a month ago ..We are considering going to a news station since he STILL will not returned our money ....The ironic part of this story is this would of been the 3 job he did for us , we are baffled on why this has happened. BUT I WOULD NEVER USED HIS COMPANY AGAIN !!!!!

The owner, Billy, missed the very first appointment. After we contacted him he apologized and rescheduled, which he did show up for. His price was not the lowest but he did seem professional and we hired him for the work. When the work began, his crew showed up on time, was very professional and polite. They did only work half days because of the heat so the work did take longer than it should have but that was acceptable to us. The work did seem to be of high quality originally but once the garage doors were installed and the building watertight we found that when it rains from the front of the garage water comes in under the doors and puddles in the garage. This is where my complaint starts. Sent BTK a first email stating what was going on. No response at all. Resent the same email 2 weeks later. Received a reply from the secretary that she would talk to Billy and see what he said. No more response. 2 weeks later I sent a third email, stating that I expected a response and needed to get this corrected, that the problem would not go away by ignoring it. Finally got some response, after emailing back and forth several times we settled on a date and approximate time that Billy would come and look at it. It has now been a week after his appointment, he was a no show, no phone call, no email, nothing. I am at my end of waiting for him to do anything. He apparently took my money, completed the work insufficiently and does not stand behind his work. I am making it my mission to use every resource available to inform the public, DO NOT use BTK Concrete for any work. I will have to use other means and money to fix his incompetent work. The worse part of all of this is that right after the work was complete I gave him a glowing review about how he went the extra mile to do an excellent job. I wish I had waited to write the review.

Billy, the owner of BTK Concrete, first of all, is an awful communicator. He was hard to get ahold of and bad at returning phone calls. On the first day they came to begin work I told him I was going to go into work late so I could meet with him when he arrived at my home to make sure we were on the same page for the project. He showed up an hour late and was brief and dismissive in going over the project with me. Once the project was underway things went wrong almost immediately. He did not make the foundation parallel to the property line as was the plan. Now when I go to put up a fence it will not be parallel to the side of the garage, which will look ridiculous. When asked about this Billy said he had decided it was more important to be parallel to the alley. That was not my desire and he made this decision without consulting me. Additionally the curb which was supposed to be 6" wide and 8" tall was in fact 8" wide and 12" tall. When asked about this he said he decided, again without consulting me, it would be better this way because it would be stronger, despite the fact that this was not what was shown on the plans. Now I have an extra 2" of curb sticking into the interior of my garage taking up valuable floor space and too big of a step down into the garage which necessitates building and extra step, which takes up more floor space. This is not all the was wrong. The slope of the floor was 1/4" over a foot, despite the plans clearly calling for 1/8" over a foot. Also the approach from the alley sloped back into the garage rather than away, causing water to gather inside the garage when it rains. The slope is important to me because I intend to use this garage as a wood shop. The greater the slope the more uncomfortable it will be to stand and work in the garage and the more my machines will need to be adjusted so as to not lean with the slope of the floor. When confronted with these problems Billy did agree to remove and replace the approach while bringing the floor up 4" and adjusting the slope to 1/8" over a foot. I was happy that he was willing to admit fault and make an attempt to fix it. The fix, however, had its own problems. After the re-pour the mouth of the garage had a 2" dip across its width such that if a garage door were to be installed there would be a gap under the bottom in the middle. I believe that Billy miscalculated and did not order enough concrete for the re-pour. Instead of finding a solution to do the job right, he tried to pass off a poorly done job and hoped I would not notice or complain. When I did complain yet again, he acted like it was no big deal and that the seal on the bottom of the garage door would make up those 2", which was clearly not going to happen. He tried to insist that I install the garage door first to see if the seal would cover the massive gap. After a month of holding out (I had paid him half up front and told him he would not see the other half until the job was finished correctly), he finally relented and agreed the dip needed to be fixed, but refused to also fix the approach, noting that pouring the approach was not technically in the contract. When I reviewed the contract it was true that it did not explicitly say that they would connect the garage floor the the alley that was 1' away. I had not thought to explicitly include that because it seems obviously included. Who builds a garage without a way to get a vehicle from the alley to the garage? The fact that he had already poured it twice shows that he also thought that it was implicitly included and was now just trying to weasel out of doing it correctly. In the end I just wanted to be finished with him, so I agreed to let him replace the first 3' of the garage floor in order to make it level across the mouth of the garage without replacing the approach. The result is a 2" curb that you have to drive over to get a car into the garage. Additionally, the new section that he poured was now level across the mouth of the garage but sloped back into the garage, once again causing water to collect inside the garage. I did not realize that it sloped back into the garage until after I had paid him, so I was left needed to spend more money and time to apply floor leveler in a effort to bring the floor up high enough that water would not run into the garage. Overall, I am terribly disappointed with all aspects of my interactions with BTK Concrete, from customer service to promptness to quality. I would definitely not recommend them to anyone who wants their work to be done correctly.
