Description of Work: MF Fleischhacker removed our old asphalt driveway and replaced it with a concrete driveway. Dave was great going over options and explaining what they would do and why. He wasn't the lowest bid but I liked their product and his professionalism. The work took two days and everything went as smooth as could be. I highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: Dave was very prompt in his reply to my initial call for a bid. He came out within a couple of days and looked around and gave me a bid right there on the spot. I was impressed with his knowledge of the business and his guarantee. He began excavation of my driveway but found that there was a lot of wood ash and other debris. He notified me that he would have to charge me a lot more than we had originally talked about. He was also concerned about the quality of the soil and was worried about asbestos. In addition, he was worried that the ash content in the soil He was also concerned red that the ash content in the soil would make it less than favorable conditions for concrete. We decided to stop the project right then and there. We negotiated a fair price for the work that had been done and found Dave very agreeable to work within that respect. I then got the soil tested and found that it did not contain asbestos .

+ 1 moreDAVE F. IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT CONCRETE AND FULLY EXPLAINED WHAT THEY WOULD DO. HE WAS VERY PROMPT IN RETURNING PHONE CALLS. THE LAST 13 FT OF THE DRIVEWAY WAS INSTALLED AT 5'' THICK (INSTEAD OF 4'') AT NO CHARGE BECAUSE DAVE THOUGHT IT NEEDED EXTRA SUPPORT. DAVE MADE SURE HIS CREW DID EVERYTHING CORRECTLY. THEY DID A GOOD JOB OF CLEANING UP AND MADE SURE TO ROPE OFF THE AREA. DAVE FIT ME INTO HIS SCHEDULE ON VERY SHORT NOTICE. ONE NOTE OF CAUTION: IF YOU HAVE A SPRINKLER SYSTEM, MAKE SURE YOU KNOW IF THE LINE RUNS UNDER THE DRIVEWAY. WHEN REMOVING THE ASPHALT, THEY UNEARTHED THE LINE AND A CONNECTION CAME LOOSE AT THE EDGE OF THE DRIVEWAY. THEY DIDN'T THINK THEY DAMAGED THE LINE SO THEY REBURIED IT AND POURED THE CONCRETE. IT TURNED OUT THE LINE HAD BEEN DAMAGED BUT WAS REPAIRABLE. DAVE OFFERED TO COVER THE COST.
Description of Work: REMOVED ASPHALT DRIVEWAY AND CONCRETE SIDEWALK BETWEEN DRIVEWAY AND FRONT STEPS. REPAIRED FOUNDATION UNDER GARAGE DOOR BY REMOVING BLOCK AND POURING SOLID WITH CONCRETE. INSTALLED NEW CONCRETE DRIVEWAY (18 FT X 44.5 FT) AND SIDEWALK. USED DURA-CRETE CONCRETE. PRICE INCLUDES PUTTING ON SEALER AFTER 30 DAYS. INSTALLED METAL RODS IN SIDEWALK. USED WIRE MESH IN DRIVEWAY. MAXIMUM CONCRETE SECTIONS ARE 7 FT X 7 FT. MY DRIVEWAY HAS 18 SECTIONS. TOTAL TIME FOR JOB WAS ABOUT 10 HOURS.
