On the delivery date, he and his father were right on time, but they did not have the entire order with them. Chris apologized for the error, he stacked what he had and we set a date less than a week later when he would deliver the remainder. He delivered and stacked the remainder of the cord on that day. The wood is excellent, a combination of oak, birch and maple. I am very pleased with Chris' service and product.

Never come across a reason to switch companies. The price has always been told, they have delivered the firewood when they said they would and I've found the logs dry and they burn well.

 + -1 moreWhen Chris and his Dad arrived, they were both VERY friendly and professional. They immediately offered me some birch kindling that gathered at the bottom of his load and I couldn't bring them empty boxes fast enough as they filled them and carried them into my garage. Chris and his dad were quick and clean at stocking the firewood. I got exactly what I expected. And, almost best of all, Chris shared even more knowledge with me about using a fireplace, the different kinds of wood he was delivering, using the kindling, caring for a fireplace, etc. While he and his dad stacked the wood, I used his advice for how to check my fireplace for creosote to see if it needed a cleaning -- I'm happy to know how easy it is to check this myself.
Description of Work: Being a new fireplace owner, I was confused with the options and advice given on the web and decided to invest in Angie's list to get recommendations. It was WELL worth the cost to do so, because I quickly and easily found Taylor's and knew instantly on the phone I was making a good decision. Chris answered the phone immediately, was very friendly and professional, and also offered advice for me knowing I was a first-time fireplace owner. It was VALUABLE advice that made sense and was very helpful. When answering my questions, he was rich in USEFUL and MEANINGFUL detail, not loosely using industry jargon that elicited further questions and confusion. On the phone, Chris provided additional service options for me (setting up a rack, kindling, etc.) and simultaneously quoted his price and a hardware store's price, which is cheaper. He has no hesitation to be honest and transparent in his business -- presumably because he realizes that truthful business can sometimes garner better loyalty than price can. In the eyes of a customer, trust can be more valuable than low prices. As long as Chris is in business, I'm happy to know that I landed with a firewood provider I'm happy with.

Description of Work: Called on a Thursday for 2 cords of wood and they came and delivered it that Saturday morning, in time for a house party. Excellent responsiveness and communication and showed up a bit early for the delivery.

Very trustworthy and worth the good reports on Angie's list. He was nice and easy to deal with on the phone and was prompt in her service. The firewood seems to be of very good quality also and worked well.

 + -1 moreExactly on time, wood looks great, and they stacked it nicely in our firewood rack. I think it is a father/son team, and they were very polite. Equipment (truck & hydraulic trailer) looked in very good shape and shows that they take pride in their business. Price is higher than most others, but you are paying for the extra quality, service, and convenience (so I think it is still an excellent value).
Description of Work: Delivered and stacked 1 face cord of firewood in yard (8' x 4' x 16''). Threw in a bag of free fat wood starters for first time customer. Can be ordered with wood for $10. Customer can leave check for them if not home at time of delivery.

 + -1 moreWhen you purchase anything sight unseen, you have an idea on what it should look and perform like. Taylor's Firewood did not and will not disappoint you. The firewood from Taylor's is exactly what you would imagine. Beautifully split and naturally dried 2 years and burns without any spitting that you see from wet firewood. It is a pleasure to work with a company that is trustworthy and follows through on what they say. As long as Taylor's is in business, they'll have me as a customer!
Description of Work: Chris Taylor was a pleasure to work with. I ordered 2 fireplace cords of firewood which was beautifully split as well as being dry. Chris told me that this wood has been seasoned naturally for 2 years. Chris arrived with his father and stacked the wood in my garage as requested. I have used this wood just under 4 weeks and the fires produced from Taylor's firewood is great. I only wish I ordered from Chris last year.

 + -1 moreChris and his father couldnt have been any nicer (as everyone else has said). They were on time and called right before arriving. My only 2 concerns are that A, my friend thinks I may have gotten gypped on the amount of the wood since it was stacked in a non-standard fashion and B, the fatwood that I purchased and that was raved about will hardly even burn in an existing, roaring fire (it was also quoted to me at first as $20/bag and then the day of the delivery it was $10/bag). I would have them back again but I would have the wood stacked in the standard fashion and I would not purchase the kindling.

 + -1 moreJob 1: They came on the COLDEST day of the year with a smile on their face. Chris and his dad were so polite. Their price is such a value! We will always use these guys! Thanks! P.S. I laugh at some of these ratings on here where people rate the price at a ''B''! These guys stack the wood wherever you want and go to any length. I have had firewood dumped on the driveway in the past from other people. These folks should go into the forest and cut their own. Job 2: When I called no one answered but he called back with in an hour. He quoted $75 for half a cord and said it can be delivered that week. I thought they had a good price, they offered a quick delivery time and gave me quick call back. I went ahead and paid over the phone. I am waiting now on the wood to arrive. The ordering process was quick and simple.
Description of Work: Job 1: They delivered 1/2 cord of wood to our home.($150.) Job 2: I ordered a half a cord of fire wood to fill our 4X4 foot metal rack. ($75.)

First, Chris was very flexible in delivery options, and even squeezed me in to his schedule on short notice to deliver a partial load he had available to hold us till he was able to make a full delivery the next week. Second, the quality of the wood was also very good. Earlier in the season we used another vendor and the wood from Chris burned significantly longer log for log. This weekend we had a fire going from 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm and used two carry bags of wood from Chris vs. the 4-5 carry bags from our old vendor for the same time frame. Comparing previous vendors to Chris, Chris is definitely the front runner in both service and for the quality of product you receive for your dollar.
