Hamline Garage Door

This is the second time I have used this provider and I wasn't disappointed. Quick, expirenced and efficient and on time. Offered good advice about future issues. Very personable.

Our old garage door needed work and Hamline Garage Door was recommended. Mark suggested a new door as the replacement parts we would need and, other wear/tear problems that he could see rearing their ugly heads in a matter of months, would end up costing us more. We followed his recommendation and are very pleased with the installation. I would definitely recommend him if you need a garage door.

Mark was able to figure out immediately what was the cause, got the parts and fixed it. We were very thankful for Mark's friendly expertise and how fast he was able to fix it for us. We have used Hamline Garage Door, over many years, and would highly recommend them anytime you need garage door work done.

Mark came the same day as my call regarding replacing a broken spring on our garage door. When he arrived and saw the type of spring, he said he no longer had that type of spring (old type on each side of the door), and didn't have the materials along to install torsion springs. However, he got the very heavy door raised which allowed me to get my vehicle out of the garage. He returned the next day and installed the new type of spring. Everything went very well and we're enjoying the new springs.

Fantastic. Mark provides excellent service. Prompt, pleasant, fairly priced. I called him in January 2013 when the opener wasn't working and he came out right away. It turned out to be the receptacle. He tightened some loose bolts anyway and didn't charge us for the call since it was an electrical issue. We will need a new garage door very soon, and you can bet that we'll call Hamline Garage when we are ready.

Every once in a while, you run into a guy who really knows his stuff. When it comes to garage doors, about which I know nothing, I'm guessing there's not much if anything that Mr. Jacobsen hasn't seen in his years (34 of them as a sole proprietor, he told me after I asked) in the craft. It was late on a Monday night when I noticed the door wouldn't open. Broken spring. Dialed up Angie's List, saw reviews for Hamline Garage Door, and called and left a message. Early the next morning, Mr. Jacobsen returned my call and after a quick, pleasant chat about my problem, we arranged a late-morning appointment. He arrived right on time and, after taking quick stock of my situation, went straight to work. He worked quickly and with precision, politely answering my questions as he did. I'm naturally curious about things, and I got a crash-course in all things garage door -- how springs work, how to keep a door in good lubrication and with what, why I sometimes have problems with the door in the winter, why my opener didn't have a manual safety release (guess what -- it did), and how much more life I might expect out of that old warhorse of an opener of mine. Upshot: Fast response, expert work, educated customer, friendly guy, excellent value. And a door that works better and more quietly that it did when I bought my house eight years ago. A+. Easy recommendation.

My wife called to let me know the garage door was not working and only going up about two feet. I asked to check the slide that had gotten worn out but that was not disingaged. I asked her to look at the springs and one had broken. She called Mark about 4:00 PM he could not make it this evening but was over around 9:00 the next morning and took care of the springs and the broken slide piece. He also is assiting us in attempting to trouble shoot our openers not working all the time. He was over this after noon with a radion frequency detector to see if there was some kind of intervence that might be causing the openers to stop working properly. Nothing was detected and the openers were working properly. He will be back in the morning to test again.

My garage door (an old wood core door) was rotting out from moisture getting into it. I had backed my car into it years ago and the damage allowed rot to set in. I was concerned that I would open it one day and it would fall apart. I got two estimates and Hamline was less expensive. However I went with them not so much for the cost but from the feeling that this guy really knew his business. He also seemed fair. He installed the door the next day, took time to explain how the door opener worked. Really a nice operation. I would definitely use them again.

Our garage door wouldn't open in the morning. We had worked with Hamline Garage Door a few years ago on another issue. I called Mark and left a message. He called back an hour later and was to diagnose the probably issue over the phone (broken spring) and provide a quote. He was able to go over the same day and fix the garage door.

I was completely pleased with the work. I called on Monday afternoon, received a call-back Monday evening, scheduled an appointment for Tuesday pm, and Mark arrived punctually shortly after noon. The work was well done, he was completley professional. Highly recommended.

On Thursday afternoon I backed into my garage door before it was open all of the way denting the bottom panel pretty severely. I was able to mend it enough for the door to open and close somewhat reliably, but I was worried that it would jam on my wife. On Friday morning I contacted Mark from Hamline Garage Door and he came out that morning to better mend the door so it would be OK over the weekend. On Monday he came back and replaced the bottom panel. He also replaced my external keypad which was acting up. This is the second time I've used Mark at Hamline Garage Door and both times I have been extremely impressed by his responsivenes and his professionalism. You can tell he cares about the products he puts in and he cares about his customers' safety.

Went perfectly. Mark is very responsive and professional, and is really good at explaining what is wrong and how and why he fixes and adjusts things. He put in a new opener for us a couple years ago and a new seal last year. We highly recommend him for all things related to garage doors and openers.

Over the years I have had occasion to use Hamline Garage Door several times. Every experience has been good. Quick response and great work. He has always offered a bit above and beyond. Definitely someone I would recommend.

I had been having problems with the garage door opener for months and had used this company about 10+ years ago and remembered I was happy with them at that time. I called them in the a.m. and by 10:30 a.m same day Mark showed up, surveyed the problem and called me at work with options to fix the problem. I decided to have him install a new opener since the one I had was over 10 years old and had been giving me grief for months. I'm very happy with the new door and would recommend this company to anyone with garage door/opener problems.

Hamline Garage Door was great. I called them around 7:30 a.m. because our garage door would not open. He diagnosed the issue over the phone and told us how much it would cost. He came earlier then he thought and our garage door was fixed by 9:30. I was very impressed. I told them this was not an emergency situation as I was able to get the the cars out of the garage and he still came quickly. The price seemed very reasonable (and it was what he quoted over the phone). He was very nice and easy to deal with.

They did a great job! They were reasonably-priced, prompt and timely with their work. They were also very professional. I would highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience. I called Hamline Garage Door from work in the morning and explained that i needed a new garage door opener installed. I gave them my address and they did the work that afternoon and left me a bill inside the garage. When i came home from work, the job was complete and my new opener worked great. I mailed them a check the next day.

We were expecting to have to replace our 50+ year old garage door when one of the springs broke one night. We called Mark late and received a call back promptly at 8AM the next morning. He was here by early afternoon and was able to replace the spring and get the door operational again. Mark was fast, friendly, and extremely professional, giving us all our options and offering sage advice. It's ugly, but our ancient garage door now works as well as a brand new one! When we decide to replace the door for aesthetic reasons, we will definitely call Mark!

Hamline Garage Door fixed our garage door that had been broken and we were opening manually for two of the coldest months of winter. I didn't even need to come home for him to fix it. He was busy but came the next day. It was a great relief and we should have called him earlier. I chose him because I got his name off of Angie's List and there were rave reviews. I join in the chorus.

Decided to clean the garage and in the process, we left a door in the wrong place and closed the door with our automatic garage door opener. The garage door (an old 1950's wooden door) got "askew" and would no longer open or close properly. We had our handyman look at it and he thought it might be kind of a task -- perhaps requiring some new rails, etc. Anyway, we found Hamline Garage through Angie's List and since they are business from the same neighborhood and were well reviewed, I thought I'd see if they could help. I called and left a message -- the message indicated he was in the field and would return calls in the afternoon. About 1pm I received the call and he said he'd be over before 3. Mark showed up around 2:30 and within about 10 minutes had the garage door working again. Then he spent another 15-20 minutes tightening bolts, re-affixing/tightening the rails to the garage, adjusting the automatic door opener, lubricating parts, replacing the light bulb, etc. Bottom line, the garage door works perfectly again -- probably much better than it did before. Quick, didn't charge for any parts and just the labor for a service call. I am extremely impressed -- Mark knew exactly what kind of garage door this was (like I said, it was an older 1950's model) and knew just what to do to get it running again, and also spent the time to go overall everything to make sure the whole apparatus was working properly. Worst case, I was thinking it was going to be a big, costly repair involving new parts and an afternoon of labor. So relieved he was able to take care of it so quickly and efficiently. Will definitely be using him again for any future work.
