Description of Work: Soderlin did a furnace check up on my forced air gas furnace. They told me I needed a new furnace right away as the old one was a fire hazard. The serviceman even told me I should shut off the furnace and heat the house with space heaters. I didn't like the price they quoted for a new furnace and felt they were trying to take advantage of me by claiming I was in dire straights with the working furnace I had. I did end up getting a new furnace from another business.

Description of Work: I appreciated that they were available and came promptly. The repair was also done effectively. | |I was not impressed with the pricing structure. I was charged $270 for a very simple job that took less than ten minutes. The man on site told me that a significant portion of the price was for parts. When I checked in with plumbing supplies on estimated prices I was told it should have been under $10. I called Soderlin'sand asked how much such a job should cost and was told less than I had been charged. When I reported this I was told it was sneaky and rude of me to ask in that way. I was told that there was a standard pricing sheet for each type of job, which is how the job was priced. When I was asked if I could see that sheet I was told no. I was also told on the phone that the price of a visit was $59. I was not told that in order to have anything done it would be significantly more. I knew the job was simple and presumed correctly it could be done quickly and with minimal parts. I was not given warning that the price would quintuple given their pricing structure.

Description of Work: Replaced two leaking connections, originally installed incorrectly. The work was great and didn't take long at all. I've had no problems since.

Description of Work: My kitchen faucet was leaking a lot. I called Soderlin Plumbing because I have used them before and been happy with their work. The plumber they sent determined that the faucet did not need to be replaced [which I had feared], but just needed to be repaired. He did that and the faucet looks and functions like new.

Description of Work: I had water backing up from the sewer drain. they came quickly and worked fast

Description of Work: I contacted Soderlin to have two radiators moved while hardwood floors are being refinished and reinstalled after that work is completed. I did not have them do the work because the quote I was given when the service person showed up at my house was outrageous. I have since contacted three other companies and all three have given me estimates for less than 1/3 of the price Soderlin quoted. I paid $89 to have him write up a bid that was so overpriced it could not be taken seriously. I'm very disappointed that I had to pay $89 to be given a quote like that. I was told when I scheduled the appointment that there would be a fee for the visit. However, I expected the appointment would entail more than just standing in the room writing up an estimate. Only after I told him I was very shocked by the quote did he tell me the $89 fee could be applied to the quote because it was over $1,000 and that he would also reduce the fee by $200. Even with those "discounts" the fee is still more than double the other quotes I received. The only positive comments I can make are that the person who scheduled the appointment over the phone was very polite and the technician who showed up at my house was on time and also polite.

Description of Work: LEAKING WATER PIPE THAT WAS CAUSING CEILING DAMAGE AND WALL DAMAGE AS WELL AS WATER DRIPPING INTO BASEMENT WAS LOCATED AND REPAIRED.

Description of Work: I NEEDED A PLUMBER IN A HURRY ONE MONDAY IN THE MID-AFTERNOON TO FIX A KITCHEN FAUCET. I CALLED ONE COMPANY BUT THEY COULDN''T COME UNTIL WEDNESDAY MORNING. I CALLED SODERLIN AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD COME THE SAME DAY BUT IT MIGHT BE TOWARD EVENING. THEY ARRIVED WITHIN 45 MINUTES! THE YOUNG, FRIENDLY TECHNICIAN FIXED THE FAUCET AND IN THE PROCESS DISCOVERED THAT A SHUT-OFF VALVE TO THE FAUCET WAS BROKEN, SO HE FIXED THAT TOO. IT TOOK HIM ABOUT 75 MINUTES TOTAL.

Description of Work: THEY CAME AFTER HOURS WITHIN 15 MINUTES OF MY CALL. THEY REPLACED THE THERMOCOUPLER ON MY BOILER

Description of Work: HAD A SUDDEN LEAK IN A VALVE ON THE FIRST FLOOR BATHROOM THAT DRIPPED INTO THE BASEMENT. JEFF CAME OUT WITHIN TWO HOURS AND FIXED THE LEAK WITHIN 25 MINUTES.
