(part 1 of 2 ) In response to [Member Information Removed]'s online reviews of the moving and packing services provided to her by our company, Quality Moving, and Storage on August, 26th & 27th. To begin, [Member Information Removed] has several misconceptions about our company: Our insurance coverages and status Our storage policies and storage procedures Our employees Our method(s) of estimating moving or packing jobs The following is a list of all the insurance coverage Quality Moving and Storage currently in force. Acuity Insurance Company: Full truck/auto General liability Cargo coverage Insurance Companies of the West: Full workers compensation on all employees, including management Old Dominion: Bonding coverage on all employees, including management We also are compliant with and operate under: The Federal Department of Transportation Our number 1106377 The State of MN Household Goods permit our number is 369778 Federal Motor Carrier Our number 5137122 The following is an account of the relocation into storage of the [Member Information Removed] household and garage items. In June of 2020, I visited the home of [Member Information Removed] with the objective of conducting a thorough survey of the home and its surroundings so as to prepare a cost of moving estimate for the [Member Information Removed]'s. The actual estimate is below. [Member Information Removed] states in her review that I used the words "max bid". In my 27 years in this business, I have never used either the word max or bid. Our process is to estimate the cost of a move/relocation job. Simply stated, we do not bid on jobs nor does our company offer "not to exceed" estimates or as [Member Information Removed] refers to that process as a "max bid". [Member Information Removed] also declined my offer of our company's packing or boxing service. [Member Information Removed] only wanted the furniture and the previously packed, taped, and labeled boxes (by her) to be taken into storage.Service Provider Response
"Member Beware" The member called to discuss a move. We then followed up with a customary "snap shot" text wrapping up the initial phone discussion. A period of time lapsed and then additional texts were traded. In the series of texts a move was discussed but not officially confirmed. On the day the member was expecting us to move her, she called and spoke to our call center, asking where her movers were. The owner was informed and called her immediately letting her know she was not on the schedule and that we'd help her as soon as crew freed up form our morning services. She was OK with that and the next couple days could work, as well. At this time we kept her in the front burner for the day. A text was sent to her stating this as well as we could move her on the upcoming Saturday at 9a. The member eventually turned us down, asked how she could trust us, etc. We even offered a discount for Saturday. She refused to work with us and sent a handful of rather negative, condescending and rather unnecessary texts. She also refused to talk to us on the phne...as we tried to help, discuss or get the move handled. Bottom line, the move was not officially confirmed, we tried to help as soon as we could and offered another day...but for some reason, it did not work for her anymore. We apologized over and over and offered to help asap and soon thereafter. If you read through the hundreds of A+ reviews on Angie's you'll see we are the exact opposite of what his review says we are. We are professional, timely, honest, and we care! We never "not shown up"...it is not who we are. The move did not get scheduled or confirmed. We will take some blame due to texting about scheduling a move . First of all, we apologize for any inconvenience, trouble or concern we may have caused you. - A few notes: We do not speak of the government when taking with customers...never. - As conveyed during initial phone calls, bookings and email confirmations, all services are billed hourly from our door back to our door, to the 1/4 hour and carry a 2 hr. minimum. If that total time takes 5.25 hours then you pay for 5.25 hours. - Our staff is all of age, experienced and trained. You can see the thousands of nice comments made throughout the reviews on Angie's List that speak directly of our staff and their qualities. - We moved your things from one location to another...it is what we were hired for and it took X amount of time. If the guys were lazy, careless, got lost, took naps or long breaks then we will gladly refund. Let us know. - post move we chatted and agreed to send a refund and the satisfied customer offered to take the negative review down. It is still posted. We are sorry you feel the way you do about your experience with Quality...we aim to make moving day a very special and fun day for all of our customers. I conducted an in-person in house relocation survey at the [Member Name Removed] home on March 4th, 2019. The purpose of the survey is to make a complete list of all household and any other items to be moved to the new location. During the walkthrough, I was told by Ms [Member Name Removed] that her son in law and daughter were going to move all the boxes and other small items to her new location. Thus our, Quality Movers, part was only to move the furniture and a few larger items in the garage. It should be noted that in conversation with [Member Name Removed] at that time, she expressed doubts that her son in law would be able to perform much moving help as he had recently badly injured his leg. An estimate/proposal of the cost was prepared for the [Member Name Removed] relocation project was $2350.00 and emailed to her on March 15th. There was no mention of the number of movers nor the number of trucks in the estimate. A determination of equipment and manpower was uncertain as all [Member Name Removed] contents may have had to remain on a Quality Moving truck(s) overnight because of closing issues. Then there was the uncertainty as to the number of [Member Name Removed] items her family would move in advance of moving day. The actual moving process took somewhat longer as the overall amount of items moving was larger/more than noted during the original survey. The reason is that her plan on transporting some of her household goods prior to the actual move dates did not happen. The actual amount paid to Quality Moving by [Member Name Removed] was $2433.00. This check was returned to us for insufficient funds. This was only $83.00 over the estimate. Most of this is incorrect and as always, a story has two sides. We are always open to discussing if any member would like to hear. For the record, this customer has threatened us by stating if we did not basically buy their happiness that he would tell the 10, 000 employees at work bout us. We worked very hard for these folks and went [Member Information Removed] out of our [Member Information Removed] in some very difficult times, with extreme weather issues.
