Mohawk Moving & Storage

I am in the middle of a move with Mohawk righty now and would not recommend them. They committed to delivering our household a week ago and they still have not done so. Even worse, they won’t commit to a new date - saying they have no idea when they can get it here. My calls with them are all words - no action or real support. They were very prompt at taking our cash up front - I wish they were even close to that diligent in delivering their services. Truly - they are the weak link on our move adding so much stress as we sit in our new home with nothing here, and having ti buy stuff everyday just to stay here.

It went well. The crew on the Minnesota end were efficient and responsible. They wrapped the appropriate pieces and took care with the boxes. The crew on the other end were also efficient and helpful. We've noted some minor damage but nothing that cannot be fixed easily.

It could have not gone better. The 3 men were nice and handled our belongings with care. I would highly recommend this company if you have to move.

They packed a 2 floor ranch in less than 4 hours, so they were really efficient.and nothing was missed in the unloading. I loved the bar-code system they used for boxes - very efficient. Only one glass was broken, but it wasn't an expensive one. All in all I was so pleased. On move-in day, a Mohawk supervisor called me several times to check how things were going. I always had a contact person for questions . The movers themselves were great and treated my furniture as if it belonged to them. All told, a great experience. The cost of service below includes 4 months of furniture storage.

Very easy process for our move.  Made some last minute changes to service and they were able to quickly take care of our last second requests.  Haven't used PODS but whey would you when these guys are cheaper and EXCELLENT at customer service and meeting your needs?  This is the way to go to move and if I every have to again (HOPEFULLY I WON'T!!!) I will use these guys again.

It went really, really well; it was even better than I expected. They gave us a delivery time frame. Everything was professional and everything was put in the right place. The price was actually cheaper than what they quoted. I would highly recommend them.

Everything went wonderfully.  They were very responsive to our initial request and provided a competitive price.  We set up delivery, got the rental agreement signed online (very convenient by the way) and paid.  They even called a day before the scheduled delivery and offered to deliver it a day early (at no extra cost) because they had some extra time.
We were moving to a new house and calling to get the container moved was very easy and done within a reasonable amount of time.  And pickup of the empty container was just as easy as everything else.
The part that moved me to write the review, however, was surrounding an errant charge on my credit card.  As soon as I noticed it, I double checked the 'fine print' on our agreement and it still looked to be incorrect.  So, I called Dirk and left a voicemail about my concern and he called back within 5 minutes.  He took a quick second to look up our charges and discovered that it was indeed an incorrect charge and refunded it on the spot.  No hassle, no argument.  
When you're dealing with a vendor for the first time and there's a billing issue, you really just have no clue how it is going to turn out.  But I will say that Dirk was extremely gracious, helpful and professional.  I will use Go Mini's again and will recommend them to anyone else needing portable storage!

When they came to load the truck they told us they couldn't give us a 48-hour window yet, without any explanation of why. Over the course of the next few days, we called trying to find out what our window would be. Finally, on the 7th, they told us that our things wouldn't be delivered by the 9th. In fact, although we were in New York by this time (and had been since the 1st) all of our stuff was still in Minneapolis in their warehouse. What's more, they still didn't have a driver to bring it East. Apparently, they overbooked their drivers so badly that they had no idea when they'd have somebody available to bring all our furniture and belongings to us. They estimated our things might arrive by the 14th. Maybe. (This is after, while we were deciding which moving company to choose, they sent us multiple emails telling us to "book now!" before they ran out of availability. So, apparently, despite that, they booked moves beyond their driver availability and never told us that this was a risk.) 
At this point, we're trying to decide whether my husband will fly back to Minnesota and drive our things here himself in a U-Haul or whether we'll book a different moving company to do that. We chose Mohawk because they seemed more professional than other movers we interviewed. We are very disappointed to be still camping in our new apartment with our infant daughter and no definitive word on when we can expect to have our things. The only recourse they've offered us is $100 for every day that they are late after the promised July 9 delivery date.

We used Mohawk movers 12 years ago to move to Hudson, WI and we liked their services so much that when it came time to move again we gave them priority in choosing between movers.  They came to our home at the scheduled time for the free in-home estimate.  The in-home estimate was important to me because we were doing a partial move and I wanted to talk through particular scenarios with the estimator.  The communication process during the quote building was so poor - it seemed that we could barely figure out a date/time for the move and it took forever to get on the same page about the hourly price for moving and how long the move would take.  Although I had concerns, I continued to rely on our previous excellent experience with Mohawk.
On the day of our move, the 3 movers arrived promptly and professionally.  They had been told that it was mostly a "big item" move rather than boxes.  In reality, the opposite was true.  It also hadn't been communicated to them that we wanted to use the complimentary wardrobe boxes so they didn't have those on the truck.  Despite the minor glitches caused by the miscommunication to them from the estimator, they remained pleasant and professional. 
After our move was completed, the statement was prepared and it was $300 over the estimate!  Most of this was because we had been misquoted on the drive time to/from the move site(s).  On the quote we were told it would be 30 minutes - but in reality we were charged for 1.5 hours!  We attempted to clear this up with Mohawk the next business day and we were told that the estimator would get back to us.  He said that he would review the paperwork from the moving crew and get back to me, but he never did.
We're getting ready to move the rest of the things from Hudson to Woodbury and we will NOT be using Mohawk movers.

Without a doubt this is one of the most "can do" companies I have every worked with.  Dirk is a delightful, positive person that made a challenging request possible.  His company delivered a durable, safe storage unit and was willing to juggle it into a tight space for a very reasonable price.  The storage unit made a home remodeling project possible and the skill and attitudes of the people in the company inspires us to recommend them to anyone needing a storage unit.  

I told them to be careful of some very fragile items. Also, we had boxes of electronics such as a DVD player and VCR player. We kept them open just as they requested. The boxes were moved several times between smaller and bigger trucks. When the boxes were delivered, the VCR didn’t work. They did not reimburse us for the VCR because there was no external damage. We have this antique desk table that had been refinished, looked beautiful and was expensive. When it arrived, it had a scratch. We did get some reimbursement for it. However, it was one of the things we told them to take care of. There were other things damaged such as our fan, sofa, and bookshelf. We were upset about how they didn’t take care of our belongings especially when we requested that they do. I wouldn’t use them again.

I had no problem  with the sales rep, packers, loaders or unloaders.  They all arrived on time, were pleasant and did a good job. However, dealing with the business office is another story.  I was entitled to a refund, the value of which changed between moving day Bill of Lading and the actual check.  (Apparently, their math skills leave a lot to be desired.)  If I had not pursued the refund it  would never have happened.  My voice mails were NEVER returned and when I actually spoke to someone I got lots of apologies and little action.  I finally did get a refund.  The check was dated Feb. 1, 2014.  I do not feel this is a very professional way to do business. . 
I  would not recommend  this company for these reasons. This is the first Angie's List recommend company that I have not been happy with.
  

We had a two-stage move. The buyer wanted our old house 6 weeks before our new one would be ready. Mohawk moved us out of the old house and put our things in their air-conditioned storage facility. When the new house was ready, our things were moved from storage to the new house. Everything went as planned. I couldn't be more pleased.

We rented a portable storage container from Mohawk Moving and Storage to store all our household items while our new home was being built. The container arrived on-time and they did a great job dropping it off and picking it up just when needed. We liked that we were able to access the container any time during the four months we used their services, which we did. During our move-in, the trailer arrived on time and was picked up as soon as we called. I liked the fact that there was always someone on call even during non-working hours. Which was great as they picked up the trailer earlier than originally planned. This resulted in the container being moved just hours before a big 12' snow storm. I wouldn't have been happy with a snowed-in container in the front of our house but they quickly responded to our request even though it was a Saturday.

Mohawk and United Van Lines did a fantastic job....Thank you all so much.....I am one happy person with this first time moving experience.

They wouldn't wait for me to look at the boxes or place them in the right room.  One unloader couldn't hear or speak intelligibly.  Numerous items are still missing and haven't been found but my claim was declined.  Be very careful using Mohawk. They do not care about you as a human being.

The stuff just got delivered last Thursday and Friday. I did the actual driver he was really good. He called me to arraign everything . Everything got  to where it was going without any problem. Nothing terrible happened but a couple things got broken.
