We ve had hero service or plumbing a few times and it s been above and beyond what we expected with regard to customer service being very professional down to earth as John was a great listener listening to each and every symptom we described allowing him to successfully Troubleshoot our problem. So thankful for the services we received from John at hero plumbing twice now and we re having another appointment scheduled for tomorrow for a turn valve repair from hero plumbing as well. Thank you hero plumbing and thank you John for the great service!

Ian Futterer from Hero Plumbing Heating and Cooling did a great job of tuning up our Air Conditioning system. Ian has fabulous Customer Service skills; he is skilled, kind, and competent. We are enrolled in Hero s Happy Homeowners program; Hero does Tune-up in spring for A/C system and in the fall for Furnace Tune-up. We like the proactive service!

We had an annoying, constant drip from the shutoff valve on one of our toilets. Searched plumbers that service our area and selected HERO Plumbing. I have never used them in the past but being in business since 1914 what the heck, I will give them a try. The appointment was set for 5 days out. I was ok with that, just shut off the valve and placed a bowl under it. Day of the appointment comes and I received a phone call from their technician explaining the billing process, approximate time of arrival and approximately how long the fix would probably take. We proceeded. Doorbell rings and there stands a man holding a beautiful pot of flowers. Immediately my brain begins a scan of **OK; whose birthday is it? Did I forget our anniversary again?** But wait! This is the Plumber? I said, **What is it with the flowers?** Rick replied: **Just something our owners wanted to give you to put a smile on your face during these hard times and to thank you for calling HERO Plumbing** WOW! ok... (The wife is going to love these) Might get me out of the Dog House for taking so long in getting the Toilet fixed! Rick was very friendly, informative, and quickly fixed the toilet, replacing the shut-off valve. Also adjusted the water level for a maximum flush. At this point, he asked if there were any other plumbing issues with the house that I may be concerned with. Told me about a program that HERO has: $10.00 billed monthly that puts us on priority call status, eliminates the service request charge and receive a 10% discount on all future service requests. I signed up for it. The charge for the toilet fix was (unexpectedly) more than reasonable. So impressed with this operation that my wife started calling her friends and business associates. **When was the last time you called a plumber and he shows up at your door with a pot of flowers?** It has been a few days now, no leaky toilet, wife waters flowers every day. HIGHLY Recommended.

BEWARE of Hero s up sales and price-gouging tactics. During routine furnace and AC tuneups they ALWAYS recommend additional purchase/service. 2 years ago they bid $299 to install Hard Start kit on my AC ($15 part); I researched the need and declined. This year the bid for Hard Start kit was $108. Although my AC doesn t show a voltage drop or cause lights to flicker, and there s no empirical proof these kits extend life of compressor, I accepted install based on the theory. When I called to accept the bid, I asked about any additional charge, eg service call, and was assured $108 was total cost. Upon arrival, the technician said there was an additional $20 truck fee , which he retracted when I relayed my conversation at the time I made the appointment. Note: this is a straightforward install and took less than 10 min (how justify original $299 bid??). Another example, Hero found a gas leak during furnace tuneup and bid $2326 repair; I hired another plumber who charged $225.

Hero employs great, experienced technicians! Never have been disappointed, & Mike J. Confirmed that today! The only knock is that uptown grew so fast that they out grew their business model...scheduling is a super pain...they used to contact me to remind me of service...not any more & eventhough I think I m ahead of the schedule curve, I m still out 2-3 months...frustrating

What a fabulous family enterprise. I have NEVER been kept so informed by a service company before Hero Plumbing and will NEVER call any other plumber for my future needs. John and Ben were exceptional professionals and wonderful people!

We have used Hero/Uptown for quite a few years, and have had no major problems with them, until now, when we were seriously misled about a supposedly needed emergency repair. One of their technicians was out to do routine maintenance. He reported several supposed gas leaks. And another one of their technicians came out and also inspected the pipes, and said he could fix it temporarily for $700. But that to **fix it right** and replace all gas pipes with copper pipes would cost $3500. Wow. So I called Center Point Energy to come out and thoroughly inspect the gas lines, and they found absolutely no gas leaks. They also did an inspection last fall, and found zero gas leaks. I also did a soap bubble test on the joints that were supposed to have the gas leak, and found no leaks. I also contact another reputable plumber for an estimate of how much it would cost to replace all the gas lines, and their rough estimate was about $2000, a lot less expensive. Not happy with Hero anymore!

I have a 125-year-old house- so it was a tough job. John went the extra mile and did it pleasantly, though I know he had to be saying "OH NO" in his head. Thank you, John.
