Garth was here right when expected and did a wonderful job of demolition, and repair with out a hitch.

Garth has always done excellent work and I highly recommend him. He is always on-time, shows up when he says he will, and expects his subcontractors to do the same.

They were able to come soon after I called. Their service was fine and they did the work well. I rate them very highly.

Overall Garth was awsome! He did excactly what I asked. After Garth and I talked over the phone, he came right out the next day and gave me an estimate. (Which was very reasonable). He was on time and very informative. The quality of his craftmenship met my expectations. My wife and I will be using him again (for painting) in the near future... Thumbs Up! Garth is very professional. He did a wonderful job matching a textured plaster finish that was done to the walls of my home back in the 1930's. My experience in the past leads me to believe that matching those textures applied to older homes is really an art form, and one that Garth did an amazing job on. I could not have been more pleased with the service or with the outcome.

I think this was an overall good value for the work done. Best Plaster was responsive to calls and requests, kept the lines of communication open (we did add some additional work as the project proceeded) and the end result was at/above expectations. I originally called Garth about needed repairs to openings in the walls where A/C units were removed. Since that work NEEDED to be done, I decided to address some other superficial plaster cracks/ issues in other places throughout the house at the same time (The quote - which was broken out by project (awesome) was great in helping to make decisions on what work we would take on. Side note - the "original, needed work of A/C holes was only about 20% of the total job - it was nice to know that going in. It was also great that there was ZERO sales pressure to add more work or take on more than we were willing to do - the entire bid process was pressure free). The work looks great - my only complaint - it was a little messier than I thought it would be (based on what I read on other reviews on Angie's list). This issue wasn't enough to warrant anything lower than an A rating, but I probably had unrealistic expectations - I know working with Plaster and Drywall is a messy project, and Garth never said it would be mess free - I probably just read a little too much into other reviews. Just know, even with best efforts, there will be a high amount of dust/ debris if there are big areas being repaired.I would highly recommend Garth, his team and Best Plaster and Drywall to anyone looking to have professional and quality work done in their homes or businesses.

Garth came out within an hour of receiving my phone call which was unexpected but very much appreciated. We received two other quotes from professional painting companies that are highly recommended here in Angie's List this past week. Since we have plaster ceilings, we wanted to know more about the nature of the work that we want to have done and Garth really gave us an education. He obviously knows his trade extremely well and even though we're selecting one of the painting contractors, we would highly recommend him for any plaster repair work.

Garth gave me an estimate over the phone. Came when promised, did more than I expected and charged me less than he originally estimated. Can't ask for more than that. Thanks Garth!

An employee got back to us the same day and gave us an estimate. He started work within the next few days and did an beautiful job. This was a two-day process since the sheetrock compound needed to dry between coats and then sanded afterwards. The technician was very thorough and did a lot of prep work before starting on the actual plastering process, so the first day took longer, maybe 4 hours (can't remember exactly how long). On day two he put plastic sheeting up so the house didn't get overly dusty during the sanding process. Also on day two, when the technician was going to be a half-hour late, he called to let us know, and we really appreciated the conscientiousness. After the walls were dry and sanded smooth on day two, the technician answered our questions and did a great job cleaning up. We then painted our kitchen walls and it looks great. This company did an excellent job and nobody would ever be able to tell how damaged they had been before we hired this company. We would definitely hire this company again when we need more work done, and highly recommend them.

He did a fantastic job. It looks so great that I can't tell where the repairs had been needed originally. I thought his price was reasonable.

When my upstairs tenants called and said, "The kitchen ceiling is about to fall down," that got my attention, so I called Garth. He provides wonderful service - returning calls promptly, showing up for an assessment and estimate on time, and explaining what he expects will happen. In this case (on a Thursday), he reassured me that it wasn't likely to fall in the next fewe days, but squeezed the repair in the next few days. He showed me the work before he left at the end of the day with a report on how it had gone, and told me when and who would be back to sand/paint. The day before the second visit, I had a plumbing disaster that resulted in my downstairs tenants bathroom ceiling having a big hole in need of repair. Garth - again - came to the rescue and squeezed this second repair in right away (the very next day). The price is included above, but I want to note that this second repair cost a total of $75 (I did the painting on this one.) His painter did the same he does - stopped by to note the work was done, talked me through how it went, and generally checked in to be sure I was satisfied before leaving. In both cases, the work looks as good as the service was great. It's never a good thing to have to call for emergency repairs, but working with Garth is so easy, it's almost pleasant to dial his number.

Garth and Seth did a masterful job in all respects. These guys are great. They were punctual, professional and a pleasure to deal with. There was a little miscommunication about the carpentry work on the window. When I pointed it out to Garth there was absolutly no problem. Fix was done almost immediately and actually was more involved that original estimate. No extra charge. He stood by his estimate.

Garth arrived promptly and made a very thorough initial estimate. He also recommended we check with our insurer to see if the repairs were covered (they were). We made several minor updated to the areas to be repaired; Garth accommodated those and noted each of them on the contract. We were very comfortable working with him, and left him the key so he could perform the work while we were on vacation. When we returned, the walls were smooth and level once again, as were the ceiling areas affected. He did leave one section until we were back so he could verify what was to be done, but returned promptly and did the work once we confirmed the plan. One ceiling area had originally been a pale green, not white, but Garth color matched the ceiling back to the previous shade as soon as we informed him of the mistake. There are a few areas we think could have been plastered more smoothly, and it took a few reattacks to get everything done to our expectations, but the overall result was worth the time.

He called me back to say that he was busy and would call later to schedule an appointment, but he never did.

His price was competitive, he was punctual, and the job was very well done. I am quite satisfied with the work done and the manner in which it was completed.

They did an okay job because they were very quick in their job. Their price was reasonable for the work they did. They were very responsive, punctual and professional. I would use them in the future if needed.

Unreliable! We contacted this company to obtain estimates for two projects in our building. The first time, he called just prior to the set arrival time to let us know he would be unable to make it due to personal reasons. We set another appointment, and he left a message 25 minutes after he was supposed to be here to say he was at a job site and could maybe squeeze us in for the estimates. No thanks, we'll try a different company.

The company did not respond to my inquiry/return my call, so I moved onto a more responsive provider.

They did a good job, and I would call them again.

Garth is FANTASTIC! Not only does he do excellent work, he also is a delight to have around the house and to interact with. Plaster work is messy no matter who you hire, but I think Garth did a good job containing the mess and a reasonable job cleaning up afterward. His finished work always looks great, and we've never had to call him back to fix previous work. We highly recommend him!!

He did a nice job if dealing with the unpredictability of what one finds behind walls, both in bidding and in solving the problems once they were uncovered. (I did the demo after he bid but before he got here to do the work.) He was respectful of keeping the house clean while doing inherently messy work, and did a nice job of cleaning up after he finished.

I sheetrocked my own remodel, but decided that I ought to have a professional tape and mud as that is a skill one only does well with years of practice. Garth completely understood my needs and scheduled a time to come by in the evening to give me an estimate. He showed up on time, reveiwed my job and gave me a handwritten estimate on the spot. No wait. I had taken out a couple of other estimates and Garths' came in about $500 under the others, and he seemed like a nice guy with a lot of experience. I scheduled him to start as soon as he could, which was a few weeks out because he had some larger jobs. Two weeks before he was scheduled to start he called me and indicated that the job he had scheduled for the week before mine had some hold-ups and he was wondering if he could start a week early. I was ready for him to get going so I agreed and he started one week before he was scheduled to. I paid him 50% up front, 25% during the job, and the final 25% at the end. He worked at my home during the days while my wife and I where out of the house at work. He is very trustworthy, and a kind, gentle man. Even my dog liked him. He spent approximately 6-7 full work days on my project starting with a 20 min dry filler coat for the big gaps, followed by tape, corner beading, then three coats of fill. He paid extra attention to areas in my rooms that weren't entirely square, and/or required additional fill coats. He finished the job with two days of sanding and complete clean up. When he left he assured me that if after I paint I see any issues to give him a call and he would fix them. I have not painted yet, but I'm sure that if I need anything Garth will be there to help. All in all was very pleased with the whole experience. My two criticisms are that he was unable to get any guys to come help him with the final sanding and clean-up, slowing him down from what he himself expected (I didn't have these expectations), and during the week he was a bit messy in the workspace. It wasn't an issue because we didn't have others working in the space at the same time, but I could see how it could be an issue on a different site. The messiness could just be the nature of the work, and by jobs end he had done a thorough clean.

Garth was very responsive to my call, quickly getting back to me with an estimate. He wanted to make sure he gave us what we wanted - not less, not more. We are very happy with the work they did. Skim coating is a dusty process and they covered everything in plastic and cleaned up each day. The work was done in a timely manner. Our walls look great. You can't tell where a hole was. All the workers were professional and courteous. I highly recommend Garth and his crew at Best Plywood and Drywall.

I was not home at the time of the work so had a friend monitor the work. Garth arrived on time and completed the work promptly. When I did return home after being gone for several weeks, I looked at the area he fixed. While the damage was limited to a narrow strip above three windows and and pockets of wall sections between the windows, I was a little disappointed with the quality of the repair. At the intial estimate, he indicated that two different plaster textures would be replicated for the wall and ceiling repairs, but it appeared that this did not occur. I felt that I could have scrapped off the damaged plaster and repaired the areas will putty. However, seeing as I wasn't home at the time of the work, and didn't see it for 4 weeks after the repair, I couldn't complain too much. The damage was fixed and I painted the area and everything looks great.

Garth was great. He was very professional and the job was very well done. He communicated with me throughout the whole process and I am very pleased with the work that he did. Very personable and would recommend him to anyone I knew needing this type of work done.
