Most of the communication with Arrow Lift was done by our main contractor and our accessibility designer. They both spoke of Arrow Lift representatives not returning calls. Arrow Lift was given a general timeline of when the remodeling would be at a place where we'd need the lift. They were given a more exact date as the remodeling progressed. They were still two weeks late in installing the lift. Our contractor had communicated the importance of the lift as my husband can barely get up and down the four stairs in our garage, and he is getting worse. When they came to install the lift, I had to leave for work. When I got home that day, the lift was in, but the door of the lift swung into the door area of the house, meaning you can't get around the lift door to get into the house. It's barely possible when my husband uses his walker and I help him, it's physically impossible when he's in a wheelchair (he will be in a wheelchair full-time within a few months). We called the contractor to complain, and he contacted Arrow Lift to have someone come take a look at it. When the Arrow Lift representative came out, he talked to my husband and said that it seemed like it would be usable as is. My husband insisted that it would not and a new door needs to be installed. At this point, the man tried again to say that the door was ok, and said, "After all, you CAN walk." We found this unprofessional, inappropriate, and insulting. Then the "deal" they came up with was that we'd have to pay for a new door and they'd give us free labor. I find this unacceptable. The whole point of this remodeling is because my husband will soon be in a wheelchair, and because of their mistake, currently a wheelchair-bound person would not be able to enter or leave the house. I find the work they did unacceptable, their attitude unacceptable, and their "solution" to their mistake unacceptable. It's difficult enough being in a situation where a family member has become disabled, and now to have to deal with this is overwhelming.
Response from Arrow Lift- Twin Cities
"While we did not work with [Member Name Removed] directly (it was through a 3rd party consultant, who was our actual customer - we never spoke with her during the process) it was tough reading her post about the challenges she experienced on the remodel for her husband. We are not perfect as a company, but we are very committed to doing the right thing, whatever that may be. In an effort to try to help from a budgetary standpoint, we provided a "used" lift for this project. Since it was an existing lift, the equipment came "as-is", which we communicated via drawings that were signed off on by said 3rd party that we were contracted with. We followed through, delivered and installed what was agreed upon. Unfortunately, when we installed the used lift it did not meet the needs of the client. In spite of prior communication on what we were providing, we actually went an extra step and replaced the used door (which was part of the used lift) with a brand new door at no cost, to meet the needs of the client. It is very unfortunate (and I don't doubt her sincerity), but the summary about the conversation with an Arrow Lift representative was misconstrued. Our representative explained that the lift could be used in the interim, while the brand new door was on order. There was obvious miscommunication (as is sometimes the case, when things are relayed second hand) and it was very different from our message. Part of our mission as a company is to serve others and help them stay in their home. We take the service portion of our mission very seriously and while it hurts to hear about this negative experience, it reminds us that even after 30 years of being in business, we can always get better. Humbly, Andy Newstrom, Vice-President"

We needed a stair lift for a split-entry staircase and got bids from two vendors.  Arrow's bid was competitive and they were very eager for our business.  Appointments were met on time, the evaluation process was thorough, and their expertise was comforting.  We ordered the lift system and they came out and made extremely careful measurements.  In our situation, the stairs had been custom-built more than 40 years ago and each tread and riser was somewhat different from the others.  Arrow was very conscientious and made sure of all measurements and angles.   Before the system was manufactured, we had to cancel our order because the person we needed it for had died.  Arrow was very understanding and was able to immediately get the order canceled with the manufacturer, saving us a large unnecessary expense.  If in the future we had a need for anything Arrow supplies, we would definitely choose them again.

Very good experience with this company. They are a family business, and do a lot of elevator, lift and stair lift installations. Their responsiveness and reliability are excellent, and we are very pleased with the installation and their professionalism.

I first contacted them in 2007. We had gone to their office and looked at all the different lifts that they had. I have a chairlift that I have put in my stairway. They were here for maintenance and taking care of it. My husband had cancer and cardiac problems and the place he loves the most is downstairs. He was getting very weak and I was very worried about him. The lady next door had recommended Arrow Lift Accessibility to us. We could choose lifts in many different price ranges or an elevator. We got to try each one of them out. They were not pushy, and it was about what price range we wanted. We bought one then and they installed it for us in 2008. I bought a plan where they would pay for any repairs or anything that needed doing for the next two years. They checked to see how it was working. I called them on the phone for some problems that it was giving and they instantly hooked me up with a repairman and told me how to stop the beeping. The technician said he would be here at 3 o?clock and he was here at exactly that time. He was neat and clean. He worked very professionally. He brought his own tools to do the work and had even changed the battery for me. The chairlift is due for a yearly maintenance check.

They were recommended to me by a friend who had used them before. They are good quality chairs and one man installed the entire unit quickly. He didn't track on top of the carpet at all. They come out and fixed the chair if we ever have problems and they also give us pointers on things we could fix on our own.
