Good Stuff Moving

Brent from Good Stuff was very responsive to my original quote request and very willing to work with me to determine the most cost effective means of completing the moves after we had decided to use their services. For both the original move out of our existing house and move into our new house they arrived promptly at the times stated. In both cases they utilized two trucks and crews plus 2-3 additional persons which made the moves go quickly and efficiently. We had them pack some pictures and they did a good job with no resulting damage when they were unpacked. They provided sufficient blankets for protecting furniture and did a good job of effectively packing and filling the two temporary storage pods and there was no significant damage to any of the contents in light of the fact that they were loaded and transported to and from a remote storage facility. They were professional and courteous, taking the time to ask what items needed to be moved and to where. They did their best to protect flooring and walls with only very minor scuffs that were easily cleaned up. I would definitely consider utilizing their services again

The original estimate was for 5 guys, 7.5 hours and over $1,800. In the end, it only took them 5.5 hours so we saved $400! The service was great from start to finish- they got out quickly to give an estimate, scheduled us right away and the movers showed up right on time and wasted no time in moving us. They were extremely friendly and took care not to track dirt or anything into our new house. Two pieces were damaged--- one they pointed out immediately after unloading from the truck which impressed us and the other, we found when the light hit it a certain way. They are going to fix and/or replace both pieces and didn't try and make us feel guilty about calling them in. The owner, Brent, has been in constant contact with us since we told him about the damages and seems genuinely concerned with repairing the damage which is nice. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone moving.

They showed up on time and after showing them what we needed moved they started right away. The guys where very friendly and professional. They where very accommodating when we got to our new home and we where unsure where we wanted things. We even changed our mind on which table we wanted upstairs so they went back downstairs and brought it back up. They where very patience with us, which made our move so much easier!

Even before the move, I stopped in at their office, they were very friendly and pleasant, but not pushy at all. I thought their prices were excellent, compared to others I had called. I took the two men between 2 and 3 hours to do the move. They brought a coupon, that I wasn't even aware of, and let me use that. They were very punctual, and really polite. They made it go very smoothly. I just can't say enough good things about them. It was a stressful week leading up to the move, but moving day was delightful, thanks to them. My mother, who is 87, was also very happy with them. I would recommend them.

The guys were very friendly and professional. They came and loaded her things from both our home, and a filled storage space. They were very professional and didn't waste any time. Their price was very fair. We would definitely use their services again.

My first positive interaction with this company was with Brent, who took my call when I was checking on a quote. He was very open about the company and seemed earnest in getting us the kind of service we needed. He even offered to lower the hourly rate to match a competitor. When I later called back to make the reservation, he was cheerful and seemed glad that Good Stuff Moving could help us. He offered many examples of how people have utilized the company - from two to three movers, how to pack, what they could move, and how to make our time and budget go the farthest. Brent was great, and one of the main reasons why I booked with Good Stuff Moving. The three-person crew showed up on moving day about a half an hour earlier than scheduled but did not mind waiting until the scheduled time (without charging us), and for our 22 month old child to finish breakfast. They were courteous, professional, and clean. We walked through the house so they could assess all of the items they would have to move, and then they got to work. They loaded everything up safely and quickly. They did not waste their time, or our money, in driving to the new house and begining the unloading process. They were responsive in taking items to the correct rooms and even moved a couch to a different location than we first thought it would go. Including the half-hour drive from the old house to the new house, they were done in four hours - which was, budget-wise, exactly where I wanted to be. No damage was done to either house or any of our belongings.

We needed to move the contents of a room to an apartment. Both locations were in the Twin Cities. I called to schedule the time, and the company was very accommodating, even give just one week notice. I stopped by their storefront several times to get boxes. I paid a $2 deposit on each box, and after the job returned all of them for a complete refund. The 2 man crew was punctual and called ahead with their arrival time. They moved everything fast and safely, then proceeded to the destination address. They moved the furniture into the apartment, even assembling the bed. The time spent was almost exactly what was estimated. All furniture arrived safely and without any damage. The crew was very attentive to padding and moving things safely. This was the best and most painless move I have ever made. Highly recommended!!

They sent a team of two each time to do the move. They arrived on time, were professional, worked quickly and finished the job each time in less than 2 hours. Not a wall was dinged nor a piece of furniture scratched or broken. They can prepared and were positive and committed to doing a quality job.

Great experience! They did a great job moving and the guys were very professional. I had several very heavy items that had to be moved and they did a great and fast job moving those items. I will definitely use them again.

Don't let the funky name make you think this place is unprofessional. There was a misunderstanding on my part regarding the time the movers were to arrive, but that was cleared up when the confirmation call came the day before the move. They made arrangements to change the time, which I really appreciated! Joe and Russ were the movers, and they were fantastic. Worked hard and fast. On the end of the move there was a lot of waiting for elevators, but this wasn't the fault of the movers. In fact, the leasing agent came to us and explained that from the loading dock, an elevator had to be taken to the basement, then to another elevator to come up to the 5th floor. This made the move longer than anticipated, but it was still reasonable for the amount of stuff we had. I would absolutely hire them again!

The move went very smooth. Because of the fact I was moving my stuff from Iowa, they were unable to give me an on-site estimate, but after talking to me about what i had, Brent estimated the move and the size of truck that was needed perfectly. The move was based upon a flat rate for the travel and an hourly rate for loading and unloading. The guys who came worked hard and efficiently to pack the truck and then to unload it where I could get to what I needed. It was a great move, I highly recommend them.3

The movers, James, Jeremy and Russ, arrived on time and were very professional. They offered to take boxes or wardrobe boxes if we wanted because there was room in the truck. They seem to want to help in any way they could. The finished in a shorter time than expected therefore under the estimate. There seem to be no down time. I would definitely recommend Good Stuff Moving and use them again myself.

If you haven't yet hired Good Stuff Moving for your move, my question would be "Why not?" From start to finish, our experience with the company was above par. I called 3 moving companies, all highly reviewed from Angie's List, and received calls back from two of them. There was nothing immediately remarkable about Good Stuff Moving, but they sent someone out quickly (within a day or two) to estimate the move. What I liked about the first interaction is that the estimator was able to speak intelligently about the company and its practices as well as the guys they hire to crew the moves. He spoke highly of the trust built with the team and I liked that. Additionally, he did the estimate on the spot - no waiting. I chose Good Stuff Moving because while they had a similar hours estimate and number of movers, their prices were slightly more competitive and as I mentioned, I liked what the estimator had to say about the company. They also offered free used boxes to use as soon as I signed, to be returned within 60 days of the move date. While this doesn't represent a massive amount of monetary savings (enough, but not enough to use them if I didn't like them), it made the move much easier because I wasn't stressed about getting just the right amount of boxes, I picked up some initially and went back for a second batch when those were full. When I got to the office there was always someone there and they found my contract quickly, noted the boxes I was taking, and carried them out to my car. The day of the move, the moving team was prompt, polite, and hard-working. They didn't chat unnecessarily but kept me informed of how they would move and how it was progressing. We were estimated to have 3 movers for the move. 2 were on time and one was uncharacteristically late. They let me know he was on his way and that I would only be charged for 2 until he arrived. His delay was a non-event for our move. They carved off almost 2 hours from the original estimate. I assume this is a combination of a skilled team and the fact that we moved awkward items (lamps) ourselves and had absolutely everything in a box ready to go and our beds disassembled. A huge time-saver for us was that we didn't need to pack the clothing dressers, they just saran wrapped the whole thing and took it away. Made it very easy to unpack! Unpacking the truck, my husband and I stood outside the truck and directed 'traffic' of furniture, toys, garage items, etc. They had no problem remembering which room was which and putting labeled boxes in the right places. They made sure we were happy with the placement of the furniture and they laid down plastic to protect our light colored carpet. We promptly returned the boxes (within a week or so of the move) and while we were unpacking, we noticed that the handle on our mitre saw had broken. I called Brent to let him know that we'd take a closer look and if we couldn't fix it, we'd bring it in. I brought it in and left it with Brent. He had someone take it to Sears for a repair estimate that same morning. When the estimate to fix was more than the saw, he cut and mailed us a check for the price, along with a photo of the saw and the cost at Sears. This was all done within a few hours. Here's the kicker -- in the envelope with the mailed check, he included a flyer for a discount at Sears, basically making the saw cheaper than the check he just wrote for it! At this point I became concerned about their profitability margin. I feel like it is a rare, rare thing to be treated so well that you worry about the company maintaining a healthy profitability. I, for one, will not call anyone other than Good Stuff Moving for any of my future moving needs - large or small. I was treated fairly appreciate the excellent service they provided.

Excellent experience. Brent spoke personally on the phone with me, gave me a very direct and reasonable quote. Day of the move, as expected, I received a call informing me that the movers were on their way. They promptly showed up on time, and even though parking around the University can be difficult, they secured parking quickly and started the move, which went very efficiently. All 3 guys were very conscientious and careful in handling the furniture and the surrounding doorways, hallways, banisters, etc, without oversight. It proceeded so smoothly the move concluded an hour or so earlier than expected, which was greatly appreciated. Extremely professional from start to finish, and highly recommended.

Tremendous customer service - both from the office team as well as the movers themselves. They actually made moving day enjoyable with their expertise, good humor, patience and extreme care they showed with all of the goods. The prices are excellent - they are upfront about how they charge. The moved goods into storage and were extremely conscientious about how they stacked, protected and positioned the goods within unit to make sure there would be no damage as well as ensure everything fits!! I just booked them to move the goods to the new house. The rep remembered me and I have no worries for the upcoming move!

Excellant, Ben and James arrived on time at 7 the morning of the 29th and loaded the truck by 11:30. They were very pleasant and professional. The next morning they arrived at the new house in Owatonna as requested at 9:30, which gave us time to attend the closing and have the house ready to unload. the company provided used boxes free of charge for the packing when Angies list was mentioned. We chose the flat rate instead of an hourly rate.

They made a royal mess of my carpet and stairs. I will never use them again in the future.

The company's response time to my email request for prices was great. The man I spoke to on the phone was helpful and friendly. I'm not *ecstatic* about the service, but it was fine; they got the job done. They were a few minutes late, maybe 10-15. I had two storage units: one for furniture and one for everything else (boxes, bags, some loose items). In storing the furniture, they didn't display any attempts to make the best use of the space. I had to ask them to put things in a certain way to maximize the space, and I often had to repeat my requests. It's not like I had many specific requests about where to put things. The bulk of my stuff (the boxes and bags) I just let them put however they wanted. But the furniture, I'm going to have to do some rearranging on my own (with a bad back, grr) because I got annoyed at being ignored and tired of repeating my requests. Yes, I need assertiveness training. :) They were pretty good about getting the boxes arranged into a good use of the space. At one point, a tower of boxes fell, narrowly missing one of the guys. I wasn't using the best boxes, so it's partly my doing, but I would've appreciated a token "sorry" for the things that broke. They worked pretty fast. Overall, I think they did a satisfactory job with only a few areas I would've wanted improved.

The movers arrived at the beginning of their stated time window. I wasn't expecting that! It was great, though because they got started immediately. My wife and I went to close on the house while the movers got, well, moving. They were at our new house waiting for us by the time we arrived. They asked us where we wanted our furniture and they removed all the protective materials from the items once they were in place. Good Stuff Moving did all the heavy duty lifting and moving for us. They made us feel at ease, since moving is usually a nerve-wracking hassle.
