Jeremy was my contractor for the job. Unfortunately I was not onsite during the project to oversee the progress. When I was finally able to see the work, the job was not 100% complete. In the process vent ducts were walled over, appliances were damaged, a beautiful bathroom vanity was sawn into on Jeremy's decision to save time, my custom pantry was not replaced, crown molding was not replaced, etc. etc. ATTENTION TO DETAIL was completely absent. When I called Jeremy on it, he told me I was being too picky and overreacting. The cabinets that were replaced were off the shelf Lowe's cabinets that cost a small fraction of what we were charged. Their website says "Done right, from start to finish" which is laughable given their poor quality of finish and lack of follow through with their subcontractors. Consequently I have had to finish several of these items myself. Unless you want to 1) overpay 2) finish their work to do it correctly, don't use them.
Member- It pains me to read this review. It is an exception to my many satisfied clients over the last decade. It is never my intention to leave a customer dis-satisfied or perform less than superb work. With this said I would like the chance to clarify a few of the issues that you brought up. When the contract was written I had NO correspondence with you. It was with your wife, who was out of state. Together she and I agreed upon what work would be done and what products to use. There were a wide variety of options to choose from and everything was presented in the contract. I regret that you were not present to add input. 1. The property had extensive water-damage. A restoration company (that I have no affiliation with) came before I did and gutted most of the first level. I was brought by your wife to prepare the home for the market, as it was her intention to sell the property. We worked within the budget set by insurance company. 2. The appliances were in a damaged condition when I arrived. This is most likely due to the water damage and the prior gutting process. Upon my first “walk-thru” they were in disarray throughout the property. 3. The bathroom vanity was originally installed improperly. I did indeed have to modify the vanity. The back of the drawer was cut in order to update plumbing codes. This modification is not visible and in no way affects aesthetics or function. 4. The cabinets I installed were one of many options I presented to your wife. She considered style and cost. These are the ones she chose and I installed them as she wished. 5. I apologize that the dryer vent was walled over. This is an oversight. There was no dryer present and the sub-contractor missed this. We attempted to schedule a time to fix this but you hung up on me. 6. Your wife told me to throw the pantry in the trash because the fridge had never opened properly. So I installed 3 new pantries that fit. Now, the fridge opens properly. 7. We worked within a set budget. We believe we provided a fair and honest price. We installed 1000sq feet of oak hardwood flooring and base/shoe, installed new cabinets and pantries, the ceilings were repaired, a new furnace was installed, the first level was painted, 4 new solid-oak doors and hardware were installed. Basement walls were sealed and painted, the entire first floor and garage needed 2 ft. of sheetrock around the perimeter, the water-heater and gas lines were improperly installed and this was remedied. All of the permits were cleared by White Bear Township and by an independent adjuster. This was not a small project. It was scheduled and managed in a timely manner. We transformed your home, that was in shambles into a beautiful living space. I wish I could post the before and after pictures. It was a pleasure working with your wife, and she was delighted when she was in town to check on the progress. We kept her updated through photos and almost daily phone/email correspondence. I speak from the heart when I say that I am satisfied with the work I did and I stand behind my work.
