It went great, tech had to have part ordered, then returned and installed it. Fridge works great (1994 KitchenAid).

Service tech was prompt. was able to fix the oven quickly, good as new. However, the price to get a technician out to service is expensive. Either way you have to pay someone, these guys are good.

TCA came out for under $100 to diagnose the problem. Replacement parts were ordered and then they came back to install. I liked the feature that showed where their repair person was and when they would get to my house with a 15 minute heads up. The repair person fixed the fridge but caused some damage to our floor in front of the fridge. The repair person accepted full responsibility and then it was very easy to work with Tim from TCA who covered the replacement cost of fixing the floor. He even allowed us to pick the company that originally installed our floors to do the repair. I was very impressed with his and TCA’s professionalism in general.

Our three year old Whirlpool dryer was very noisy. We made an appointment with Twin Cities. The repairman was on time. Within a few minutes of arrival he had diagnosed the problem -- lint in the blower. The bill was almost $200. $95 was the trip charge, and the remainder ($81) was the cost of removing a handful of lint from the blower wheel. The lint continued to dislodge for a day or so. For $81, I think the repairman could have taken a few extra minutes to vacuum out the area, at a minimum. I called to request a review of this charge, Tim at Twin Cities said that their charges were based on an industry standard, but that he would review it. Never heard from him again. I am happy my dryer is working, but I believe that there is still room for common sense in customer service, especially when there is an opportunity for lots of repeat business.

Thank you for your FANTASTIC service!!! I am overly impressed with Twin Cities Appliance's service! Every one that I have had contact with ~ scheduling, technicians, etc~ have been the most pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient people I have ever seen in a Service industry! I had been, literally, battling with the appliance company that sold me a product that had issues from the very first day that I used it. After 5 months of trying to get them to get the problem corrected, Whirlpool corporation sent this warranty repair request to Twin Cities Appliance. Within minutes, TCA contacted me, set up the diagnostic service call (at a time that was convenient for ME!), scheduled it within 2 days, triple-confirmed the appointment (via email, phone message AND the service tech), and was right on time. The Tech (Jared) was was neat, efficient, totally knowledgeable and familiar with the product and had the diagnosis within minutes! He ordered the part needed to be delivered directly to my home (that was so smart! I knew immediately if the product showed up as hoped for) and scheduled the installation appointment ~ again, when it was convenient for ME~ based on the estimated delivery date. TCA obviously tracked the part order also, as they knew it was delivered to my home when I was away from the house, and immediately confirmed the appointment. Again, prior to the Service call today, they triple-confirmed the appointment, I was called when the tech was 15 minutes out, he (Jay, a different Tech) arrived on time, neat, happy, prepared and set right to work. Finishing within 10 minutes, including prep and clean up, I couldn't be happier!!! After a weary 5 months dealing with the company that sold me the appliance but was unable to diagnose the problem, made mistakes in ordering parts, no-showed on 3 occasions and ultimately refused to care anymore, Twin Cities Appliance erased the entire issue and gave me the product I paid for in less than 20 minutes total! I rarely find the opportunity to congratulate a company on stellar service. It seems as if Customer Service is a fleeting thought in too many instances. It is an absolute pleasure for me to thank and congratulate Twin Cities Appliance on its 5-Star Service to me and I look forward to recommending them to many, many more people!

One week before the repair, I was quoted $750(labor) for two men to repair the refrig. The price I was quoted included 3-4 hours of work for two men. The day of the repair, one person came and did the job in 2 hours and 15 min but I was still charged $750 for labor. I called and talked with the owner thinking he would make the adjustment. He was very defensive and unprofessional. He repeatedly try to make a case for paying his technician $375 hour. We will not use them again because they take advantage of their customers. Would not recommend them.

Aside from my feelings about the appliances we bought, I am happy to advise that Twin Cities Appliance has provided exceptional service! Our tech, Dave R was interested in finding the root cause of the failure. He offered advice on how to prevent service needs in the future for the appliances we have in the house and was eager to answer any other questions I had. More importantly, my pregnant wife and jerky dog liked Dave R. Thanks Dave!

Dave came out within 24 hours and arrived exactly on schedule. He replaced a part on our refrigerator which had stopped cooling. He also spent time educating me about what to expect for future repairs on our ageing refrigerator so we could make good decisions about fix/replace. He was careful to remove shoes before entering my home and slid the refrigerator out on panels so that it wouldn't scuff my floor. Very professional and efficient service.

Update --
==========================
Since I posted my review below, I have received a complete refund from Twin Cities Appliance Service; and, an additional amount to cover about half of what I paid to have a plumber come out to my house.

I have also received an apology letter.
==========================

The water dispenser in our Whirlpool refrigerator was making a surging/hammering sound when dispensing a glass of water. Twin Cities Appliance is the only Whirlpool-approved service provider in the Twin Cities metro; so, I had them come out hoping they would solve the problem.
  • On the 1st service visit, I was told that a valve was bad and needed to be replaced.

On the 2nd service visit, the valve was replaced, but the issue was not resolved; and, I was advised that my water pressure might be too high and to have a plumber come out to check the water pressure. So, I paid a plumber $147 to test and tell me that my water pressure is perfect (61 psi).

On 3rd service visit, the technician contacted a support engineer at Whirlpool and was also unable to resolve the issue. He told me that Twin Cities Appliance would like to "walk away" from the issue and refund me my money.

I found another local company in town that was able to research and resolve the issue with one visit. The problem had nothing to do with my water pressure; the issue was resolved by replacing the water filter housing mechanism.

They diagnosed the problem and ordered the part.  However, their technician had an accident and was unable to install the part.  I called Twin Cities Appliance and they were able to come out the next week with the part and fix the oven.  They also verified that the oven temperature was reading correctly.  I would use this company again for appliance repair.

Update 6/4/2015. They have responded here that they will reverse the charges, but they haven't and they still haven't contacte me!

The technicians never addressed the issue that I called them for and left us with a really dangerous situation. We had a gas leak yet it took three visits for them to find that. After the first two visits, they told us the stove was safe to use?but it wasn?t!!
The details:
Even though I had a fire and smoke under the cooktop, they never took off the stovetop cover until their third visit when the repairman finally observed the problem himself.
First visit- I was told that the rubber gaskets were too close to the switch and that was the only problem. I said that didn?t explain
the boom and fire, but the technician (Dave) assured me that there was  nothing wrong with my stove and that it was safe to use.
When I later used the stove, one of the burners had a REALLY high flame and the gas smell was really bad.  I called them out again. The second technician (Dyron) said he didn?t smell anything. However, he was a smoker and smelled strongly of smoke (which I didn?t appreciate) so maybe that?s why he couldn?t smell the gas. He said I was smelling gas because the flame was too high for a small pot. I was also told that women tend to smell more things than men and that it wasn?t anything to be
concerned about.  I told him (and showed him a picture) of cooking with a large pressure cooker. It was hardly on the
burner at all yet melted and ruined the handle on the pressure cooker. I have been cooking with this stove since 2008 and never experienced anything like this.
He left, but I knew there was still something wrong with the stove. After trying to use it again and experiencing the strong gas smell, I called again and Dave arrived several days later. He checked out the stove and said everything was fine. He was packing up to leave and my friend said there really is something wrong with this stove and you can?t leave. Dave said there?s
nothing wrong with it.. My friend was turning on the burners two at a time and all of a sudden there was a huge boom and fire under the cooktop.
It was only then that Dave took off the cooktop and found that there was some arcing that caused a hole in the gas metal tubing!  This is extremely dangerous.  They weren?t even able to fix the stove so my friend fixed it for me.
If the first technician had just opened the cooktop, he would have seen this. It was very inconvenient to rearrange my schedule for the additional two visits. It?s very disturbing that they didn?t take the fire under the stovetop seriously and told me it was safe to use. As I called each time, they came back out when it was convenient for them and didn?t understand the urgency of this.
I called the company and wrote an email letter to the owner, Tim, and expressed my concern over all this and asked for a refund. He never replied.
I?m very disappointed in the unprofessionalism of this company.

The repair was in two stages. Stage one was someone who came out to diagnose - then order parts needed. Stage two was the actual repair.
Stage two went fine; my problem was in stage one.
While the man was diagnosing the problem with my washer, the drain hoses from the machine were knocked loose. When examining a machine - these should always be checked at the end to make sure they are still attached.
The next time I ran a load of clothes, I had water all over my laundry room. I know laminate floor isn't a good choice for a laundry room (put in by previous owners), and while my floor wasn't perfect - it sustained a fair amount of damage from that load I ran. I am hard of hearing and couldn't hear water escaping. By the time I realized what was happening, I had water heading for my kitchen.
I told the repair person (different man from stage one) that I was not happy with what had happened. I also emailed the company to explain what happened and that I was unhappy with their service, but I got no reply.
I used this company because it had very good ratings, so I am very disappointed in how this was (or wasn't) handled.

The service technician (Jim?) was on time and very courteous, a really nice guy. I explained the problem in detail and he knew what the issue was right away. He tested his theory and was correct. He replaced the coils within a half hour and had it all working again. He explained why it wasn't working correctly in the first place and what he had done – which flew over my head like a barn swallow on a sultry summer night. But who cares. My dryer works again! I can now finish laundry in 20 minutes instead of 2-1/2 hours. All in all it was an easy transaction. The service call was $89.95, parts (which he had with him) were $49.75, and the labor was $101.65. This was on par with what I was expecting. I would call them again.

These guys are fantastic! I moved into a new home that had a refrigerator that was new/never used, but would not cool. Because it sat in the house unused for some time before I purchased, the warranty time had passed. Twin Cities Appliance advised me to call Whirpool to explain what happened and to see if they would extend the warranty. I was expecting nothing to come of it and to have to buy a new refrigerator. Whirlpool honored the warranty and Twin Cities Appliance came out to replace the compressor. After a month, I noticed the thermometer I had placed in the fridge was showing dangerously low temps and no matter how low I set the temp of the fridge, it would not read a cooler temp. Twin Cities Appliance came out and discovered my crummy cheap thermometer was the problem and did not charge me when I expected to pay big bucks for the visit. I will definitely recommend them to others! They are prompt, are able to schedule quickly and have a nice automated system to let you know how long the tech will be. Great work! Thank you!

The service man was very nice and did a great job. They had an automated message that called the day before that gave you a three hour window of when they would arrive the next day. Then on the service day, there was another automated call that said the service man was finishing up on the current job and we would be next. It was within the three hour window.
