"Thank you [Member Name Removed] for your review. We try hard and as you can see we are not perfect. But when accidents happen, we stand behind our work. Thank you for understanding."
==========================
Since I posted my review below, I have received a complete refund from Twin Cities Appliance Service; and, an additional amount to cover about half of what I paid to have a plumber come out to my house.
I have also received an apology letter.
==========================
The water dispenser in our Whirlpool refrigerator was making a surging/hammering sound when dispensing a glass of water. Twin Cities Appliance is the only Whirlpool-approved service provider in the Twin Cities metro; so, I had them come out hoping they would solve the problem.
- On the 1st service visit, I was told that a valve was bad and needed to be replaced.
On the 2nd service visit, the valve was replaced, but the issue was not resolved; and, I was advised that my water pressure might be too high and to have a plumber come out to check the water pressure. So, I paid a plumber $147 to test and tell me that my water pressure is perfect (61 psi).
On 3rd service visit, the technician contacted a support engineer at Whirlpool and was also unable to resolve the issue. He told me that Twin Cities Appliance would like to "walk away" from the issue and refund me my money.
I found another local company in town that was able to research and resolve the issue with one visit. The problem had nothing to do with my water pressure; the issue was resolved by replacing the water filter housing mechanism.
The technicians never addressed the issue that I called them for and left us with a really dangerous situation. We had a gas leak yet it took three visits for them to find that. After the first two visits, they told us the stove was safe to use?but it wasn?t!!
The details:
Even though I had a fire and smoke under the cooktop, they never took off the stovetop cover until their third visit when the repairman finally observed the problem himself.
First visit- I was told that the rubber gaskets were too close to the switch and that was the only problem. I said that didn?t explain
the boom and fire, but the technician (Dave) assured me that there was nothing wrong with my stove and that it was safe to use.
When I later used the stove, one of the burners had a REALLY high flame and the gas smell was really bad. I called them out again. The second technician (Dyron) said he didn?t smell anything. However, he was a smoker and smelled strongly of smoke (which I didn?t appreciate) so maybe that?s why he couldn?t smell the gas. He said I was smelling gas because the flame was too high for a small pot. I was also told that women tend to smell more things than men and that it wasn?t anything to be
concerned about. I told him (and showed him a picture) of cooking with a large pressure cooker. It was hardly on the
burner at all yet melted and ruined the handle on the pressure cooker. I have been cooking with this stove since 2008 and never experienced anything like this.
He left, but I knew there was still something wrong with the stove. After trying to use it again and experiencing the strong gas smell, I called again and Dave arrived several days later. He checked out the stove and said everything was fine. He was packing up to leave and my friend said there really is something wrong with this stove and you can?t leave. Dave said there?s
nothing wrong with it.. My friend was turning on the burners two at a time and all of a sudden there was a huge boom and fire under the cooktop.
It was only then that Dave took off the cooktop and found that there was some arcing that caused a hole in the gas metal tubing! This is extremely dangerous. They weren?t even able to fix the stove so my friend fixed it for me.
If the first technician had just opened the cooktop, he would have seen this. It was very inconvenient to rearrange my schedule for the additional two visits. It?s very disturbing that they didn?t take the fire under the stovetop seriously and told me it was safe to use. As I called each time, they came back out when it was convenient for them and didn?t understand the urgency of this.
I called the company and wrote an email letter to the owner, Tim, and expressed my concern over all this and asked for a refund. He never replied.
I?m very disappointed in the unprofessionalism of this company.
"We are sorry this did not get handled to your satisfaction- We will reverse the charge for you and have already addressed the situation with the staff that worked on your call"
Stage two went fine; my problem was in stage one.
While the man was diagnosing the problem with my washer, the drain hoses from the machine were knocked loose. When examining a machine - these should always be checked at the end to make sure they are still attached.
The next time I ran a load of clothes, I had water all over my laundry room. I know laminate floor isn't a good choice for a laundry room (put in by previous owners), and while my floor wasn't perfect - it sustained a fair amount of damage from that load I ran. I am hard of hearing and couldn't hear water escaping. By the time I realized what was happening, I had water heading for my kitchen.
I told the repair person (different man from stage one) that I was not happy with what had happened. I also emailed the company to explain what happened and that I was unhappy with their service, but I got no reply.
I used this company because it had very good ratings, so I am very disappointed in how this was (or wasn't) handled.
"Thanks [removed member name] for the Positive Review- We try hard to win our customers over with great service"
