The guy was very good. He was professional, efficient, and thorough. I would use him again and would recommend him to others.

The arrived when they were scheduled to arrive, the work was done in an hour or so.

I purchased the garage door tune-up big deal as I was having substantial problems with my garage door. The technician showed up on time, identified several problems with the intial installation and damaged components. He was able to quickly replace/repair/re-align the door, opener, and mechanics and it has operated perfectly for more than 18 months now. Very satisfied with the service.

They knew what they were doing and did it.

Had a garage door inspection and tune-up (over 12 years old). They said my garage door was in good shape and that the garage door-opener was past its prime so-to-speak, but did not need to be replaced unless I have problems with it. They cleaned, lubricated and checked everything thoroughly, including wiring. They even answered a question I had several days after the work and I have had no problems with them. Very thorough, courteous, fst and answered all questions or concerns I had. I will be using them again.

Because we had a special size garage door, we had to order, so it took a little longer to get but it wasn't unreasonable and they kept us in the loop, so we didn't feel forgotten about. They came out and installed the new door, the new rails, new spring, opener, and key pad on November 2nd. Everything looked great and we are thrilled with how it turned out. Our garage is much warmer, the door looks really nice and the new opener and key pad are fantastic. We did have an issue with the seal on the bottom of the door, but they came out right away and fixed it for us. We were very happy with the entire experience and would use them again in a heartbeat!

It went great. They called and scheduled an appointment, showed up on time, and replaced a number of rusted rollers and completley lubricated everything else on the door. They checked the opener and adjusted all settings. All this in about an hour. Highly recommended

It went very well. The technician came on time and looked over my door, tweaked it to work more smoothly and even helped me program the button in my car to work with my door frequency. I signed the paper he provided and we were done. This all took maybe 30 minutes tops.

It was able to get an appointment at the time of day I requested and the person on the phone was very pleasant and professional. On the day of my appointment he arrived right on time and he, too, was pleasant and professional. The work was done in about the time I would have expected and my garage door has never run better. I am very happy with this company.

The service technician was prompt, friendly, courteous, and professional. He did a fabulous job. We were very pleased with the price. We ordered a gatage door "tune-up", and the technician also replaced the lift cables. He pointed out the fraying on the old cables, so I knew he wasn't trying to take advantage of us. Also, in scheduling the appointment the company told me they normally don't schedule for Fridays, but this is the only day I can take off work. They had a technician who was happy to accommodate this. This firm is straight-A!

I received excellent service. The representative showed up on time, inspected the door and walked me through the items that should be replaced. He also showed me which parts of the door needed periodic lubrication on how to do that simple maintenance. It was a good experience and I would certainly use this company again.

Garage door was very noisy before service and was much quieter after service.

Technician advised on replacement which we were prepared for (inherited an almost 20 yr old model that was acting up). We easily agreed to upgrade to a belt drive, needed a replacement keypad and 2 remotes. First tech made adjustments so the door would go down for us until replacement was installed - I had no idea how to do that and I appreciated it. We were scheduled for next day and the work was complete by 10 a.m. including a service to check all other door hardware and tracks since again, we inherited a fairly old system and didn't know the history. Very friendly men who came out on both visits. There were extra features I didn't expect on the wall unit which may have made it slightly spendier, but definitely a nice unit that should be trouble-free for many years.

One morning before work the springs on my garage door snapped. I called them and they said they could come out between 10 and 2 the same day. After 2:00, I called them to see what was up and they said that they were running a little late on the previous call and would be there soon. He arrived shortly thereafter and apologized for making me wait. He was courteous and efficient, taking only about 15 minutes to install the new springs. The price was exactly what I was expecting and the door works great.

UPDATES (on January 25, 2013) Metro Garage Door just called me and clarified the main issues I mentioned in my original review. 1) The coupon that the technician pick for me is the more cost effective way. Apparently, the 5-year standard warranty (specified on the back of the receipt) is pro-rated so it is inferior to the promotion of "$198 for spring replacement with 5 year warranty," which means the warranty covers both parts and service for 5 years. 2) They offer to give customers a call half an hour or 45 minutes before the technician arrives if customers express concern over the 4-hour time window. I really appreciate that MGD took the time to call me regarding my review. I think both of the two issues could be remedied, e.g., knowledge and friendly technician, customer-friendly explanation on documents, offer the "phone call 45 minutes before arrival" as standard rather than contingent upon customer's request. Thus I am revising my original review here. No explanation was offered though regarding the scheduling glitch. ORIGINAL REVIEW (on November 15, 2012) We used the Metro Garage Door Co. last year and everything went fine--not super impressive, not bad either. Our garage door started to have problems opening over the weekend, so I called and was turned off by the emergency service rate--in order to have the springs replaced, I will have to pay a total of more than $500 for labor and parts. So I decided to wait. My experience that follows was not pleasant at all. 1. After I informed the technician on call that we'd wait until regular work hours, I called the office again to schedule an appointment for Tuesday afternoon and I did talk with a lady. Tuesday afternoon I waited at home the whole time but nobody called or showed up. I called the office to make an inquiry but was told that there was no record of my booking. No apologies given. 2. I had to make another appointment, this time it was scheduled between 10 and 2 on Thursday. Guess what--no call, no show-up. Called the office again. A technician finally showed up at around 3. 3. The technician got the work done, i.e. replaced the springs quickly, but he was far from being courteous or helpfuI. greeted him and offered hand shake but only received a very hesitant hand shake. I have two coupons to use--one from their website: $198 for spring replacement with 5 year warranty, one from Angie's list: replace 2 springs for $179--and I asked him which one makes sense. He picked the $198 for spring replacement with 5 year warranty without offering any explanation. After the technician left, I took a look at the receipt, on the back it says "Replacement garage door springs are warranted for a 5 year period." The 5-year warranty is a standard. I could have used the Angie's list coupon to save, as little as it is, $19. Metro Garage Door Co, I hope you do read your customers' feedback--1) It would be great if you could narrow down the time window you give to your customers. Even if initially you give out 4-hour window, you could send update so that if a customer is scheduled as the second one to serve during the 4-hour window, at least the customer doesn't have to wait from the very beginning. 2) If office staff member didn't take care of things, offer an apology rather than tell your customer you don't know what happened, or worse, imply that the customer screwed up.

I think it was the other company that only replaced one spring - can't remember now - think this guy was fine

They came out and cleared up any little problems I was having.

Upon arriving for the appointment (after they called me, thank you!) I was greeted by the repair person and another gentleman who was there to work with the repairman on the new mobile computer/order system that Metro was apparently installing for their business. The repairman explained what he was going to do, I had a question about weatherstripping, and after about 30-45 minutes, the work was completed and I came back out to the garage to see what was done and ask any questions I had. At that time, then, it was explained to me that the computer-guy was going to walk the repairman through the new order system...it didn't take very long, and they needed to manuever through my "coupon" via Angie's List to ensure they charged me the right price (which I had already paid, so they needed to make sure to properly redeem my receipt through this new system) and while it really didn't take that long, it wasn't too painful to hand around while the "training" was happening. Both guys were very friendly and soon we were all on our way. Our garage door was much smoother and I feel good about having it serviced by Metro.

The service was great overall. The cost was very reasonable. They could’ve sold us a new garage door, but were very honest and only repaired what needed to be repaired.

When I called, Metro set up a time for a technician to come take a look. They give a window of 4 hours, which is a bit of a pain, but the technician was prompt and called before he came. He figured out the issue right away and gave me a choice of repairing the stripped gear or replacing the opener. I opted for repair, since it was cheaper - the technician supported the choice and quickly made the repair. Hard to know how competitive the pricing is since I didn't shop around, but since they installed the opener and it has worked with no problems for 12 years, I was happy to have them do the work. The technician was professional and friendly. The door is working great!

Very routine. Thechnician showed up on time. Did the job and left.

When done the door moved much more smoothly and quietly and continues to operate well.

The serviceman arrived on time, quickly and effeciently serviced the garage doors. He pointed out some potential future problems, but did not try to "sell" us anything. I was very happy with the service call.
