At the time this all occurred, we were not Angie's List members. We loved (and still love) the flooring that Robert Nassif (owner) sold us. It was spendy ($7.50 per sq ft) but he said we would be sick of it before it wore out, and after 3 years, I have no doubt that will be true, if I can stand it that long. Our problem was with the install. In fairness, I will say that our bathroom is a funny shape and was no doubt extremely difficult to measure. The first install went fine, though I thought the installer was sloppy in his work and person. However, within a day or two, big puckers/bubbles (about 1 linear foot affected, with several ripples up to 3/8 high and 6" long) showed up along one edge. We put weights on them to try to flatten them out, and they would seem to go, but then would show up again within a day or two. I called Robert and explained, and he said he would send "his best" installer this time with all new material (because he felt that the first material was cut wrong.) (This turned out to be true). There was a delay of some weeks due to the special order for the material. I was impressed with Robert's willingness to try to make our situation right. The second installer showed up and he seemed like he knew more about what he was doing, but after he left l noticed there were two exposed edges that wouldn't be covered when we re-installed the baseboard that were sloppily cut. I was willing to try to live with this, planning to cover these with caulk. However, again, within a few days, there were puckers in the same place as before, though these were smaller than the first, but still easily seen the minute you walked into the room. I again called Robert numerous times and received no call back. In my messages to him I eventually even stated that I would pay his cost for the (third) new material if he would only arrange for it to be installed properly. After 6 months or so, I gave up, concluding he was out of business. I then hired a "professional" installer to come and a**** the situation. He described what was wrong (the material was cut wrong) and straightened the non-baseboard edges, and stretched and re-glued the material in the p***** area so that it was flat. He said he was surprised that he was able to do this, given how badly the material had been wrong, but sure enough within a day or two they re-appeared, but this time much smaller than either of the previous two times. At that point I was so disgusted, we finally re-installed the baseboard and have lived with the situation since. I just try not to look in that area when I walk into the room. Then today I saw the firm name with no rating on Angie's list and decided to tell my story. So there it is. Eventually I'm sure I will be frustrated enough to again pay to have the entire floor replaced. Right now I'm saving my pennies.
Description of Work: Tear up and dispose of old bathroom flooring, re-prepare surface, install new flooring. (We removed and later re-installed the toilet and baseboards. )
