Description of Work: I hired Kal"s to do a major remodel of my small main floor bathroom in my '50s rambler. I had prepped the room by doing some of the demolition and installing a new sub-floor. Kal replaced the old tub with a new cast iron tub, installed a new wall-hung sink, a medicine cabinet, and a new toilet. His subcontractors (all excellent) replaced all the electrical back to the panel, installed new lighting and a new exhaust fan, tiled the tub surround area, restored the walls, and installed a sheet vinyl floor and baseboard. The project started and finished on schedule, and everyone involved was pleasant and professional. Rick Kaliszewski (the owner) was responsive to all my questions and concerns. It's worth noting that Rick's bid was the only one I got that seemed reasonable to me. Others' were thousands(!) more.

+ -1 moreExcellent!!! From Rich fielding my phone call in the morning. This was after I placed at least 3 other phone calls to plumbers. After hearing that my house would be without water, Rich scheduled me in the early afternoon. Dale showed up at one PM. Right on time, in fact, I was late. We went downstairs where I showed Dale the problem. He agreed and then I showed him the 2 other areas which we wanted attended to. Dale went right to work and displayed a tremendously happy temperment. He told me what he was going to do and why. Since I am involved in machining and extruding metals, we hit it off. After 2 hours, all of our plumbing problems are solved and we are much happier for the experience. I would recommend Rich and Dale to everybody but not my enemies LOL.
Description of Work: Replaced a pipe(leaking) from water main to the rest of house. This included replacing 2 valves. Repaired outside water tap for garden hose. Repaired toilet.

+ -1 moreKal's did an excellent job. Their bid was very fair in price and their employees were extremely professional from start to finish. We purchased a contemporary Eurpean style vanity that had some tricky plumbing and Kal's knocked it out :) We had a shower part (trim piece) that did not fit right (we purchased shower facuet/head) and Kal's went out of their way to find a piece that fit. Cannot recommend these guys enough. They even found an issue from the previous plumber and fixed it with no charge. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Kal's plumbing installed plumbing for a new bathroom (shower, toilet, sink) in our basement finish as well as plumbing (sink and faucet) for our wet bar.

They did not deviate from that quote, arrived on time, provided the service in a timely manner, and left the area as clean as when they arrived. The follow up service was equally as impressive. They do go above and beynod for their customers. I would highly suggest Kal's to anyone looking for a skilled plumber in the Mpls / St Paul area.

+ 0 moreRick made two visits to our home--once to quote the job and then once to replace the softener. He is professional, punctual courteous and explained the work he needed to do. The cost for replacing the softener (parts and installation/removal) were very close to Sears/etc., and the softener he installed has a MUCH better reputation for reliability. It would have been helpful if he accepted a credit card (we're trying to rack up airline miles), but other than that it was an extremely smooth experience. Highly recommended.

+ 0 moreThere were no problems with the work. We wanted a 10-year warranty, so the plumber added an extra anode kit to the heater for $120. We were surprised that this new hot water heater cost a little less than the old one we had installed by the gas company back in 1998! At that time, the extra warranty period involved only paying more for the hot water heater; that did not include the extra anode kit. This Rheem-Ruud hot water heater provides noticeably hotter water for a longer time than did the old one.
Description of Work: Had a new 40 gallon gas hot water heater installed.

Everything went great. Rick was very professional and polite. Excellent work, fair price. Will definitely use Kal's Plumbing again.
Description of Work: We installed a vanity top in our 1/2 bath and hired Kal's Plumbing to hook up the drain for the faucet in the new sink. The new sink did not align with the old drain. He also finished installing the back and side splash for the vanity top.

+ -1 moreRick came right away and spent an hour trying to figure out where a leak in our kitchen ceiling was coming from, without actually cutting into the ceiling. He ended up replacing our master bath toilet a couple of days later. He only charged us for 1/2 hour from the first time he came out. And he offers a free one year warranty on the operation of the toilet he installed.
