We were moving homes with a week of lag time in between and thus needed to store our items. We rented a mobile storage unit and therefore only needed labor rather than a full-service moving company. I located The Super Movers on Angie's list and called them. I received a prompt call back and set up two separate service dates (for the move out of my house to a storage unit and the later move into the new house from the storage unit).
On the initial move-out day, my pre-booked crew of 3 arrived as a crew of 2. I was disappointed but they got right down to business, so I decided not to worry about the timing. Within 45 minutes, one of the two was sleeping in the truck as he was apparently very ill. They promised to send an additional mover to my home immediately. Approximately 2 hours later, a new mover arrived. They worked quickly, but I was disappointed when I specifically asked for certain items to be loaded first rather than others (for fear of things not fitting). They failed to load things as I requested and resulted in them unloading and reloading and spilling contents of boxes onto my lawn.
On the day in which they moved the items from the container into my home, the crew of 3 arrived promptly and got to work. Mid-way through the unloading - I started to notice that not all of the items were shrink-wrapped (as they were initially supposed to be) and many pieces of furniture were arriving chipped, damaged, and very dirty. I brought this to the attention of the lead mover who asked me to complete a damage sheet. In fact, he specifically stated that the owner "has insurance for this type of thing." I completed the sheet, paid the movers for their time and began unpacking.
As we began unpacking the boxes we noticed more and more damage to our furniture. I called The Super Movers to inquire about resolving the issues on the damage sheet as well as amending the list of damaged items. He offered to come out and see the damage. We set up a time for him to come to my home (a saturday at noon). I stayed home and he never arrived. I called him back to remind him and reschedule and since then he has not returned my calls or emails.
I have worked with other companies before and understand the damage is a fact of the moving process, but the lack of responsiveness and failure to even address this situation has led me to write this disappointing review.
I recommend avoiding this company.

Initially I was a little worried because I had scheduled a 9:00 AM start time. About 10 minutes before the movers were supposed to arrive I received a call that they would be about 20 minutes late. Then after 30 minutes I got a call saying that they were lost and that the GPS put them in the wrong location. After giving some directions the movers finally arrived but 45 minutes late. Luckily I was not in a huge hurry with a deadline that afternoon, otherwise that could of been difficult.
I hired the movers for the 3 hour minimum and when they arrived I showed them what I was looking for and what all was to be moved and they got right in and started getting the job done. They were very good at loading the maximum amount of stuff in the POD with still some left over room for the little things. I was very impressed with how well they took care of my boxes and furniture and took great care in loading everything so that there would be no shifting or there was extra padding to avoid and damage.
My husband and I did have to take apart all of the furniture when initially I had requested that the movers come prepared for that, however I think it worked out better because it gave the movers more time to move things instead of taking apart a bed and a crib.
Overall, it was a good experience. I would definitely use them again and plan on it as soon as I need to unload the POD. For a company that offers just the labor, you couldn't beat the price and how good they were at their job.

The captains bed is a wooden twin-sized box bed, a bit taller than usual because the frame has two levels of drawers below the sleeping surface. I had tried to move it downstairs myself, but had to abandon it on the stairs. So I needed someone to just move one piece. Most movers have a two-hour minimum. I called Super Movers (which was listed as College Student Movers on Craigslist) about 9 a.m. and they were able to come and do the move between jobs within the hour.
Eric and Willie called when they were ten minutes away. They were polite, got right to business, and carefully maneuvered the bed down the stairs and past a piano. I paid in cash and they gave me a receipt.
They quoted me a flat price of $100 and I did not argue. While this project did not take much time, I was having trouble finding anyone to do it for less than twice that much because of the standard 2-hour minimum. So on the whole, I think the price was fair, and it is what I was expecting to pay.
I would hire these guys again.
