Did not hire. Scheduled free estimate at Minneapolis Home and Garden Show with very pleasant woman. All further communication felt like bullying and belittling. I was told several times, after I had made it clear that I am the homeowner, that "all decision makers" must be present during the 2 hour estimate/meeting. I checked Angie's List, saw D rating and decided to go with my gut feeling and cancel. When I called to cancel, the sales person spoke over me and had no interest in identifying and addressing my concerns. When I offered my concern re: Angie's List rating, he responded, "What? You didn't like the A rating?" wished me well and ended the conversation. There are many other bathroom remodelers out there, I'll do business with someone else.

I would recommend them highly. They were good, the price was good, and they did good work. The gentleman that came and did the work was a wonderful guy. he just made it seamless. He was professional, yet kind and courteous. He just made it more of an enjoyable experience.

It looks nice but is less than functional. The plumber cut out a portion of the floor to replace pipes--which I still don't know why it was necessary. He did not replace flooring and now the tub sags in the center making showers less than stable footing. Bath Planet/ Great Lakes doesn't seem to give a darn and Brandon inasmuch told me to fix it myself. My last conversation with them was on Oct 8th when I told them my children have been instructed to sue them if I fall in the tub. The only way I see this getting fixed is to tear out the entire thing and start over. From the high pressured sales pitch, to the bait and switch tactics, then to crappy plastic faucet/ hardware and ending with a job that is "pretty" but not functional. They refuse to resolve the issues and I don't trust them to do it. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.
Description of Work: I needed a bath tub and shower surround installed.

The first day on June 6, the service person made an error and water leaked through our ceilings into the kitchen and basement. There is major ceiling damage in the kitchen. We have been made numerous promises to have the ceiling repaired. Our contact Brandon occasionally answers phone calls but never returns them. We did not sign off on the project as the bathroom was not completely caulked and the electrical outlet they put in does not work. The faucet on the tub is loose. There have been no arrangements made to come back to finish the project or begin the repairs for the damage they caused. My husband called the finance company, GreenSky, to make arrangements to withhold the second half of the $9000 payment to the contractor. The finance group agreed over the phone but we then found out the payment had been processed the day before without us signing off.

Description of Work: We contracted with Bath Planet Apple Valley on February 23, 2016 to have a new shower stall, sink and toilet installed. I purchased the sink and toilet and they put them in. The salesman measured the shower walls and told us in about a week another person will come out to re-measure the shower stall. I was told the job would take three days. False advertising, it took three weeks! After the second measurement Bath Planet came out April 11, 2016 to install everything. The toilet and sink were installed and work was started on the shower. The third day they came to install the shower unit only to find out the second person that came out to measure had measured wrong and therefore the unit would not work. So now they said they would have it done Thursday. When they came to put it up Thursday and found out there was no shower door. Following week they came out with door and put everything up only to discover someone ordered the shower door wrong, I ordered a right hinge door and they ordered a left hinge door. They asked if I was sure I didn't want a left hinge door! So now another delay. When I called and spoke with the owner of the store his comment was, I've never met the perfect person! In other words everyone makes mistakes. He said manufacturing made the mistakes and he has no control over them. I called Corporate and they pulled the paperwork only to find out Apple Valley store ordered the wrong shower door. The owner of the Apple Valley Bath Planet store needs to go to a people skills class. He treated me like I should accept what he was saying and I didn't believe him because of his attitude. He offered me a $200 credit and I informed him I was not writing a favorable review on Angies List and so he said then I'm not refunding the $200!!! Third week, finally got the shower finished. Inspector from White Bear came the following week and asked where my permits were and I said, I don't know, they were in the garage. Well when the job was finished everything was removed, including the inspection record. Bath Planet brought it to me a few days later. Bath Planet Apple Valley wants the business but doesn't seem to take responsibility for the people working for them or just doesn't care. | |I WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN OR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. On the other hand, Corporate was very helpful to me but they said they had no control over the Apple Store, I would have to deal with them. I was asking for half my money back. Yes, the job was completed, yes I'm happy with the results. To be treated the way I way by a person that deals with people every day is not acceptable to me.
