I hired to Aker Door to install a 17' steel garage door on a detached garage. I researched and received several different estimates, Aker came in very competitive cost wise. After hiring Aker they were are my home within four days and in three short hours I had a new door installed. Aker was very prompt and did a great job installing the door. I would highly recommend them for future service or installation.

We bought our garage doors from Aker back in June when we had our garage built, but did not have openers installed at that time. However, Mike did give us an estimate for openers at that time. After living without openers for several months, we decided to buy them from Aker and have Aker install them. Even though the price had gone up $9.00/door, Mike honored his bid from several months ago. The installer (have forgotten his name, but he was a very upbeat fellow!) arrived between the hours specified, and took about two hours to install the openers. He worked hard to install them correctly, was very courteous, and set the codes for the remotes as I requested. He also put lightbulbs in the overhead light, and showed me how to run everything. I am impressed with this company and would use them again.

My experience with them was okay. It was satisfactory. The brand that we purchased was very good. I was very impressed with the quality of the specific brand but I wasn’t particularly impressed with the technician that installed the doors. I would probably ask for a different technician or go to a different company to install the doors. The quality of their doors was good. I may use them again in the future.

Found Aker Doors on Angie's list and called them and two other top rated companies for a new Garage door estimate. Aker Doors staff were very friendly and professional. They helped me understand what to look for to obtain an "apples to apples" comparison of doors and prices without being critical of anyone else. I spoke with multiple peope and every one was very friendly and helpful. I chose a 2" polyurethane insulated Haas door with insulated window glass and Liftmaster 3/4 HP belt drive door opener with battery backup. Just before doing the install I received an email from Sears offering a similar opener with internet control. Called Aker and they happily updated my door opener to the same model at no additional cost. Aker doors came when they said they would, called ahead and promptly replaced the door opener when it was found to have a defect. We love the new door. It is so smooth and quiet and it seals perfectly.I have had a number of projects done on my house recently and I am the happiest with Aker Doors. Their price was about $200 less than a competitor for a comparable door and their service was excellent! I would highly recommend Aker doors!

Mike was helpful in discussing all the options so we ordered just what we wanted. He spent a lot of time with us. We purchased two high-quality doors. The installation went well. Several days after installation we noticed that one of the pieces of decorative hardware was missing. When we called and mentioned this we were told, "We wanted to see how you liked it without that piece." The missing piece had not been mentioned to us during the installation. They said they would order it for us. We had a couple of other concerns: since we had not purchased garage-door openers, we found that the doors were extremely heavy. We wanted them to be made easier to open and close by hand. After about a month of not hearing from them we called again. There was some confusion among the different employees whether our missing hardware had been received, but we finally learned that it was waiting to be picked up, so set a time for someone to come and try to address some of our concerns. Toby arrived bright and early on the scheduled day, corrected a couple of minor problems, explained our options to us, and went to work installing the missing hardware and installing two strong handles on each door to make them easier to lift from inside. He did what he could, but explained that because they were such heavy doors they had to be balanced just so. He did a great job. We are still trying to use them the way they are, but may have to consider electric openers in the future. I think they are a good company and we would use them again.

Sales person came to home and gave us an estimate. We ordered the garage doors at that time. They were "special" so they had to be shipped from the manufacture. When the doors arrived, we scheduled the installation. One man brought the doors to our home and did the entire job by himself in less than 3 hours. He was on-time, very fast, and courteous – very professional. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had with a service company.

The technician took the time to explain what the problem was, then he fixed it. He was pleasant and efficient. I would certainly call on them again.

They gave a quick quote on the phone that was very reasonable, scheduled an appt within a couple of days, showed up on time and did a great job and charged exactly what they quoted. Very good experience.

It was excellent! One of the company's co-owners stayed on the phone with me for quite some time to discuss my options. He was very patient and informative, and the entire experience was exceptional. I would recommend them to my friends.

The installer was quite friendly and I felt did a great job. He helped me with changing a broken light bulb in my garage without me even asking (saw me working and assisted me). He also nailed the weather stripping on the bottom of the garage door that was falling off. This was something I didn't ask him to do, but I definitely appreciated it. He was very professional and I would definitely use this company again!

Aker Doors were honest and upfront about the price. They picked a date that was convenient for me and they showed up on time. They installed it just fine. There were no problems.

They were awesome. The old door was very heavy so we had to replace the motor twice in ten years which we thought was ridiculous. I found Aker Doors by asking my accountant and then checking on Angie’s List. They were prompt, their offerings were very nice, they were able to provide a special-order door within four days, and the installation only took a half day. I like the range of products that they offered; they offer products from two different manufacturers so I could contrast style and price. They also provided color swatches so I could match to the siding and trim on my house. I thought they were very accommodating. My experience with them was excellent and the door itself is awesome. The door keeps my garage a lot warmer during the winter.

Great company! I'm a stinker for zoning in on any little thing I don't like about a company. This company totally impressed me. I had scheduled to replace the garage door pulley system because I had rigged it up myself and was afraid it was dangerous. It turns out that I didn't have enough room for the new system above the garage door. The person explained how what I had done was perfectly safe. Since there was a cost for the service call, he said he could install a garage door opener that would cost slightly more than the original job I had requested. I went for it and what a luxury! My old garage door doesn't get abused any more by throwing it up & down (it's really heavy), and it was so worth the money I spent. Every little detail was explained to me. Hire this company...you will be glad you did!

He made suggestions on the phone about the type of door opener that would work best for us. The technician showed up on time, completed the work, and explained how to change settings for the code and how to use the wall control. He also gave us a form for a rebate we can send to the manufacturer. The door opener works very well.

We could not get our car out of the garage, so we called them and they came out right away. Everything was done professionally and they were fine. We would tell others that we like the way they do business. Everything was great. The person that came out was going to be late, but he called me before hand and let me know and if it was okay if he still came later. He was very knowledgeable and knew what to do and took care of the problem.

We expected someone between Noon and 3pm and asked that they call when they were on their way. Toby called and showed up when he said he was going to. He was professional, courteous and very knowledgeable. He adjusted the garage door so that it closed evenly without a gap at the bottom. Replaced one roller and both cables. The $82.00 (rounded) cost includes a $79.00 minimum service call charge and $2.50 for a roller.

Great experience with Aker doors. As I was leaving for work, the (old) garage door wasn't fully open as I started to back out. OOOOPS! the door sprung out of it's track, its frame bent by the impact of the SUV. We had planned to have a new garage door and opener installed this fall but it looked like it would have to be that day since the door could no longer close! We hadn't even thought of what company we'd choose when we did the planned new door work. So...We checked Angie's list. Aker Doors was the first company we called since their location wasn't far from our home. They could come out within 2 hours plus put in the new insulated door (that matched the other garage doors in our townhome association) and opener that day. In 1.25 hrs they called to say they were on their way; by 20 minutes later, the OOOPS! door was out of the way and I was on my way to work. My wife, who had taken the day off that day, worked at home while the door and opener work was done. The work, clean-up and removal/disposal of the old door and opener was done with excellent workmanship, professionalism and minimal disruption of our day after the OOOPS with the door. We didn't have any clean-up work to do after the installer left. And already we love having an insulated door!

After getting a recommendation from a friend, I called Aker and talked to Ken. I told him the rough dimensions and he gave me a price for a regular door. After thinking about it I called him back and decided to have the work done. While talking he gave me the price for an insulated door and I decided it was worth the extra money (about $90). The next day he came out and measured the door and set up the installation for the following day. The next morning the installer called and said he would be here in 40 minutes. 40 minutes later he was at the door. A couple of hours later it was done. Several day later I received a nice thank you card and magnet from Ken. I thought that was a nice touch. It has now been about a month and the door still looks and works as great as the day it was installed.

Working with them was a great experience. They quickly provided an estimate, recommended the best doors for our house based on what we were looking for and the neighborhood. When we choose to purchase they were right on time, worked very quickly and professionally. It only took 3 hours for them to complete the job. They cleaned up everything really well.

Springs snapped at 7:00am on a Wednesday. Called the company and arranged an appointment for the after noon. The repairman had arrived on time. He was very courteous, professional and skilled. He explained the work prior and was done within an hour. I am so very happy!

Aker Doors was great. Ken came out to see the garage and give me an estimate. He was clear and professional. I had a few other companies come out for estimates, too, and Aker's bid was competitive. I had some time constraints on installation, and they were able to accommodate my schedule. The door was installed quickly and the workers did a very good job. The people at Aker Doors made it a very pleasant experience - I would highly recommend them!

Went great, they installed it the day after it came into there wharehouse. it was a custom size. it looks great.
