Jim Byrd Plumbing

Jim went above and beyond for us. Our water heater (not purchased or installed by Jim) sprung a leak on a Thurs. The tank was under warranty, but the store didn't have one in stock, but "might" be in Friday's shipment. I needed to find a plumber that "might" be available to not only install it "if" it came in, but also be willing to pick it up, as we didn't have a vehicle that could handle it. We didn't want to have to pay weekend rates for an install..so the choice was find a plumber that would work with us on trying for a Friday install, or wait until the water heater came in for certain and have to be without hot water for several days. Jim worked with us on this and even said he would be willing to come on Sat. if need be. Gratefully, the water heater came in Friday am. I was able to contact Jim in time for him to pick it up and install it for us in the afternoon. He was very thorough on the installation, making sure everything was done correctly. And showed us how our last installation fell short of the mark on some things. We appreciated his wanting to be sure things were done right. And we very much appreciate his willingness to work with us on the "if" factor. He could have just told us to call and schedule after it came in. Thanks, Jim! We are enjoying our hot water again!

I called Jim Byrd after we had a water pipe froze and burst in the wall. I was able to shut off the water to that area so it was not an emergency but water was still out in most of the house. He came out to my house with in a few hours and capped off the line. I also ask that he install a shut-off valve farther up the line so in the future I wouldn't lose water in my bathrooms or to the hot water heater if this were to happen again. He did that for me also. I thought his charge which was under $200 was VERY fair and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who needed a plumber. I would also like to state that he was very neat and removed his shoes several times as he went back and forth between my house and his truck for tools and supplies. Just a good guy to call when you need a plumber! Highly recommended.

They were punctual and cleaned up after themselves. Everything was fine.

His price was definitely reasonable. Definitely, now it is draining. We’ve been using him for 15 years. He always comes when he says he is going to come. We usually have to give him a call and he’ll call us back the same day or within a few hours if he is available. We’re senior citizens so we get a little senior discount. He has an apprentice who works with him and he probably is a full blown plumber by now too. I don’t know exactly how much big work he takes on but for the things we need, like we had our toilet tank cracked and we needed our toilet replaced, and he took care of that. He’s just basically an all around good guy and my husband feels very comfortable using him. He is our plumber.

My experience with them went well. To the best of my knowledge, he is not a company, but he works by himself. He is very professional and very helpful in explaining what is wrong with your plumbing rather than just saying that he will fix it. He explained to me what the problem was and what the parts were those would be needed to fix it. He cleaned up after himself. He was very clean and wore shoe guards when he came into the home.
