We offer a huge array of window treatments for every budget. We are also able to offer a "No Questions" Lifetime consumer assurance warranty through our preferred vendor. We are proud to be branded by Hunter Douglas.
Although we are happy with the quality of the blinds, we didn't have a good experience with our original order / installation in 2014 and have also encountered service issues of late. For the original order & install, there was a delay in the delivery of the blinds. Not a big deal… these things happen, but in dealing with the issue, I found Debi to be unaccountable, unprofessional and somewhat rude. More recently we needed some service on the blinds and I've encountered a similar attitude. After the service process was underway, I sent them a simple email requesting an update / confirmation of the parcel pick-up. Instead of a straightforward answer, I received a snide and condescending comment as a reply. The lack professionalism and basic tact in dealing with their customers is laughable. I would not recommend Debi to anyone… for anything.

In our perfect world, our manufacturer's will always get everything right 100% of the time and the FedEx drivers will never ever separate cartons and labels so that we can look good to our customers just as we promised when we originally instilled confidence in our customers on day of consultation. However, regretfully my perfect world is often shattered by others that I count on to make me look good every day and it is always unsettling because it involves my customer that I promised to take good care of. With that said, I do know that before our installer even left the home; I was notified of a valance that was missing in action. I was on the phone immediately contacting the vendor to take care of this and let the customer know that our installer would be contacting him to schedule the installation. When customers call or email to ask how soon something will arrive, we can only promise that the minute it arrives, our installer will contact them because we are not in control of the process of it being made and shipped in addition to our installer squeezing this in for us and we don't want to give our customers a timeline that might further disappoint them. If we tell them 2 weeks and it comes in 3 weeks; then it is just one more disappointment. But we do make sure that this is taken care of immediately on our end and we inform our customer as such. We also profusely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We know that this may upset some of our customers who want immediate answers we cannot provide and if that makes us look bad in any way; we so apologize and this is not our intention. Our intention is to move swiftly to get them what we promised. A side note: Although there is no question that this customer had to wait while their valance was remade (and again we apologize for that), I am confident that they love the look that we were able to create that no other company could provide for them with the beautiful Keystones that cover a scored split down the middle of their side by side blinds. In addition, I have noticed that they had a problem with a blind. We were contacted that there was a problem and we actually had the manufacturer send a box directly to their house with simple instructions to put the blind in the box and to let me know when they had it ready to go. Upon hearing from him, we contacted the manufacturer to have them issue a call tag to have it picked up right off of their porch and sent back to the plant for repair. Upon completion, we had it sent directly back to him. There was no cost for this and he never had to leave his house and take it anywhere. We did all the work for him which was our pleasure. We understand time to time someone will write a bad review because they are angry and they will even call us rude because they didn't like our truthful answers about not being able to give them a specific timeline. We cannot be accountable for different personalities that perceive things in a certain way and make judgements based on that. What we will be accountable for however, is knowing that we pride ourselves on the high level of integrity that we have both as individuals and as a company and bring that into our customer's homes every day hence why this customer chose to purchase our products and do business with us in the first place. It is because of this that we have reaped the benefits of all of our repeat and referral customer base. In closing, we feel horrible that there was a mishap with the plant and then worse yet with the shipping however being homeowners ourselves, we know that things do happen. We just don't want it to happen to us and we know that when it does, we get angry too. However, we don't allow it to diminish ultimately what we chose to buy or who we chose to buy it from; just a lot of frustration perhaps until it gets squared a way.

We were extremely pleased with both the sales part of our encounter, as well as the installation and final result. We would highly recommend Budget Blinds (Deb and Hartly) for your window covering needs.
Description of Work: We have a fairly large sun room that needed blinds on two full sides, which meant 8 sets of blinds. Deb and Hartly came to our house on time and were very professional. They had various samples of blinds that would work for our application and were very helpful in making a choice that served our needs.....blocking the west sun. Both Hartly and Deb were very personable and very accommodating. Our blinds were installed on time and look beautiful. Our sun room now looks better than we imagined that it would. The blinds really softened the look. We are very happy with the quality of the product and find that the blinds are easy to work and maintain.

Professional and had good suggestions. Installer was quick and thorough. There was no indication, however, of who the manufacturer of the blinds was. Although Budget Blinds indicated there was a lifetime warranty, neither the name of the manufacturer or the warranty was included on the invoice or any other documentation we received. Information left by installer was limited to a generic booklet that did not include the manufacturer, model, warranty or any contact info. Hopefully this won't be a problem in the future.

Although the manufacturer used to have hard copy warranties that we would hand to our customers to fill out and send back; truth be told...they received very few back and decided in digital times to do away with the paper warranties. With that said, once we place an order for you, you are automatically registered and are in their system referenced by last name and order number. We ask all of our customers to retain their copy of the invoice that indicates the date of purchase and product so that we can find you easily and address any problem that you may have. To reiterate what we said in your home, this is our preferred vendor Custom Brands Group which is a subsidiary and owned by Hunter Douglas. Custom Brands and our Corporate agreed upon our branded name of Enlightened Style to separate us (Budget Blinds) from everyone else in the industry. As an exclusive, you have a "No Questions" consumers warranty even against abuse on each product and a "wear and tear" for life above and beyond the manufacturer's lifetime warranty. If you should need any assistance, you may email us with your order date and contact information with issue and on what line item and we will take care of you. Enjoy your blinds!!!

They were very professional, knowledgeable and guided us to what was best for our home. They kept us informed on our order and promptly schedule a professional installation. What they advised us to put on our windows was absolutely perfect and beautiful. About a year ago, I broke a small piece of a cord. Debi had sent me the replacement part and a few more-just in case I was too h****** the cord again. About a month ago, one of our painters damaged one of our silhouette blinds. I instantly called Debi. She asked that I send her pictures of the damage and she reviewed the photos with the manufacturer. She ordered a new one and it arrived and was installed in about a week. They are the best!
Description of Work: Debi and Hartley provided the original window treatments and installation throughout our home back in July of 2014. They came to our new home and suggested what would be best for our use-even though it was different and less expensive than what we originally thought we wanted.

Description of Work: A husband and wife tag team. Rushed the selling process. I felt pressured to place my order and I did. However, when they left my property, I discovered their vehicle left a big oil spot on my brick paver driveway. When I advised them of the problem, they denied it. (I also had witnesses to the event.) The husband came out to look at the oil spot, he made no attempt to apologize and ignored me. Then the wife goes on the defensive with a very long email denying their vehicle was at fault. Needless to say, I cancelled my order and put a bank stop on my deposit check (which was substantial at 3/4's of the total cost of the blinds). My opinion is that if I had a problem with my blind order, they would go on the defensive again and would not resolve the problem. I have since contracted with another company for my wood blinds at a much better price. Budget Blinds is not competitively priced and not budget!

What a shame that we have been so misrepresented. Although there were no grades for Quality, Responsiveness, Punctuality, and Professionalism; they were most definitely applicable. It is because of our promptness, our quality of blinds with exclusive warranties unprecedented in any industry, and our professionalism that we together with our customer were able to make beautiful choices in window treatments for her home. We did not force anyone into a sale but rather help them make decisions that they can feel good about and will enjoy for many years to come. We had a lovely conversation and a wonderful experience while in her home and feel genuinely bad that an incident that occurred marred that experience. In regard to price, we understand that if customers want to buy something "cheaper"....it's certainly out there but we won't compromise ourselves on quality of product because when we do that, we ultimately compromise our customers. We sold her a product that we can feel proud of and she loved what we brought to the table and knew that it was quality. That is only one of many reasons that she purchased from us. We are confident that she wouldn't have signed a contract that had an overall price rating of "F". In regard to Responsiveness, we have cut and pasted an email that we sent to our customer which we believe speaks volumes of who we are personally and as a company and addresses our immediate Responsiveness. Hi [member's name removed] Your cancellation on the order you placed with us for blinds is so noted. Please be aware that we had not deposited the check yet and it has since been ripped up. We are sorry that we will not be able to service you but please know that we pride ourselves on our integrity in business and on a personal level. With that said, it is unsettling for us to feel that our character and business ethics are being questioned. When we received the phone call from you stating we had leaked motor oil on your driveway, we questioned it because we have not had any problems and our garage where we park the van is stain free and clean. With that said however, we immediately took the van to an oil place to have it checked out. Not only were we concerned that we might have damaged your property but we do everything that we can to maintain our vehicles as they are our means of making a living. We were glad to find out that we got a clean bill of health and that they in fact found no oil leaking and that all of our fluids were full. At that time, we sent you the picture of the bill via text letting you know of our findings. Your response was that it must have been a freak occurrence. Being still very disturbed by this and concerned, I called Hartley who was working way out on the east side in his own vehicle with our other business and asked if he could cross the city and investigate the situation as I was still doing Budget Blinds work in Bloomfield Hills for the rest of the day. I had asked him to take pictures as the only picture that you had sent was that of the actual stain but not of the whole driveway. This is not the likes of a Contractor that walks away, or doesn't answer the phone never to be seen or heard from again. This was us being genuinely concerned and wanting to try to determine what had occurred; hence our immediate responses that same day. Hartley drove over an hour and a half out of his way to check out the situation, took pictures of its location and try to determine what the stain might be. It was not his intention to disturb you or be confrontational. There was no disdain on his face. He had a customer who was waiting for him on the east side when I asked him to go to your house and he took some pictures which is what I had asked him to do and needed to get back to his customers and certainly avoid any confrontation. What he does believe is that the stain is not motor oil but a lighter oil usually used with power tools or tools that have a gasoline motor. It was too clear and too light to be motor oil, but there was definitely an oil base to the stain. What we don't understand is that if your Contractors saw something leaking from our van, why would they not have knocked on the door to alert you and/or us of the situation. That did not occur. In addition, when we left, we saw them in the driveway and as a nicety; told them to have a great day. And they mentioned nothing to us about anything leaking from under our van. You have had many Contractors working on your home and many vehicles on your driveway. We went above and beyond to have our van checked out immediately after you notified us of the situation. Have they done the same? Once again to reiterate, in no way did Hartley intend to be rude and we feel bad that you interpreted his good intentions negatively. We did some investigating with three different individuals and they recommended that using Dawn dish detergent with a soft broom with Hot water from the tap should act as a degreaser and remove the substance. This is only a suggestion that was given to us that we are passing on to you if you wish to use it. We again pride ourselves on our work ethics and the integrity that we have with all of our customers and we enjoy the rewards of our success with our huge repeat and referral base. We say with confidence that you too had confidence in our company and in our ability to deliver before this mishap put a gray cloud over the business transaction. Can't say enough about how pleased I am with this service.
Description of Work: These 2 are great. They came out and measured the windows and made recommendations. Once the order was taken, the blinds were delivered ahead of the promised date and professionally installed. I couldn't be happier. I will use them again when I need new blinds. The only negative statement I can make is the installer left the large boxes for me to recycle. I would have preferred he take them back in the truck with him.
