McNab's Hardware Inc. - Do it Best

Description of Work: I am usually in McNab Hardware two or three times a week. I’ve known them for 30 years. Guys like me go in asking for help on how to do something. Sometimes I can figure it out myself but sometimes they just know where things are. I was in there last week because I was looking for a particular kind of spring that holds the cover on a 1977 Honda Goldwing motorcycle. The spring that holds the back trunk fell off. I couldn’t find one anywhere; I went there and found one that would work. It’s not identical but it works. There were about five springs that would work and because I know them they let me take all five springs and bring back the four I didn’t use. I can’t say they do that for every customer. They sometimes sharpen my lawnmower blades; they did that last summer for $10 a blade. To replace the blades it would have cost me $50. The big box stores are driving out the little stores but you just can’t get everything at the big box stores that you can at the little hardware stores.

Description of Work: Replacement of a single large window screen (the fabric portion) that my son destroyed with a garden tool.
