Dr Sweep

I was not happy with them. They did not perform the services they said they would. They said they had the tools to unclog a down pipe. They did not have that and they did not bother cleaning it.

Worker arrived on time. Explained he would not being cleaning the chimney from the roof Was told there was a fireplace downstairs Was left alone to clean upstairs fireplace After 20 minutes worker announced he was done Did not clean the downstair fireplace I forgot to ask since the downstairs fireplace is rarely used.

Company called and confirmed our appointment, which I appreciated. They gave me a 3-hour window of the time they would be there. Nathan called about 20 minutes before he arrived and said he was on his way. When he got here, he was friendly and courteous and did a very thorough job. He also explained everything he did and why. I feel confident our fireplace/chimney is safe and ready to go for next year.

He called me the next day to say they would be a few hours late. I didn't hang around. I don't know if they ever came to do the estimate because I have not received it.

The overall project was handled very well. Would recommend them to everyone.

He was on time. Made sure he did not make any mess. Was very professional and honest.

They did a good job, were very nice and polite, however I had to clean up after the mess they left.

I called for an appointment and it was set for between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m on 3/27. I received a call at 12:00 p.m. informing me that the estimator was running behind and he would be there around 1:30. I received another call around 4:00 p.m. from the estimator who advised he could be there in 30 minutes. Another hour went by before he showed up. He completed the on-site estimate and advised he would have the proposal to me the next day via e-mail. I never received the estimate via e-mail and waited an extra day just in case. When I called on 3/29, he seemed surprised that I didn't receive the e-mail and that he would get it to me the next day. I'm still waiting on my estimate and have since cancelled the deal.

Dr. Sweep sent a person to Both jobs were completed, but I disappointed with the mess they left behind. I've had other chimney sweeps cleanup all of the mess swept out of the chimney, but this was not done on this job. I had to clean up the mess myself, including the hearth. The sweep was able to show me why the smoke was not going up the chimney, which was the real reason for having the cleaning. He provided an estimate to make the needed repairs and the office called back to see if we wanted to schedule the needed repair work. The scheduling was easy and the person actually arrived a couple of minutes early. The price available to Angie’s list members was very good.

Scheduled an appointment for a sweep and to have my fireplace and chimney mortar joints tuckpointed and repaired. The tech did the sweep and that went okay. ( i have no real way to determine that though). Although he said he would be able to do the sweep and the repair when we scheduled, he said he would need to come back to do the masonry work. He came back the next week and did the fireplace. Although he said he would be able to do the fireplace and chimney repair, he was only able to do the fireplace because it got too dark. We would need to reschedule the chimney repair. (We're now up to three visits for a relatively simple job.) Long story short, he did not make the third trip to repair the chimney. His tuckpointing of the fireplace was awful. Bad mix, bad workmanship, etc. The replaced mortar crumbled out of the joints. I could literally pick the mortar out of the joints with my fingers. When he contacted us about the chimney, I told him about the problems with the fireplace and that we wouldn't need his services any longer. I was surprised to see a bill for the fireplace repair a few days later. I called about the bill, and sent the manager some pictures of the fireplace work. after looking at the pictures, the manager apologized and said that it was a bad mix, bad workmanship. He then offered me 20% off (I think) to redo the repair. I wasn't interested in saving what was basically 15 bucks. I redid the job myself.

While the price was great, the actual job was poor. I didn't double check their work (my fault) and my detailed, always cautious father checked it months later (no fires were burned) and pointed out all the ugly truth.

The company was very quick and efficient in their work. They showed up on time and cleaned everything up after the work was done. They were also very professional in their work.

Very well thus far. We will be contracting John to perform the work.

Very well. He took his time, explained everything he was doing. Covered floor and cleaned anything that needed to be. Very personable and professional.

Purchased the $75 chimeny sweep. Had a heave insert so they had to send a second guy to come out and help so they could pull the inser out. That was an extra $55 for the exra man. They worked quickly and cleanded up very well. No mess. I was pleased. However, I do wish they would have explained the report better. They did tell me that they recommended a damper but really didnt explain any points of their inspection.

They were very good. They were very professional and clean and I don’t have any complaints at all.

The company came first for the chimney sweep. We had their coupon from Angie's list. We asked about getting a chimney cap installed and were givien the information and price. They came back at a later date and did the work. No problems.

At that time, there was an Angie’s List special. He was very user friendly. He told me everything that I needed. He was prompt and did an excellent job. I have no complaints. I will use him again in the future.

Went well. They left the fireplace and house spotless.

They arrived late in the day a bit past the appointment time (1-5 pm) but phoned to let me know when they would arrive at my house. There were two workers. Both very nice. I was generally happy with the job they did, but they didn't empty the ash "bin" in the basement. I was not in the room when they scrubbed the chimney walls but they had the tools to do it so I am assuming they did. Most of the job seemed to consist of brushing any soot into the hole in the bottom of the fireplace. I asked if they were planning on emptying the bin and they said no, I would need to do that myself. I would have preferred that they do it they since I could have easily brushed the ashes (there were no fires in the fireplace since we bought the house) down the hole myself. I still had the messy job of dealing with the ashes in the basement. We have now installed a gas fireplace insert and don't have to deal with the mess! Much better! I will be cleaning out the dryer vent myself in the future. It is too easy and not worth the price. The workers were professional and kind, but the work was not quite the quality I expected.

We purchased the Angie's List Big Deal for a Chimney Sweep & Inspection for $74.00. We called on a Sunday and were promptly called back on Monday morning to schedule the cleaning and inspection. Robert came out on Monday afternoon and thoroughly cleaned and inspected our chimney & fireplace. He recommended a repair, the cost and when we should have it performed. We will definitely be calling Mr. Sweep in the spring for the repair. We are very happy with the service performed by Robert of Dr. Sweep.

He repaired the crack in the concrete wall he was great.

They arrived on time went right to work, They had some difficiultiesgetting the new linner down the chimminey but they got the job done. I have used the fireplace insert several times. The smoke use to back up in the chimmney. Now we have a great draft and not smoke. Good Guys.
