Dr Sweep

I work nights and told the people in the office that when they called the last time to schedule. I had been waiting for all the leaves to get off the trees and for them to be raked up before I called to have the gutters cleaned, and was going to call them the day they called me. Dr. Sweep was trying to get all the Angie's List Big Deals closed before winter set in. The technician was to come out Saturday December 8th between 9 and 1 and I didn't have to be home. The tech called about 10 to say he would be late (he arrived just after 1 and I told him I wouldn't be home when he came and that he had awakened me for which he apologized profusely, but I can't blame him because looking at the receipt it says on there to "Call at least 30 minutes before arriving". He cleaned the gutters in approximately 45 minutes.

They seemed to be competent and organized.

Property inspector required an inspection and cleaning of the chimney. While I was pleased with the responsiveness and ability to get an appointment quickly, I'm not sure that it wasn't a ploy to get me to spend more money on a repair. This is my first experience with this type of company so I can't say whether or not their prices are fair or opinion is honest. I need to get another opinion before agreeing to $650 worth of work.

I think this deal went well overall. I have not seen any clogs or problems.

Cleaning was fine. Employee was very quiet and did not speak to us while performing his work.

The Chimney Specialist arrived promptly. He smelled soot in my kitchen. Immediately, he went to check the boiler. He removed the pipe going to the ceiling. He preformed a 26 pt Safety Inspection. He cut off 3" of the waterheater pipe in order to make it the correct pitch. He removed the cover on the boiler and cleaned the pipes. He then proceeded to clean the chimney. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and pleasant. He explained the regular price of the inspection and how much I had saved with the Big Deal price.

It went fine. I appreciated that they hosed out the gutters. Many of our gutters are too high to see but the ones I can see looked pretty clean. There appeared to be some debris remaining and at the back of the house there was some dirt/debris on the siding from the hose-out. Otherwise they did a great job. We had a lot of leaves and debris in the gutters and they cleaned and discarded it on their own. This was appreciated. The office staff is very nice and helpful. Thank you!

Very nice young man, called ahead, was there on time, did the work in timely manner, cleaned the fireplace with no mess. I would definitely use their services again. The service tech went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied.

The service man showed up on time. It took less than an hour to complete the work I was disappointed that the "one of a kind" tool used to clean the gutters and downspouts was a common electric leaf blower. If I hadn't have been able to provide electricity, I don't know what he could have done. Although I provided hoses and water, neither the gutters or downspouts were flushed. I'm not confident that the downspouts are clean. The debris was not cleaned up or removed. I showed the workman the Angie's List add that stated that all debris would be cleaned and removed. He cheerfully cleaned up everything. He was a good worker, he just hadn't been made aware of the terms of the agreement.

Appointment scheduled in the 3PM - 5PM I reported to Dr. Sweep office that I might not be there at exactly 3PM but before 3:30 PM Office staff stated they would put that on the work order My neighbor reported to me that the technician showed up at 10 AM Wanted to talk to the technician since there was one trouble spot in the gutters Technician left a report that all went well, the gutter grates worked well and that there was one spot where there was a problem Have not been able to evaluate the performance of the technician since I was not there and it has not rained significantly since the work was done.

They came, they cleaned, and they were gone. I saw them when they arrived and when they were done. They told me I could use some gutter guards (although the trees that used to dump leaves in the back gutters have recently been cut down...boo hoo!) Everything went smoothly and they made very little noise. I assume the gutters are clean, but I'm not crawling up there to check. That's why I hired them!

Great way to buy and schedule. Chimney was cleaned and they instructed me on operation and future maintenance. They also recommended a chimney cap, which I purchased. The chimney cap was installed on another day when I was not home. There was a slight mixup on the service to be performed. However, they righted it pronto and everything went well.

I had Dr. Sweep come out to do a tune up on my gas fireplace, they did not perform the job as described, they didn't completely clean the fireplace floor, walls, etc., the fireplace does not light properly as it did before and the stones that were placed in the bottom of the fireplace were not placed around the perimeter, just in front - they must have ran out of stones? I called Dr. Sweep to complain, they sent someone out on 11/24 to review the work and to take picutres, I was told it was to fix the issue when I scheduled it. When they were out on the 11/24, I was told someone would call me to schedule a time to come out and fix the issue - hasn't happened yet! And by the way - be prepared to wait all day for a service person - they give you a 4 hour window - very inconveient. I will let them fix the issue since I paid for it but will never use them or recommend them to anyone!

Buying via Angie's list was easy. It was super easy to schedule and then I changed my mind and was able to reschedule for the day I wanted (Saturday after Thanksgiving). Received a phone call when Devon was on his way. Devon was upfront about extra charge, was honest, and explained what he was doing. Devon was efficient and there was no misunderstanding on payments. Overall extremely pleased.

Very professional. On time. Not only performed what was expected but also took the time to show me gas lines in basement, instructions on using the fireplace (it was part of new house), added some type of material to the fireplace so the fire would look better. I was impressed.

They did exactly what was stated within the deal. There were no additional charges. They did a good job.

We recently moved into our house and after one smokey fire, decided that we needed to have the chineys swept before trying another fire. They were very clean, explained everything well, very professional, very curtious. Only negative was that I had a scheduled an appointment for an earlier day and they canceled the day of the appointment. To their credit, they gave a 1-4pm timewindow and canceled right around 1pm, so I wasn't stuck at home waiting for them. I need some additional work on the chimneys in the coming months and will definitely consider them going forward.

We were concerned about the gas outlet and the logs we had, but he was very reassuring. Told us what we needed to do if we wanted to maintain the gas logs, etc.

I purchased the $119 special from Angie's List and Dr Sweep contacted me within 2 hours to schedule the appointment. The original appointment was for 11/16 and on 11/14 the company called me as they had a technician that was ill and had to reschedule us for 11/23. The appointment window was from 1 to 4 and the technician called me twice to keep me informed of his time of arrival, which was very close to the 4 PM outer limit. While the technician did the tune up I thought that the amount charged was high and while it was $80 off their normal price I felt it was not a good value for the services rendered. I answered the question about using them again a yes but that is only because there was no choice for unsure/undecided (perhaps something that Angie's List needs to seriously consider adding). I know that if I should need gas log service again I will do some serious price shopping.

Rob was very careful in protecting surrounding area while cleaning and vacuuming the fireplace. Very personable and explained what he was doing. Gave tips on future care. He repositioned the damper into its proper place for better efficiency. Identified a gas leak and gave recommendations on its repair. Rob carefully cleaned up when done. Excellent job!

I have been trying to find someone to do maintenance on my gas log fireplace for some time. Dr. Sweep was able to make a visit quickly and according to my schedule. The service person was on time and the work was performed promptly. The fireplace is now beautiful and works great!

I was very impressed with Dr. Sweep. They called to confirm appointment, the technician was very knowledgeable and left things cleaner than clean. Would definitely use again!

I was really pleased with how prompt Bill was to arrive and that he did his work quickly. I especially appreciated his thorough explanation about using the fireplace. This is the first home we have a gas fireplace and we were a bit nervous about using it. Bill gave me a complete demonstation and also watched while I opened the flue, turned on the flame to be sure that I knew what I was doing. We now make lots more use of the fire and love it!

The 2 young men who performed the service were on time, very friendly and professional .We were very happy with the job they did.
