Dr Sweep

It went very well. I've used this service (and Dean in particular) for fireplace maintenance and repair as well as cleaning of the dryer vent and entire vent line. The work is always well done. Dean is very knowledgeable - just a wee bit curious and chatty at times.

It went fine. They came out for preliminary work and then did the work.

Did not go well. have cupon on website for $152.00 for full service gutter cleaning with patented tool to blow out all downspouts. They would not honor the cupon due to my location, Port Huron (50min form Royal Oak), even though they claim to service all of southeastern mi. I said ok and agreed to pay $199.00 provided the tech can flush downspouts and check for leaks. Set up appointment for 10am-12 noon. Tech calls at 10am from Clinton twp (45-50 min) and says he is on way, gets here around noon. Big argument when he gets here about flushing out the gutters. "No way I can do that for$200, I'll be here all day!" I tell him the deal is off. He calls his supervisor and gets ok to flush and repair gutters for the $199.00. Great, but he did not have this patented tool and used my hose which I know has poor water pressure. He was very friendly after the initial argument was settled and it took him until around 2:30 to finish (about 2&1/2 hrs--not close to all day). He politely educated me about upkeep and of the gutters and maintaining my 2 flat sub roofs. The info on the sub roofs was not previously known and much appreciated. Well 1st rainfall since cleaning and there are 2 leaks I was worried about still gushing water...waiting for them to call back. Very skeptical that any checking for leaks was done and if the gutter where one major gush is overflowing wash even cleaned.

It went very well. They showed up, very efficient, and got the gutters cleaned. I can not go on the roof and check what they did. They seemed very efficient and polite. We had another guy here for an estimate and he said the chimney work was good.

Dr. Sweep was very efficient. They responded immediately to our call and scheduled the chimney cleaning within just a few days. The technician was very professional and completed the job in less than an hour. He also was very careful to clean all areas before leaving.

Great experience. Dr. Sweeps employees were courteous, professional and I was pleased with their work.

Connor did a great job. It was a pretty big undertaking. There are four sections to our roof, and we're surrounded by neighbors' trees. He went above and beyond to remove every bit of debris. We will definitely be contacting Dr. Sweep again for this tyoe of work.

Technician arrived on time and worked diligently on the vent. He wore shoe covers when entering the house and cleaned up the dryer area when he was through. Unfortunately, I found out after he left, that he had broken the dryer vent cover on the outside of my house. In its place, he left a wire cover that he made out of some wire he had in his truck. The openings were so large it was just a matter of time before hornets would set up house keeping. I called the office when I discovered what he had done and they said they would send him back to replace the vent the next day. The same technician did return the next day and he replaced the cover. He did not make any attempt to inform me of his presence and left after completing the job. The outside vent cover was replaced in a satisfactory manner. Update on June 22, 2013 - The aluminum duct joint that the technician took apart on my dryer duct work was found to be disconnected today. It is apparent the technician did not replace the metal foil tape that was originally on the joint, using regular duct tape instead. This is a gas dryer so gas was venting into my home. This is totally unacceptable workmanship.

Overall, did a excellent job.

Overall is Ok for chimney sweep. On time, broom sweep. The inspection is questionable and should have a 2nd opinion on that.

We have an extremely long run on our second floor dryer vent that requires us to do quarterly maintenance to keep the run clear. *The vent has a couple of 90 degree angles that does not provide the ideal venting to the outside, which is located about 24 feet from the ground. We hired Dr Sweep because we didn't want to deal with cleaning the vent from the outside (which was needed) The service tech was punctual and extremely professional. He also made sure that he put on booties and laid down floor coverings when working inside so he did not create any additional mess. He went into the attic to check the vent run and determined that the venting was not ideal (it had multiple 90 degree angles and was sagging in some areas). Since my original service was just to have a dryer vent cleaning, not a corrective action of fixing the vent - he just cleaned the vent as best as he could and I was told that I needed a second appt to fix the problem. What I will say is that it is extremely important that prior to making an appt for "corrective action' that you get the details of what that corrective action will be. I was disappointed in the final result (corrective action). I was under the impression that corrective action would entail a new dryer vent being cut at our dryer wall to reduce the 90 degree angles and a solid aluminum vent would be installed. What I got was simply replacing my existing foil coil vent material with a new one and the technician securing it to the attic rafters. Still experiencing the venting problems I used to, just not as bad. While I did "like" the technician - I think it was a major miscommunication of expectations of the work to be done on both ends that I wish he had done a little more to try to accomodate my expectations (like provided a hard aluminized vent versus the same venting system that is likely to provide me with the same failure again in the future)

Adjusted logs, cleaned grids, checked flames and drafts.

They did a good job. I'm very happy customer.

Very polite, pleasant individual. Very efficient office personnel, a woman called me to set up the appointment and could not have been nicer.

Owner John White visited our home on 03/15 to review the required masonry repairs to our lower patio brick and provide an estimate of repair costs. In addition to the repairs I had identified, John and I walked around our entire home and identified additional areas requiring repairs that I had missed. John was friendly and very professional and advised that we were smart to have these repairs performed before any damage to our brick occured. On 3/28 "Will" arrived promptly at 1:00 PM to perform all identified masonry repairs and was finished in approximately 2 hours, including identifying and repairing a few additional "minor" areas. Will was personable, friendly and a true professional. All repaired areas look great and the quality of the masonry repairs is outstanding.

'The first person they sent out was new and forgot to measure for the chimney cap so had to come a 2nd time. The logs wouldn't ignite. Dean found the problem and fixed it. Even though it took 3 times to get everything fixed, the men were very professional and did a great job! I would highly recommend this company and will use them again.

I would highly recommend this company. They called me to schedule an appointment after I purchased the 'special deal' which was being offered for cleaning and replacing stones in a gas fireplace. I loved that they followed-up. The last time I bought one of these specials I forgot about it, and ended up missing the expiration date. The young man who came out to work on my fireplace was professional and courtious. He fixed my fireplace, that had not been working for quite a while, at no extra charge by clearing the debris that was in the gas line. He also inspected the chimney, cleaned the fireplace box, and replaced the stones. My fireplace is clean and working wonderfully!

We had a fantastic experience with Mr. Sweep. I called to make the appointment on a Thursday and was told they could have someone to my house on the following Tuesday, between 1 and 4. Connor arrived at 1:30, took a look around and got right to work. He was very polite and professional. He did a great job and was done in what I thought was a relatively short amount of time. He took all debris with him and even cleaned the mulch and soil off our driveway that was left due to our previously leaf-filled gutters! I would definitely recommend Mr. Sweep to friends and plan on calling back in the fall to have our gas fireplace cleaned. Great work! Highly recommend!

Fine. No problems, no issues, no complaints or concerns.

Excellent. The removed and re-tuckpointed all of the cracked martar in between the bricks on my home and did a great job. He matched the mortar color to the existing mortar on my home so you can't even tell it was repaired. Best price by far compared to the other quotations that I received and great service.

Very well, I am continuing to use the company for installing a wood burning insert into my fireplace.

I was very impressed with the overall service and professionalism I received from Ray at Dr. Sweep. He was on time for both appointments and did the work very quickly. He also cleaned up any mess around the fireplace that had occurred from the re-cementing and general inspection. I also learned a lot from him about how fireplaces and dampers work, so bonus there. I will definitely use Dr. Sweep again for regular maintenance on my fireplace.

The person who came was very professional and fast. He had the unit inspected and cleaned within an hour. I will use them again in the future. The only negative is that I was not given a specific appointment time but a 4 hour window. I would have preferred a specific appointment time as I had to take off work to wait for a call that the person was on their way. Other than that it was a great experience.

The process was very efficient. The representative was friendly and professional.
