I think it was fine. I can't remember if I had any issues with it. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. After the big deal, I ended up getting the chimney repaired. There was nothing terribly wrong. I felt they could have done better. Ultimately, they got that done.

They were OK but they weren't great. I bought a coupon deal to have my gutters cleaned. They had to come out a second time because something that I wanted fixed they didn't fix. I wish that they had recognized the real problem. They weren't really nice when they came out the second time.

Had a little difficulty scheduling appointments. Once I spoke with the owner, all problems were resolved. They did great work.

Arrived on time. Worked quickly and cleanly. Almost too quickly considering how long it has been since our last chimney cleaning, Did not watch the two person crew work, but appeared to get the job done. I may hire some one else next time to double check, since its impossible to tell what it looks like up there.

the person came on time, and was very nice -- performed what I asked, then tried to sell me a bunch of other stuff, that I didn't need -- I felt like I was at a car lot and then on the bill with the recommendations/quotes it listed that I had a furnace flute and fireplace flute and the both of the flutes needed caps and lining -- well I don't have a furnace flute -- then a sales person kept calling me and asking if i was going to do the follow up work that was recommended -- I told her that i was recommended things that apply to my home -- she said well you must have that second flute and just don't know it!!!! the quotes they gave for the bit of work that I did were over priced

We had purchased a big deal and we kept the job as simple as the big deal had described.

He did exactly what the company quoted everything went very Well. He was on Time, professional with his service, and clean after all repairs were completed.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was great, really good. We made the appointment and they came out the same week we purchased the coupon. We were very pleased with the service. They cleaned up after themselves because it was a bit of a dirty job and they just did an excellent job. They gave us some good advice regarding our chimneys. They told us that it was in excellent shape and we were really doing a really good job with the way we were dealing with our fireplace.

It was a pleasant experience. I paid more than the big deal purchase for the repairs that were done. They were responsive. They're professional and friendly. The job was done well. I didn't have any issues with the job. I was happy with their service. There were a couple of small things that stood out. There was a time when I was supposed to meet with a gentleman there to talk about some of the work that was being done. He wasn't able to make it and he wasn't able to call. I wasn't happy about one little thing. It wasn't a big deal.

The tech arrived at the time arranged and took apart the gas logs and clean them then cleaned the fireplace got the gas flowing again for the logs put everything back together and made sure everything was cleaned up. I definitely would use them again.

I purchased a big deal for Dr. Sweep. I did not spend more than the big deal purchase. Their job was fine. I didn't have any problems. They came and did everything. They were fine. I would use them again in the future.

A squirrel (or squirrels?) had set up housekeeping in the metal chase of our chimney (we have a wood stove). I saw they were dragging twigs through a broken chimney cap and after removing the metal cleanout cap from the bottom of the chase, I could see the nest. Try as I might, I could not loosen the nest from the bottom of the chase (it was really packed!) so I knew I needed a pro to do 2 things: Get rid of the nest and replace the chimney cap with a new one. Dr. Sweep was the first to respond to my request, and based on the positive reviews on the HomeAdvisor.com website, I hired them. (Unfortunately, I should have looked more closely at the negative reviews here on Angie?s List). I was told prior to anyone physically assessing the situation that there was an initial charge of $109.95 for cleaning and a 21-26 pt. fire safety inspection, and I agreed. Ray showed up on the 1st day and he couldn?t dislodge the nest from the bottom either. He said he?d have to special order the round, stainless steel chimney cap and would be back when it arrived. About 2 weeks later, Ray came with the cap and an assistant and they tried to dislodge the nest from both the bottom and top of the chase, again without success. Ray continually complained of the foul smell coming from the top of the chimney, poured bleach down it to try to get rid of that smell, and then, repulsed by what he described as ?screams?, left abruptly shouting I should call Animal Control. OK, now I, too, am freaked out and did call Animal Control (which would have cost me another $300 to assess the situation) -- they were to come the next day. But the next day, a calmer and obviously more experienced chimney sweep came and described a solution to remove the nest (I cancelled the Animal Control service), and said Ray would be back (when he too was calmer) with the necessary equipment. In a couple of days, Ray returned with a different, braver assistant (the 1st one refused to come back), was able to remove the nest with the new device, but had to drag a dead squirrel through the wood stove opening in the house -- the smell was horrific in our house for at least a week! Granted, this was a messy, smelly job, and I was glad the nest was removed and a new chimney cap was installed. But I thought an additional $200 for ?painting the metal chimney plate with heat resistant paint and securing it with self-tapping screws? was a bit over-the-top. (Ray had initially said he was going to replace the metal plate because it was badly rusted -- so instead he painted over the rust?). When I agreed to the $200, I guess I just felt sorry for Ray because he was assigned this awful job. But I was also disappointed a new metal plate was not installed as promised. And then, when I went under the chimney to make sure the nest was gone (it was) they had put some kind of ?sticky tin foil? on the bottom of the chase instead of the metal cleanout cap (which I put on myself). Also, I have no idea if a ?21-26 pt. fire safety inspection? was done. I had a hard time rating Dr. Sweep because the office staff was terrific as was the 2nd, more professional technician. But I would have expected our chimney sweeper, Ray, to contain his ?disgust? at the job so as not to upset the customer (me!) even more. And I really don't know if another Chimney Sweep company would have handled our situation differently. I just hired the first company that called (because I was desperate?).

I had to pay an additional amount but it was very reasonable. I have recommended them to other people.

Checked every aspect of the fireplace to make sure everything was working and safe. Cleaned where needed. Made recommendations of things that could enhance the efficiency, ease, and overall appearance of the fireplace logs. Removed everything and replaced when finished. Cleaned up any mess. Was exremely professional, and though recommendations were made, there was no pressure to make the upgrades. Follow up call to see how things went and if we were interested in more work. Again, no pressure. Would use this company again for any chimney or fireplace services.

The gutter cleaning went well. Due to the high volume of business they got from the angie's list special, they were very busy and I had to wait before they could get to me.

It was ok. The person that came out told me that my dryer vent was unsafe and I should change it to one that is not as flexible so I did. I assume that he was right.

I did not spend anymore than the coupon. They came in and they did the job. They cleaned up the chimney. I used the coupon in 2011. Nothing in particular stood out about them. I would recommend them to a friend. I would give them top marks across the board. There is no need for me to use this service again. It is nothing to do with what they did. I don't need a chimney cleaned anymore.

He came out, disassembled the dryer duct and ran his wire brush through to get all the built up lint out of the duct. Done in about 40 minutes. He then reassembled the duct. There was a lot that he had removed from the duct but neglected to clean it up and throw it away. He left a pile of lint on the floor in front of the dryer and another pile outside in front of the vent. I thought it should have been cleaned up but I had to dispose of it. No big deal- actually it was a big deal purchase and although the actual cost was to be $120, the big deal cost was $89. Maybe the $31 was for clean up fees- It was worth it just the same. In his defense he was knowledgable and courteous.

Pleasant worker, didn't bring ladder quite long enough for 2-story house.
