To start with they gave me a time of 11 am to come and "clean" my house. They arrived two hours early without getting my approval. I had to have my neighbor take my child to school because they were so early. I did tell them though that 9 am would be good because my son would be at school and I would be back at 9 am. The "maids" that came to "deep" clean my house missed a whole part of my kitchen (never swept or mopped the area), we were told they would swifter the wood floors and clean the kitchen on the hands and knees. They didn't. There were obvious spots left behind. The "maids" we're boasting about how my kitchen counters looked "brand new" when there were very visible spots of jelly still on there. The completely ignored my landing and didn't vacuum it. They ask you to make sure if everything's done to your liking but I didn't know I had to inspect EVERYTHING they do. I assume, you're a cleaning company, I shouldn't have to spot check every little thing that do. And to top that off, the very first time they were here, there were talking badly about another client to me. They were laughing at how "particular" some people are.
We made a complaint about the cleaning. I took photos about 15 minutes after they left. For proof if they argued. They came back the next week they came again at about 8:55 am. I was surprised. They told they "switched their schedules" and I would be their first house of the day. Which I was impressed with. That time, they didn't have a toilet brush and asked if I had one they could use. I didn't have a problem with that at all. Except they left to scrubber on my bathroom window and the blue solution dripped all the way down the wall. And stained it. I still haven't gotten it completely out. I let it go.
But the next week, 9 am came and went and no call from the company to tell me that they would be late. By 10 am, I called the company. I was told they had called the prior night to "confirm" my appointment time. I acknowledged three times that they did did call. I explained my issue was that they never said they'd be late. "We only do that if we actually talk to a real person. We never leave it on the voicemail. And the time is always time frame. Your service is anytime between 11am-1pm." They then told me "I don't know why they would tell you that they would be there that early when they have another house before you." Again, I explained that the "maids" that came here had told me that I WAS the first house because they switched their schedule. I got back peddling. "Well, I don't why they would say 9 am because we don't schedule ANY houses at that early." So please tell me why the past two weeks they showed up 8:45 and 8:55 am?"
The "maids" arrived and my friend was over here. She had gone out to her car and they had just pulled up. One of them said "Thanks for the warning" and turn to the other and started whispering. No, "I'm sorry. We'll make it right." If my boss called me and told me that I wasn't doing my job right, "Thanks for the warning" would never come out of my mouth. When I let them in, they wouldn't even look at me. One of them took a razor blade and started AGGRESSIVELY scraping a spot on the counter. That was the last straw. Especially since the way they were talking about "problem" clients their first visit.
When the call was made to cancel their service, the office manager said about the maids attitude "Well, that's the individuals who are cleaning, not our company." Are you kidding me?!?! None the less, we canceled our service. As soon as the phone was hung up... they charged the credit card for "cancellation" fee.
This company lacks customer service and obviously do not know how to do their jobs. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

After a year's contract with these folks, during which their service declined until, at the end, they were showing up two hours late, I tried another service which left my house smelling bad. Wife wanted to return to Merry, and they promised to be more reliable. First time back never happened. Got call 1.5 hours before they were due saying they wanted fro come an hour early. I pointed out that I was not yet showered or dressed. Manager said that would result in their doing another house first, which ofd course would make them very late. I was outraged and told them to forget it. Very arrogant attitude from manager.

They are terrible. Have no idea how to clean a bath tub - went through 3 different cleaning crews and the last time (before I fired them) they cleaned the tub but didn't move any of the shampoo, etc. so the tub was clean (sort of), but the scum and crud was left underneath the shampoo. Every week it was the bathroom and one other thing they didn't do well - one week they didn't clean the floors (the splotch in front of the trash can was a dead giveaway), one week they put the sheets on the bed inside out.

I have been with them for 6 weeks. The first week, which was supposed to be the "deep cleaning" resulted in not much deep cleaning. They didn't dust the picture frames, kitchen cabinets or around the lamps (this extra cleaning is what you pay $280 for). The bathtub was still covered in soap scum and I had to do it myself after they were done. After bringing this to their attention, leaving the bathroom cleaning for them AND a scrubby sponge, the tub was still covered in soap scum after their next visit. On yesterday's visit I left them a detailed note describing how to clean the walls of the tub and to tell them to make sure they did the curved part towards the bottom. Well, that worked BUT THEY DIDN'T CLEAN THE BOTTOM OF THE TUB!!! I had to clean it myself. They did dust better, but I had to tell them how to do that too. They missed half the dusting the week before. I am done with them. I fired them today and am looking for a new maid service. They are terrible - even after 4 complaints they still can't do it right.

They send people in teams of twos, so they are not there too long. They listen well and are willing to use my product if I want them to. They are just very nice and do a good job.

They got to where they were doing sloppy work. They started sending one person for one hour to do the same job that they used to send two people to do and I was charged the same price. They are highly overpriced and they didn't get the work done properly.

They are very efficient. I don't have to stand and watch them. I've been using them for 11 or 12 years. If they were not good I wouldn't have them. They are very good and prompt. I will continue to use them. They are very accommodating and if I can’t make the schedule they are very good with that.

They are very very good. The quality of the work that they did and their price was very good.

Overall, we were not pleased with Merry Maids of Troy and would not recommend them to others. We ended the service and are currently looking to hire a similar service from another company.
