It was fine. It was great.

A couple of contractors bid on the concrete job and each raised concerns about the drainage in my backyard to the point where they were reluctant to take the job. Not Jim. He was able to take of the drainage issues without any problems. Several years later and we have not had any issues with drainage. When we hired him we were also not really sure what we wanted for the backyard. We had a lot of space to cover (about 500sq ft) and thought that stamped concrete would probably be better than a sea of regular concrete. He came back with a design that looks absolutely amazing is simply gorgeous. No issues with the concrete so far. In conversation with him we also learned that he did some construction so we hired him again to do a shed. End product has been great. Since we were so impressed with how he handled the drainage issue with the patio, we hired him to install a drain tile along our driveway to a street drainage ditch to alleviate some issues with water build-up that we were experiencing at the end of the driveway. So far so good, the drainage problems have been resolved. He even let us know about a city grant that would pay for half of the project. In sum, Jim is very reasonably priced, professional, and hard working (he was present at every job).
