He was here when he said he would be and stayed and finished the job.

I called Mr McDonald on 8/22/11, and left a message on his answering service. He returned my call, leaving a message on my answering machine saying he would come on the following evening to see what was needed. He came about 6 pm on 8/23 and went up on the roof to assess the problem. I could stand on the deck below where I could watch and talk to him. I could see the face of one brick hanging out and he just pulled it off and said that he would have to remove another brick to get to that one. I had told him that after a hard rain water would puddle around the base of the chimney in my basement. He said the flashing had pulled away from the chimney. He could see where it had been tarred many times. Yes, I was aware of that. Mr. McDonald gave me the name of a person who did the roofing repairs around chimneys where he was doing work - if needed. I told him to go ahead and call this person. At 8 a.m on 8/30/2011 Mr. Curtis Stanke of Curtis Stanke Construction, 2494 Oakridge Dr. Flint, MI 48507, (810) 234-6565 called to say he would be at my house in a few minutes to check out the roofing problems. He did arrive promptly, and went up on the roof to see what was needed. In the 10 years since the roof was replaced the flashing had pulled away and needed to be replaced. He needed to remove and replace some shingles and so left to buy the shingles. He told me the price would be $300.00. The original roof color was black but had faded to gray and he was not satisfied with the match with the first shingles he bought so left to see if he could find a better color. I told him to not be so fussy but he wanted it to look good. He found a better color and spent several yours doing the repair. He had to chip off a lot of old tar at first. When he had finished the cost was still the $300.00 first quoted. Mr. Stanke has a builders license as well as a mechanical license. I am very well pleased with the work of both these gentlemen. They were very professional.
