Deroche Construction

Driveways are not cheap! And they do little for the value of your home. But they are important. So, prior to hiring a contractor to replace our concrete driveway, I researched the do's and don'ts of concrete driveway construction, so I had a fair idea of what a knowledgeable and quality contractor should do. We solicited proposals from 5 different contractors, some of whom are listed with Angie's List. Our contact at Deroche from start to finish was Greg Deroche (I think he is the owner). We chose Deroche for four reasons: #1 - They had good ratings on Angie's List; #2 - Greg was very responsive and took time to carefully and thoroughly explain how he would replace our driveway; #3 - The information Greg gave us about how he would replace our driveway matched the findings of my research for how a concrete driveway should be constructed; and #4 - The price was fair (not the cheapest and not the most expensive). We worked with Greg to write up a contract that everyone was comfortable with - he accommodated us when we asked to add/change several things in the contract. When it came time to start the project, we decided to add an exposed aggregate patio to the overall job. Again, Greg was very accommodating. My wife and I both work full-time, so we couldn't be present for the construction. Greg would meet with us early in the morning, prior to us going to work, to show and tell us what was happening and answer our questions. If we had a concern, he responded and took care of it. It's been 3 weeks since completion and, so far, we are pleased.

I thought it went well. He wasn't the lowest bid but the work was done correctly. It only took a day and a half. He was in and out without any fuss. We were not there at the time the work was done.

I have used them before. They were recommended by a business owner I know. I liked this estimate. I liked how he conducted himself. He was straight and to the point. No BS. This is what it is going to cost.

They are a great company. They were very clean and courteous. They also answered any questions we had and did the job very quickly. It was a huge job and they did it in 4 days.

I was very pleased with his work. He did a very good job. He gave me a 10 year guarantee. He gave me a long list of references and his price was very, very reasonable. I will have him come out again to do my driveway.
