You wrote a review for CNC Systems 7 hours ago 5.0 star rating5/28/2020 As a retired military officer and service connected disabled veteran, I highly recommend this business to repair your computer. My first encounter, was a panicked situation when I could not submit an assignment. The owner immediately looked at the computer and identified the problem was within the school system based on the error message. He didn't even charge me. He truly cared. If anything happened with my laptops, which it did again, I decided to patron CNC Systems. The owner is honest, professional and exhibited the expertise required for a complete rebuild of my laptop which I use for research and my doctorate education. To my suprise, the cost so was exceptionally reasonable, I felt I was undercharged for the hours he spent for the repair. It is important for individuals to remember patience and that a lot computer repairs can be rushed. Always have a back up plan, which is why I have two laptops. I extend my sincerest appreciation for exceptional customer service. Respectfully NAVY NURSE

Description of Work: They sold me a reconditioned Lenovo laptop with no warranty as a replacement for my Samsung that had a broken receptacle where the charger plugged in. It overheated. I understood that I had to pay for a fix since I bought it as is, so I paid again to have him fix it. Again it overheated, then I saw on the Lenovo website that this model has a history of overheating. Owner Mark Clem is rude and condescending, does not return calls or follow up. I wrote him this letter and heard nothing. He probably repaired my PC again and sold it to some other unsuspecting victim. The letter- |I returned my G555 laptop for you to take a look at again back in late April. Have not heard anything from you about it since. | |If you recall, I bought this as-is from you (but with high recommendation from both you and Mike Northup). It overheated six weeks after I bought it for $250 December 12, 2014. I had brought it back on March 2, 2015 and you made initial repairs on the unit, that cost me another $127 including a new power adaptor. I had no problem paying for the repair since purchased it with the understanding that it was purchased as-is. | |You finally finished repairs and I took it home nearly five weeks later. You allege that I overheated it, and you wrote on the bill "Reflow CPU typically can only be done once, keep it cool." What did you expect me to do with it, set it on a 7 lb bag of ice? You sounded very reluctant to do anything further for me when I returned it again back then. You did not, however, write on the bill that you would not service it again if your work did not hold up. The work did not hold up. | |In retrospect following my independent research, I am convinced today that the issue that matters here has nothing to do with how I "overheated" this PC. I treated this PC the same as every other PC that I have ever owned. Rather, it has everything to do with the fact that this model of Lenovo PC was manufactured with inherent and well documented problems due to overheating, regardless of the identity of any particular user. If you look at Lenovo's own website, and numerous others, you can clearly draw the accurate conclusion that this model suffers chronically from this problem. | |That issue should have been well known to you, in my opinion. At best you were simply not aware of this when you sold it to me. At worst you were completely aware that this model in fact does have that problem and that you could have either simply scrapped it or sold it to an unsuspecting customer like me. Either way you win and the buyer (in this case me), loses. | |I feel that it was an exercise in poor judgment for a reputable business person to even attempt to rebuild or rehab this machine and then sell it to anybody. It also is insulting to my intelligence that you mocked the supposed "poor" quality of the other two PCs in my household ( an HP laptop and Dell all-in-one). They continue to work and have done so seamlessly for several years now. While you sell me a PC that is unfit for sale to anybody (i.m.o.). This is how a fair business person operates? | |My late father was in electronic service for decades. I can tell you that he would have never risked sullying his good name by selling any of his customers a product that would perform this poorly. He would have junked it first. It is bad enough that when I add up what I paid you for this PC would have been enough money for me to have bought a new PC. It gets exponentially worse when you blame the overheating on me, then write what you wrote on the bill. The laptop was long the choice of many a traveling salesperson like realtors and auto dealers. These people have paperwork, clothes and God knows what draped all around their laptops while they sit on a porous car seat. And the good ones stand up to it. | |This one can't stand up to anything. You said I overheated it by having a doily-thick tablecloth sitting underneath it while it rests on a wood table. |Really? Sure the fix was a one-time fix. Because the unit never served my needs. It should have been a no-time fix i.m.o. | |Regardless, do you have any intention of doing anything for me or not? Do you just wish that I would go away? I'm not going anywhere and this issue irritates me no end. | |Please give me some consideration before I consider escalating the issue. Replace it with another refurbished unit, get the one I bought working right, just do something. I trusted you to solve a problem by selling me a laptop PC to replace one that I accidentally broke the power input jack on. That was a huge mistake for me to trust you guys. My wife told me that I was making a big mistake buying your unit and told me that if I could be patient she'd help me buy a new PC when she got her next check. Now I sit here retired and on a fixed income and do not have the resources to get another laptop because I spent that money with you. Makes me feel like a dummy. $399 including tax buys this? | |

I clicked on what I thought was a you tube link and my computer froze. So I restarted it and a screen came on that had something to do with ISIS and said I was guilty of all sorts of horrible crimes on the internet. It said that I had to pay $400 through something at Walmart to get control of my computer again. It would not let me do anything else except see this screen. So the next morning I took the computer to CnC Systems to see if they could fix it. I was really worried because I have a lot of very dear family photos which I have neglected to back up. I was assured by the technician that everything would be fine and they could fix the problem and my photos would be safe. I guess I was more worried about the family photos than anything else but I was assured that they could recover the computer back to the way it was before I got this problem. I was given an estimate for the repair and installation of a virus program later that same day. I approved the repair as I was once again assured that the photos were all safe. By the next evening I received a call that the computer was fixed and ready to pick up. I went there the following morning to get it. The technician was so helpful and told me how I could prevent this type of thing from happening again and how to use the virus program to fix some things myself. When I got home and started up my computer I was so happy to see that it was just as he said. Everything was just as it was before I had the problem occur. I was treated kindly and courteously and quite frankly, they made me feel at ease about what would take place and that everything would be fine. I felt that I was in good hands and as it turned out, I was. I am recommending CnC Systems to all my friends and family.

the problem remained after the initial clean up and the computer was unusable. Took it back, same issues after 2nd attempt to fix. Took it back for the third time and they blamed the problems on me, and our poor internet service. I have comcast's fastest internet speed available and it works just fine with my desk top. There was no resolution they could not fix the problem and did not offer to refund my money. Subsequently we purchased a new Dell laptop and have not had any issues. I would not use this company ever again.

[Member name removed]'s description of what transpired is not entirely accurate. [Member name removed] brought in the computer with issues of the computer being slow and video not streaming on their computer. We removed 225 infections from their computer and uninstalled several malicious software programs from the computer that slowed the machine and prevented streaming video. We installed an antivirus program for them and [member name removed] even purchased another antivirus program for another computer they own. Some time later, they returned with the computer stating they were having issues. Noticing that some of the same malicious software was on the computer that we had previously removed - I pointed out to them that there were issues with software they were downloading - either intentionally or unintentionally. So, I took the computer back to the restore point we had set on the computer when it was in our shop originally. The issues were gone and that was demonstrated to them at that time. The computer was fast and ran streaming video flawlessly! After a time they returned again claiming the same issues. There were some malicious programs installed - but not enough to do any real harm. I pointed out that we can protect the computer from viruses and malware with the virus scanner, but we cannot protect the computer from the user continuously downloading malicious software. However, we could not duplicate their claims of anything not functioning. We ran the computer in front of them and everything worked flawlessly. The internet was fast, the streaming video was smooth and steady. I told them that it could possibly be their internet service being slow or that the connection was poor. At any rate - we could not duplicate the issues and they were witness to that fact. I don't know what else could be done. If the issue only arises in their home - one could only assume that the issue originates in the home. If they bought a new computer - of course the issue would not be present - yet! In time, with their computer habits, the new computer will undoubtedly contract the same problems. I haven't heard from the customer in months. Had I known of the continuing problem, we would most certainly been happy to get involved. I would have even been willing to buy the computer from them, as there were no physical problems with it. This computer was tested for over 24 hours running constant streaming video without a hiccup. The hardware was all extensively tested. The hard drive and memory were error free. The processor tested 100% functional. I can't fix what is not broken. And, I cannot fix a computer user's habits. I can only advise and smile! These negative reviews generally only come from those who do not take our advise. We never want an unhappy customer - and with the thousands of computers we repair annually - there is bound to be someone unhappy. We do our very best to resolve issues when there is an issue we can experience. But, when the issue can't be duplicated in our shop with our internet service - I can't do anything but advise the customer as to which direction they might look for a cause. Yes - we do keep complete records on all of our computer repairs.

What a complete scam. I took my laptop in there to be repaired as I didn't have time due to the opening of my business for the season. They offered my motherboard to be repaired within 10 days. I needed it before that. I asked him how long would it take to get a motherboard ordered and I'd do the work myself and he said at least a week. I still needed it before that and so was going to leave when the owner came out and said "oh, but it never takes that long if we send it out. I've never seen it take that long. It's usually less than 10 days". What a COMPLETE crock! They not only had my laptop for the 10 days but for over a month! When you try to call in to find out an update about your computer they rudely tell you "Did we call you? If we didn't call YOU then it's not done! Don't call us, we'll call you" and "NO we will not call to find out when it will be done. It will be done when it is done". Nice eh? Customer service a big fat ZERO! Well screw that! I called them every week anyway. THEN when it finally came back...as they don't even fix it themselves, they have to send it out to someone else to fix it as they obviously do not know how, they called me on a Monday and said it was ready. Mind you, I had JUST called that Saturday afternoon for an update and they said it hadn't come in yet. When I go to pick up my laptop he has now written on the receipt that they did a "72 hour heat test" on the laptop. What a crock! I just called them 48 hours before and they said hadn't even received it! He then lied to me again and said that it cost him more to have this repair done, BUT he forgot when I dropped off the laptop he stated that it was a flat fee and it wouldn't cost either of us anything over that even if they have to switch out the entire motherboard and he said it with a puffed chest pride. What a total D*****. He needs to up his Ginko intake! Now I get the laptop home and it isn't working. I should have turned it on in the store but because of the confrontation with this jerk I didn't and left. I had to pay him as they wouldn't give me my laptop if I didn't and I have data on it that I need. Oh BTW, the "heat test" he said he ran for 72 hours is nothing other than turning on the laptop and seeing if it over heats. There is no "test" proceedure other than that, though they want non-tech people to THINK they did something extra for them. Just a SHAM! DO NOT USE THESE D***** BAGS! Seriously. I have been an IT professional for over 15 years and these guys completely give us IT-ers a bad name! AVOID AVOID AVOID! They are old, out of date and try to take advantage of people who are not tech savy, unfortunately for them, I AM! They should be ashamed of themselves.

This is a total fabrication of "facts". I can't possibly deal with this level of mental instability. I finally realized what I was dealing with and refunded her money rather than be subjected to unneeded abuse and lies. I'd rather take a loss than deal with someone who regularly changes the "facts" to support her stories. You run into this type of client from time to time. It's all a part of doing business. Then again - that's part of the problem with referring to these types of websites for reviews. Practically anyone can post here. And, they can make any types of wild claims that they want should they get their feathers ruffled. It's a vengeance thing with some people. And rarely do my thousands of happy and satisfied customers write 5-star reviews. They're just happy customers going about leading their lives. For that, I couldn't be happier. I have been in business at the same location for over 26 years. And I do very little advertising. My mainstay is word-of-mouth referrals. And I'll be here for years to come because of them - we're that good!

Computer was not in my control- Hacker putting up random items up. CNC used every trick in the book to find hidden portion on drive. Saved all my data and removed virus absolutely great job said it was interesting challenge.
