ABCO Heating, Cooling, Fireplace & Chimney

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. THEY PUT IN A FURNACE ABOUT 12 YEARS AGO AND IT JUST DIED. I SPENT $6000 ON THE UNIT. THE SALES GUY JEFF SAID IT WOULD LAST ME 20-30 YEARS. I ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE UNIT IN 2016. THEY CAME OUT AND SAID THAT IT NEEDED A NEW PART AND IT WAS GOING TO COST $2000 TO REPAIR. I ASKED IF IT WAS A WARRANTY ISSUE AND THEY TOLD ME I VOIDED MY WARRANTY BECAUSE I DID HAVE THEM OUT TO CHECK THE UNIT EVERY YEAR. NO ONE TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO HAVE THEM COME OUT EVERY YEAR. I PAID THE MONEY BECAUSE I NEEDED TO HEAT MY HOUSE. SINCE THE UNIT DIED I CALLED A NEW COMPANY THAT CAME OUT. THE NEW COMPANY SAID IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY CALLED THE FURNACE COMPANY TO GET THE HISTORY OF THE UNIT AND FOUND OUT ABCO PUT IN A WARRANTY AND WAS PAID IN 2016. I WAS ONLY WAS SUPPOSE TO PAID $400. THE NEW COMPANY ALSO STATED THAT THE UNIT WAS NOT INSTALLED RIGHT. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND CALL SOMEONE ELSE.

They sent out a kid that clearly didn't know what he was doing. He didn't know the names to several of the parts of the furnace, which didn't instill very much confidence. When he inspected everything, he came back with a ridiculous quote, including things like duct replacement. They also said that the furnace was a "fire hazard" so the home insurance company wouldn't cover it, and they could make more money from me. They included all sorts of charges, and the woman I spoke to on the phone got snotty with me. They did absolutely nothing for me, and we were forced to spend more time and money trying to get someone else out to help. I've tried following up with ABCO, and now, they won't even take my calls. They literally hang up on me, and have totally left me hanging. That's entirely immature and unprofessional. This was a horrible experience.

They were terrible and lousy, Didn't do the job they promised and did a very poor job. They were overpriced, poor workmanship and they didn't do what I wanted them to do. They didn't follow through with what they wrote on the order. They had to come back and they didn't even do the job what I asked them too but they haven't come back the second time. I would not use them again in the future.

The first red flag was when we were waiting for the representative to come to our house at 10:00 a.m., never showed or called. So we called the main office to find out where he was and so the office personnel called the representative and said he should be there around 12:00 p.m. Biggest mistake, we ended up hiring them to do the job. They were late everyday to the job site (wasn't to disturbed by that). The biggest problem we had was the lack of communication between the workers and owner. In addition, the new hearth they put down was literally cracked in (2) two different places and they played it off as if it was meant to look that way. We called complained several times, even had the owner come to our house. He said he would take care of it, never called us back. We ended up calling them and telling them knock off $150 for the hearth and call it a day. This way we did not have to deal with this company and their lack of communication. On top of it all our hearth still looks like garbage and noticing in many spots on the restored brick are many gaps. I would not recommend them to anyone doing any type of restoration to their fireplace.

ABCO was one of three quotes for chimney masonry work and tuck pointing along the bottom of my house. They were the highest quote but the most thorough. I hired them because they also had air and furnace knowledge and recommended a new chimney liner to bring the house up to code. They worked a solid three days after estimating at least two and arrived promptly each day. We were very satisfied with the quality of their work.

We needed repairs to our chimney and we needed our cement/brick porch replaced. Abco said they could do both, but they were very wrong about their ability to build a porch. The brickwork looks okay, but the cement surface on the porch looks terrible; the surface has strange, uneven-looking swirls on it. The steps to the porch look uneven, a problem that required them to return twice: once at the request of our city building department and once at our request. When they had to come back to level the steps, they were apparently angry and smeared mortar on the brickwork. When we asked them to fix the smeared mortar, they did so but allowed chemicals to run down the steps and stain them. When they were working on the porch they mixed cement/mortar on our lawn and didn't do a very good job cleaning it up...we had quite a few dead spots on our lawn by the time they were done and it took a while for us to clean up their residue and re-grow grass. On the upside, their brickwork looks great. Their price was fair and they were timely. And they did a great job dealing with our city building department which isn't always easy.

Work was done within one week of estimate. Workmen were very professional. Helped us with some preparation work, we were suppose to do. Overall good job. Estimate was very detailed, so I knew exactly what had to be done. Got a 10 year guarantee.
