He is very easy to talk to. All of his workers are very polite and they clean up their mess. They are very professional. They were able to complete the job in 7 hours. They do excellent work and make sure you feel comfortable. When they give you a time they will show up at that exact time.

I selected HDF on the recommendation of a friend and Angie's list reviews, and it was the best choice I could have made. Dale instilled confidence immediately. He examined the infrastructure and foundation to make sure it was sound and provided a quote I thought was reasonable. Both Dale and his worker conducted their work professionally and unobtrusively, and kept things clean as they went along. I was kept informed and consulted before they made any alternations to the original plan they thought was necessary. Few cost overruns...I paid extra to have the stairway walls painted and an extra outlet installed. The result was a total transformation that improved the whole house. I couldn't be happier with the work and the service, and would, without reservation, recommend HDF to anyone. I would  them an A++.

HDF powerwashed the entire structure even under the top two decks.  They removed all rotten and suspect floor boards, railing and posts.  My lower deck was the worst because its the closest to the ground.  The original deck builder did not put flashing on the wall where the decking is attached to the house. HDF put flashing where it was supposed to be. Also, that dug drainage channels for the water to flow away from my lower deck. It had been retaining water around the footers for 15 years.  HDF's attention to detail is second to none.  They primed and sealed all new wood then applied 10 gallons of Behr premium stain.
 
My deck looks brand new and from a short distance looks like a Trex deck.  HDF did an outstanding job.  I would not hesitate to call on them in the future.

Our home had a simple upper level walk-out deck that essentially had room for a grill and small two person table. We were looking to expand the size of the upper level and also put a lower level in and attach the two with a winding staircase. Since I am no fan of maintaining a deck, we decided to go with Trex. Via a friend's referral, I called HDF and spoke with owner Dale. After going over what I was looking for he came by to review everything and asked to give him a day or two to jot some ideas down of other options I could consider for such a big project. When we spoke again, since our back yard faced woods and was going to be used for entertaining he suggested topping the rails with solar powered light posts. Since the upper level covered a portion of the lower deck he suggested he put in a ceiling type contraption that would trap the water and drain it out the side. The work crew was at the house every single day, including the weekend until the job was done. Seeing it go from nothing (once the old deck was removed) to what you see in the picture was pretty amazing. From our neighbors to friends and relatives do nothing but rave about the deck. It is an amazing place to entertain or just kick back with the wife and relax.
