Service Scheduler messed up the appointment time and date. The owner Christine Kastanos was very rude about it and refused to warranty their workmanship which failed on the same day.

Paid this company to repair faucet but no repair was actually completed. They refused to repair after taking my money. Did not return several calls seeking clarification. This company is a total scam.

Our hot water tank needed some "help."  On Friday, we contacted our home warranty plan.  They referred American Plumbing Services.  We received a call from the company, Chris the owner, the same day to schedule an appointment.  Chris stated the plumber would be out Monday and that on Sunday we would get a call with the time frame to expect the plumber.  No call on Sunday (clue #1).  Monday came and by the afternoon we still had not received a phone call or did the plumber arrive.  We called, Chris who stated she did not even know they were suppose to come out on Monday (clue #2).  An appointment was scheduled for Tuesday. The plumber arrived. My husband and the plumber went to look at the tank.  The plumber stated the tank needed to be replaced and we should be all set. No possible extra charges, etc. where discussed.  He would order the tank through the home warranty company and call and schedule the work to be done.  On the Thursday we had a voicemail from the plumber stating that it would cost us an extra $189 for them to replace the tank.  He stated the water and gas line would need to be changed since our current set up would not fit the new tank, we needed a dialectric union, we needed a drip leg and there was a disposal fee which equaled the $189 (clue #3).  Whe had already paid them the $75 service fee.  We called Chris who stated she did not have the paperwork handy, but usually these sort of costs happen to make sure it is up to code.  We immediately contacted another certifed plumber (the owner) who came to our house that same night.  He assessed our tank and gave us a price with the breakdown of costs:  the water tank and labor.  We inquired if we needed a new water and gas line - answer:  NO, but if you do when I set it up that is included in my price; do we need a dialectric union: NO you have one; do we need a drip leg: NO you have one; do you charge a disposal fee: NO; will our tank be up to local and state code: YES (clue #4).
Long and short, the drama got even better between the home warranty company and the plumbing company.
We decided NOT to use American Plumbing Services due to their rudeness, extra and unnecessary charges, and not trusting they would perform the work properly.
We took a cash option from the home warranty company and hired the company that gave us the second opnion.  The water tank is a much better quality than the one removed.  The workmanship was outstanding.  The customer service was top notch.  The price quoted remained the same as what was paid.

One more time the Ameircan Plumbing Services owner, Chris, had to exhibit her customer service by hanging up on my husband when he called to let them know (out of courtesy) we would not be using their service and they could return the tank they had ordered.

This morning I discovered that water is pouring into my basement. Upon calling the plumbing company, the woman who handles the appointments was unbelievably rude stating she needed authorization from the home warranty company. I called, received this, called her back and she still stated she needed to follow her process and receive her own authorization. I tried asking how long that would take and she became incredibly angry and rude saying she would handle it. Meanwhile, I still have water pouring in my basement. She ended up hanging up on me.
I have never in my life been treated in such a rude manner. This is by far the most unprofessional company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Worst customer service ever.

While the plumber was nice, whomever answered the phone may be the rudest, grumpiest woman I have ever encountered. They scheduled me 5 days out (after my original plumbing issue) and then called on the day of service (during the last 15 minute of the appointment window) to say they would not be coming due to truck breakdown. They rescheduled for the next morning. When they arrived (in a very old, beat up pick-up (no company logo)) they got to work after 15 minutes of standing around. They were scruffy-looking and ungroomed. They did not wear company logo shirts or anything - I had to ask for their card for proof of identity. Had I been home alone at the time, I would have been highly reluctant to let them in despite a flooded basement. They listened to my description of the problem - looked in one pipe and declared it a septic problem and then left. They did not charge me anything, but they did no work. After having the septic company out to inspect things we sound that lo and behold it was a plumbing problem. The Home Warranty company called another plumber to fix the issue which was in the area where I was having the problem but  that American Plumbing Services never inspected.

They were efficient, prompt, polite, and tried to make the "fix" as minimally invasive to our floor as possible.  Very satisfied with their work. They generally do Insurance work for DBC Co. so I'm not sure if they do plumbing work outside of Insurrance claims.

They came as requested but it tooks 2 days to get the PO for the replacement heater from AHS and then 2 days before they could install. Long time with out hot water in the early spring. They installed the water heater quickly and efficiently. The gentleman show me how to get the pilot to light , tempature controls. I probably would not have selected them if they not under contract to AHS.
