I found a glowing recommendation for Mark's work on the Southeast Michigan Woodworker's site (http://www.semiww.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9424), so I contacted Mark by email and he responded the same day. He met me for a quote 3 days later and started the job the same week. He has been responsive and prompt, flexible, very friendly, and respectful. This is the first time that I've hired someone to do drywall work, and I'm very happy with the job. Mark finished the job in three days (with one other man, Dan). I needed them to start work in the evening (after 5PM) the first day, and they were accommodating to my schedule. They hung the drywall, taped, and mudded the tape the first night (5 hours). They came back the next day to do the bed coat and the finish coat (5 hours). They just finished up today, in less than three hours, sanding, doing touch-ups, and then thoroughly cleaning the space. The greatest part is that Mark is a super friendly guy. When I expressed interest in learning to drywall, he was totally willing and enthusiastic to give me tips, let me follow him around and ask questions. I'm not as familiar with how much drywall costs, but the job Mark completed for me was in downtown Detroit, and he lives about an hour and ten minutes away, so there was a good deal of travel time included in the job, too.
