I called Duffy's because we could not identify the source of non-functioning outlets. He replaced one obviously non-function breaker (it wouldn't flip), but this did not fix the problem. He went on to diagnose where the problem originated and repaired it.
Description of Work: Diagnosed an electrical problem in an old house. We had 5 non-functioning outlets and no breaker was flipped. This is only the last time I used Duffy electric. Over the past 10 or so years, I have used him multiple times.

We didn't use Duffy Electric because he didn't want to climb in the attic to do the wiring. We live in a manufactured home and there isn't much room up there.

He was quite good. He made a couple of trips because he would come and then it would reach a point where he would have to stop because somebody else had to do something. He had to come back a few times and had to wait until the dry walling in the kitchen was complete. He had to put new wiring and reconnect all the plugs that were disconnected because of all the renovation and remodeling work that was going on in the house. There was a bar downstairs and when I had it remodeled, I moved the bar, which had been connected to the wall out into the room. So it now it became an island and he had to rerun electricity to that bar that had formerly connected the bar to the wall. Now it was an island so obviously, the electric wires could not string to the wall out to the island and it couldn't be on the floor so he had to rewire everything up through the ceiling. He did that for me. He rewired all the new outlets. He put in new electric service in a room in the basement. There is a small, unfinished workroom in the basement with no electric plugs and so he put in electric plugs for me. He wired in a light fixture over my workbench. There was a light fixture in the middle of the room and I wanted one over the workbench so he wired that in and put a switch in for that for me. In the basement, in the room where the furnace is kept, there is a furnace, a water treatment system and there are two water heaters that have some kind of power fan gadgets on top of them, which I have never seen before. They had to be hooked up to electricity. There were not, in my judgment, enough electrical plugs in that room so I had him put in some plugs and add more power for me. He didn't charge me for a couple of other tiny things that he did for me. He did good quality work, which is what I expected. His work was fine but above that, he was very willing to work with the schedule that I had with the other contractors. He was very willing to work around that and was very responsive once the ball was in his court. He kept the project moving along for me. I appreciated that.
Description of Work: I used Duffy Electric in May. He put in a system of recessed lighting fixtures in my new kitchen ceiling. He reconnected the electricity that was disconnected for the renovation that took place in my home. He had to put new wiring to everything.

The electrical work was satisfactory. The problem was that they did not clean up the site. Specifically, a large piece of cast iron which was on top of the mast from the the house to the utility pole was thrown on the ground, just off the grass line in a ground cover area. While I was doing Fall cleanup work, there was some tall grass growing in the ground cover area and I attempted to mow it down. I ran into the cast iron piece and totaled the lawn mower. When I contacted the electrician to complain, I initially got no return call. When I did reach Duffy Electric I was told that the Board of Water and Light were also involved in the job and that they may have made the mistake. He then promised to call BWL and call me back. Result: both deny responsibility and Duffy Electric, the primary contractor, refused to acknowledge responsibility or do anything about it. I had to replace my mower for $ 370.
Description of Work: Upgrade to 100 amp breaker system, changed three plugs.
