Totally unprepared not professional, had lack of equipment. Said he needed snake to check out the pipes and had to move the toilet, and wanted to use garbage bags of my own and to place it in a bedroom till service was done. Totally unprofessional and unprepared, and had a lack of regard for my property.

Sewer cleaning is not a glamorous task and there's no way around that but Pat's makes it as painless as possible. I recommend getting this done regularly to prevent issues - it's a much bigger chore to clean up a flooded basement.

Early on a Monday we had a tree root backup and called Pat's at 8 am. They arrived within an hour and checked all possible problems. Roots were cleaned out and I was at work by 10 am. I was very pleased and will call them again should we have future problems. Our former plumber passed away and I've been looking for a dependable replacement. Happy to say we have one!

We moved into a home in the summer of 2009. There were some tree roots growing into our sewer line but they were thin, and the former owners had been getting the line cleaned every year. I called Pat's Sewer Cleaning in the fall of 2009 because of their "A" rating on Angie's List. They were punctual for their first appointment in November. Two people came and they were both polite and professional on that visit. They inspected the sewer line and confirmed that there were thin roots in the line. However, they recommended using an expandable cutter because the access was 4" and the line was 6". Their expandable cutter head needed servicing and so they would have to come back on a second visit. I paid $250 for the camera examination with the understanding that this would be deducted from the final cleaning and post-cleaning camera inspection. The second visit (booked for a few weeks later) was cancelled by Pat's because their camera needed servicing. They told me that they would call me when the camera was fixed. I never heard from them, and had to call them back myself in February. They failed to show up for their 9AM appointment; when I called their office I was told that their people had called in sick and that I had been left a voicemail message--which was clearly not true. I gave them one more chance because I had already spent $250 on the initial visit. We booked an appointment for the following week at 9AM. Well, here we are at 10 AM and again they have failed to show up. I called their office and the person there said that their crew was at a job but that he had no idea when they would come to my house. He said that the earliest that he could find out their status was in 30 minutes. Why 30 minutes? Why couldn't he call right now? He was unable to give a coherent explanation. I am not using Pat's Sewer Cleaning again, and I would not recommend them to anyone else. Two no-show appointments back-to-back without the courtesy of a phone call is completely unacceptable and unprofessional.

Our first contact was by phone during which Scott listened to our situation and the competitor's recommendation. He gave his opinion and backed it up in detail and offered to match price should we need our line inspected by camera. He came out himself (it's his company) with his father and proceeded to methodically evaluate the problem. He proposed a cheaper solution to our problem that would not necessitate breaking up our basement floor as the competitor recommended, but would instead go backward toward the drain from the sump pump, an alternative they had not proposed. After observing the results of pouring water down the drain, he decided the blockage was close to the drain and proposed to drill a larger hole in the grating and try to clean it out from there for $200 (quite a bit less than original estimate). He told me that if this didn't work, he would not charge me for trying and would go back to his original plan. They worked for quite a while (they do not charge by time), and eventually cleared the line of sediment. He then inspected our system and advised us about installing a clean out, the location and cost. He did not pressure me to install this right away. He explained everything in detail, was very professional and explained his business philosophy which is honest, well-priced service and not hard sell of the most expensive alternative. He encouraged me to call if there were any problems with his repair.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE! Pat actually contacted me. I was at wits end after getting several competitors quoting me in excess of $5000.00 to dig trenches in my yard just to "see" what repair is needed. On estimator to replace my sewer line was hesitant and offered to contact Pat for me. Pat called immediately and spent 40+ minutes explaining to me and answering all my questions. With all the estimating, he did not bad mouth or dispute the competition, but, rather explained why he could provide me the needed fix, quicker, with less money and less after effects, i.e., no trenching. After all the previous estimates stated I had a broken line that needed digging/trenching, he went so far as to offer canceling his initial fee if his initial diagnosis indicated I needed sewer line replacement and trenching.

The plumber replaced the trap and snaked the drain. When he left the entire carpeted floor was soaked. I called and spoke to ''Pat'' and he sent the plumber back. The plumber claimed that there was water on the floor and the ceiling tiles were soaked and it must have been like that before they came. I told him it definitely was not and he became angry and rude. We asked him to leave. We were able to repair the problem ourselves since they had not recaulked the overflow drain in the bathtub after they snaked the drain and the water was pouring from the overflow drain to the basement. I now have a ruined ceiling and have to have the carpet cleaned. I would definitely never call the company again.
