John contracts out his painting and never actually did any work here. He gave fantastic advice about using Sherwin Williams for a paint consultation, and we're grateful. His crew was also here pretty much when promised. There was decent communication for timing and delays. We had issues with the painters following instructions. They used too much putty to cover the nail holes when staining our new windows. Also, we instructed them to be careful painting over the brand new wood floors, they still left quite a bit of paint mess. When we brought it up to John, he became defensive. We did not feel heard by him when we tried to explain the issues we encountered. The price overall was good.

I decided to use this provider after comparing with other quotations and meeting with the owner John Hopper. From the start, John was very professional in his dealings, very clear about what the job entailed and very accommodating of my personal schedule for the job and payments. John's email communications are very concise, accurate and detailed. John has been very responsive to my queries and concerns. The staff he sent out for the job were very polite, considerate and punctual. After the first phase of the job was done, John obligingly sent out a staff member to address some unsatisfactory spots. My only reservation with the job is the slight inattention to detail. There were some areas to be smoothed over that are still not done to my satisfaction - my rating for quality is actually more like an A-minus rather than a B. However, John has promised to address those when his people come back for Phase 2 - so I fully expect to be able to change my rating for quality also to an A.

I explained what I wanted done, which was the kitchen, dining room, and small bathroom. I said I also wanted the ceilings done. The coupon didn’t include the ceilings, but based on the square footage, I thought it could be included. He said it would be an additional $80, because of the time it would take. I explained that one wall was going to be wallpapered and another was a glass door, but he still said it would be extra. When they didn’t show, I called and talked to the owner. He said the crew was still working on a job, but after making call said that he could get one guy in an hour, and asked if I thought it could be done in one day, I said yes. The guy was done by himself in 4 hours, including the ceilings. John , the owner, told me that what I wanted would take 2 people all day, plus $80 because fo the extra work. I called him and said that I didn’t get the full value of the coupon. He said they couldn't have known that there would be time left. He never said, “What can I do?” or tried to make it right. At the end, he said he would not refund anything or offer to do more work. I don’t feel like I got what I paid for.
