The girl was knowledgeable. She did a very good job. She straighten everything up when she finished. I asked her to do some things that I wasn't sure if she would do. They came when they said they'd come. They did a good job and got in and out pretty quickly. I thought that the 3 hours was a little high but I had never done it before and I didn't know what to expect. Now I know, I can have a little less to be done.

On the first day they arrived late and started with the upper floor. Although they did a good job of organizing clothes in closets they failed to clean the dust off the ceiling fans. After they left I discovered that they had not even attempted to clean one commode but only closed the lid. Another commode smelled of urine. Also the wood floor in the hall was very slippery where they had brought in their mops. My daughter slipped and fell as a result. The next morning they were late again, in fact, only the boss showed up. I pointed out the dirty commodes and asked what had been put on the floor to make it so slippery. She seemed surprised at the commode while stating that she forgot to check it. She claimed that nothing was put on the floor to make it slippery. She also seemed surprised that her crew had not yet arrived and she said that she was going out to her car to phone them. She then drove off and I never saw any of them again. I called to asked what happened but they did not return the phone call. They finally responded to calls several days later and they agreed to come back to finish the job, but by then they were not wanted. They kept the deposit.
Description of Work: They were supposed to clean the upper and main floors of my house with what they described as a "Top to Bottom" cleaning. The price was high but we needed the work done before the holidays so we decided to give them a try. Once contracted, they were unable to start on the initially agreed upon date. They rescheduled for the following week.

Response from Bright & Shine Cleaning Service
In response to this report date, I would have replied immediately but our hard drive to computer went out due to power outage. Almost all comments stated by this gentleman is untrue. Right from the beginning, this job description was titled on the contract "Disaster clean up" Top to bottom is an under statement. Some rooms were in hoarding condition. When estimate was first established, he eliminated the basement due to unlivable conditions. I would estimate 2-3 years left that way. He said he had to go through some things. Before we could even touch it. After estimate was established he still put the work off for another month and a half. I told him that I would call 1 week before appointment date to confirm appointment. I called exactly one week before date and left a voice mail for him to confirm appointment. He never did. I waited; two days went by. I called back and his wife answered and said he was sleeping. Three days went by. So he left me no choice but to believe he changed his mind. So I went ahead and filled his appointment week with other customers that were waiting. On the fourth day, he calls and confirms. We were unable to start the initial agreed upon date due to his procrastination. On the first day we arrived 20 minutes late. He was called 1 hour before appointment and I left a voice mail stating we were running behind. The organizing of the clothes was was more than just organizing- we had to pick them up off the floor in piled up bedrooms and ask him first if he wanted the clothes in garbage bags? He said NO I want you to figure out whats dirty and whats clean. In regards to ceiling fans, 1 ceiling fan blade was missed. In 1 bathroom it was turned upside down to be cleaned with tooth brush cleaning. The inside of commode (toilet bowl) had pink ring around it from cleaners and was overlooked from employee forgetting to rinse out. The other bathroom was also turned upside down with tooth brush cleaning and did not smell like urine. I did not want to offend him by telling him that the urine was coming from the urinated clothes that he had us pick up from the floor and put in laundry basket sitting by the entrance of bathroom door. So I said nothing. It took a crew of four people five hours just to do upstairs, that consisted of 2 full baths and 3 bedrooms. That's 20 hours worth of work for 1 person. The 2nd day I was not late- I happened to come 30 minute before my crew was going to arrive. I'm glad I did-as soon as I walked in the door he asked me what I put on his wood floor in the hallway. I told him the same thing he was told the day before (for the 3rd time) I'm not going to even touch your wood floors with a mop or even a broom until the main floor is complete. All the 3 rooms on the main floor is completely cleaned and organized. Due to the fact that we at that point didn't know how many days we were going to have to keep coming back, I didn't want the rooms tracked back in since the whole main floor was wood. Also due to the fact that he was dragging the job out on us through too many rules and asking for extras that wasn't in the agreement. Such as look for numerous library books that hadn't been returned, change his living room furniture around, and not allowing us to stay any late than 3:00p.m. because he had to pick up kids at school. He wasn't allowing us the time we needed to work through the job in a professional manner. There was never a mop brought in the home or 1 spill of anything on the wood floor. If his Daughter slipped and fell, then i would only have to believe that it was due to the condition of his home. He also did not bring this to my attention. At this point, I had to make a decision that this wasn't going to be a job but a liability and that no money was worth it. So I walked off the job. 1 weeks later this man did not call me, his wife did. She asked me what happend? From my understand he did not explain nothing to her. She commented and said to me what happened- my husband spoke highly of your company. I told her of all the trouble as explained in this report. After talking to her, I felt bad for her and it was Christmas time so I agreed to come back to finish the job as long as we were able to finish the job with time allowed and trusting that there wouldn't be anymore misunderstandings. She said okay but need to call back and see if someone could be at the house for the 15 minutes that her husband had to pick up kids from school. She called back and said they couldn't work it out. I said I understood and at that point the agreement had been finalized. We did not go back. By this man stating that we kept the $300.00 deposit, what did he think we should of got paid for 20 hours of work with a crew of 4 upstairs and 3 hours of work to do 2 rooms downstairs with 4 people. With 1 person doing all of the work it would of been 12 hours a total of 32 hours altogether for work already preformed .The job cost was originally $2100.00 He eliminated it down to $1175.00. We received a $300.00 deposit. The balance to complete the job was $875.00 The upstairs was $550.00 the main floor was $625.00. The upstairs was competed- $250.00 is still owed for upstairs. Main floor 2 rooms was completed- $173.00 is owed. I have been in business for 25 years and never have experienced these kind of false statements against my company or personal life. We are very reputable, honest and dependable. We do a good job, not a fast job. We don't cut corners, we clean them. We have qualified references commercial and residential. Feel free to contact our commercial customers: 1. Bridge Port State Police Post now Bay City Post- ask for officer Christine Winterstein 989-777-3700 2. Orkin Pest Control-ask for Dale 810-471-3611 3. Clio Country Club- ask for Pat 810-686-0211 Residential is also available upon request- no problem. I would have to finalize this by saying Contractors Beware.

They were on time and completed the work in one day. They did a great job on what was difficult to clean. They were quiet and stuck to the job at hand. The walls and lights were covered in a sticky sanding dust. When they were finished everything looked fabulous.I would absolutely use their service again. Very impressive.
Description of Work: Walls, door, light fixtures and cupboards washed.

Melony and Travis were very good. They arrived on time, immediately went to work, and quietly performed the job. They were very conscientious and efficient. There were challenges in getting some of the screens off the windows and in reaching some of outsides of the windows. However, they managed to clean everything and do it well.
Description of Work: Melony and her assistant, Travis, washed all of our windows, screens, and entry light.
