Jake Of All Trades

Description of Work: I hired Jacob Kurtz to perform the weekly cleaning for our vacation property. New guests arrive every Saturday as the previous ones leave. Jacob had a 4 hour block of time within which to clean the property and have it ready. Because I live 50 miles from the property, part of Jacob's duties were to examine the house for damages from the previous guest. That way I was aware of issues and could speak to them about it. Upon hiring him he agreed to call, email or text me each week shortly after his visit to let me know. He was very inconsistent with this and rarely contacted me. When he did he often pointed out irrelavent issues, like guests leaving a lot of clothing labels/price tags from new clothes on carpet in bedroom. Or some mention of generally messyness, rather than the needed details about damage. He was very frequently late to the property (late in the summer I found out he was not aware of the check-out and check-in times even though I texted/emailed frequently to verify his arrival. On several occasions he did not show up at all. Once he was in New York and had contracted with someone to fill in for him without my okay. That person had an emergency and couldn't come either, leaving me in the learch. On another occasion he was supposed to provide from the owners locked closet sheets and towels for a guest. He forgot. When I called to find out what happened and to see if he could go back and get them out for the guests he said he was in Boston and had the key! I had to drive 100 miles to get the sheets and towels out for my guest. I never knew week to week if Jake would show up or not. The only time I was able to get to the property after he had cleaned I was not impressed with his work. I found shoe boxes, cereal, etc. under the beds. The downstairs bath was not cleaned well if at all. He left food in the refridgerator adn did not wipe it out. Our final guest of the season arrived while Jake was still there cleaning because he had arrived late. He introduced himself and worked while they were downstairs with him. When they came downstairs after taking luggage, etc. up to the bedrooms, they found that Jake had left without a word, leaving the downstairs unvacuumed and dirty. My guest had to clean the property and I had to reimburse her for that.
