Our dog Chance is a hunting, curious breed and we live near woods and high traffic road. We wanted to be sure he was safe even though we have a backyard fence. Seeing many in my area with “Friendly Pet Boundaries” I thought I’d give them a call. Don was highly responsive, helpful in walking through the process, gaining our needs, and assisting throughout our training! Don and Scott are personable and professional, and it is a joy working with them. The best part is I can trust my high energy hunter outside by himself where we have lots of critters, pedestrians and traffic— and he doesn’t breach, not even for a deer or a neighbor’s dog!

Don and his son, Scott, showed up on time spent quite a bit time reviewing the yard and explaining where and why the fence would be located. I wanted a two zone fence, backyard and front yard, he created the two zone at no extra charge. There were very conscientious about where they sliced the lawn. After the fence was installed they spent quite a bit of time working with our 5 month old puppy and also working with us so we knew how to train her as to where her limits were. They then scheduled an appointment to come and see how our puppy was doing and made some adjustments to the collar. We were concerned about how we were training her and her reaction to the fence. They have come out two additional time to work with us and show us a couple of new techniques to help our puppy get closer to her boundaries. Don also trains dogs and brings them with him on the appointments. They are very well trained and you can see that he loves the dogs and what he does for a living. I recommend Don Offutt with the highest degree of confidence and will look to him for any training issues that arise with, our now, 8 month old lab.

Don is great!!! One of our two dogs Coco is hard to train. Don installed the fence, and he is patient. Finally, the dog respects the boundary. Thank you!

I have 2 dogs a 7 year old golden retriever and pit bull mix puppy. When my golden was a puppy I installed a pet fence myself so, i figured i would take the project on again. I purchased collars, boundary fence unit and wire but, found that i just did not have the time to complete the project myself. I called Friendly Pet Boundaries on Friday afternoon and had a Sunday appointment. Don was able to use all the parts I purchased and performed the installation on Monday! Don noted i have 2 cats and complained about the dog eating the cat food and installed a small location specific unit is the dogs will not eat the cat food anymore! Don and his son installed the fence in about an hour (a little over an acre) and showed me how to train the dogs. Don will be back out in a week to follow up and check on training. Everyone from Friendly Pet Boundaries from the initial phone call to installation were very professional. The fence is working great and I couldn't be happier!

I, honestly, could not have owned my dog if it wasn't for Don. He made it possible to have our dog because of his ability to train and control the dog. We got our dog from a rescue and instantly fell in love!!! But, 120lbs is a lot of dog to love. Don made sure that he was always well behaved in front of people and made us look good!!! He always checked in on us after training sessions to see how it was going. He also put in our electric fence and trained our dog on it. It put us at ease with having such an old fence in a neighborhood with young kids. I couldn't imagine not having one now!! Don has done several follow up appointments with us every time that we have needed something. He, being the owner, made so much time for us and got to know me and my family personally. This is an amazing connection that he has with us and our dog. It has made the whole process of dog training and learning how to control our dog so much better. We just got a new dog and we knew exactly who to call. He always makes time for us during our busy schedule. He calls ahead of time to confirm appointments and allows you several hours notice if he is going to be running late or a little early based on his day and always checks with you. It has put our mind at ease to have an amazing trainer like Don Offutt. From dog sitting and training while we are away, to putting in our electric fence, to the basic and complex dog training, Don has done it all for us and he really is a dog's best friend.

Terrific, every time. Don shows up at the expected time and the cost has always been exactly what was estimated. Don trained the dogs to the original fence and trained them to the new fence after we moved. When I mentioned to him that it was driving me crazy that one of the dogs was always in the kitchen when he was a puppy, Don told me about and installed a "fence" inside the house to keep him out of the kitchen.

We looked at two company's and chose him. He was very prompt ,knows the product and just a complete pleasure to do business with. He did things above what he was required to do. It was nice to see some people still believe in doing a quality job for the

customer.    

Don did a great job for a very fair price. I would recommend him highly. I called Invisible Fence who originally installed our fence, repeatedly and they never called me back.Don was very responsive. I won't use anyone else again.

The install was completed professionally and on time.

He demonstrated proper way to walk her. She is still lively but much more responsive and is easier to handle.  He installed an invisible fence which is great. I can let her go out without being afraid that she'll escape.  It is a boon in this wintry weather.He is obviously fond of animals.

The fence in the back yard worked right away for keeping the dog inside. The front yard required a bit more training. After about 6 months or so, the collar was malfunctioning. We sent it back and Don got it repaired and mailed quickly back to us. Have not had any trouble since.

Prior to calling Don at Friendly Pet Boundaries, I had already purchased an in-ground fence system and I had buried the wire around the perimeter of the yard.  The plan was to train our dog Pepe myself.  But then I got to thinking that probably a pro could do the job better, and with our dog being the cherished member of the family that he is, I decided to have Don our to finish the install and train Pepe.
Everything went well, they hooked up the fence, tested it, set up the flags in the proper location and performed the first training session with the dog and walked me through how to continue the training until the next visit in about a week.
Now, they sell all the supplies that you need, but I bought the fence from another vendor since I was originally going to do this as a DIY project.  I think it was very good that they were willing to work on a product that they did not sell.  If I had it to do over, I would have just bought the fence from them as they know exactly what you need and their prices are in line with the retail stores.  And the whole process would have been much easier and more streamlined.
What I was surprised about, was that after the session, Don left me with 2 replacement button batteries for the collar.  I would have expected this if I had bought the collar from him, but I didn't so it was a nice gesture to get the batteries.  Also, he installed a pet ID tag on the collar so that if Pepe ever gets out, people can call Don and he can give them my name and address and phone number.  This was another unexpected free bonus.
After the pet fence was installed, I noticed the garage door was not opening/closing with the button.  The wire that leads to the laser sensor had been cut.  I called Don to let him know what had happened.  I told him that I could see that the wire had obviously been hanging down and got cut as the door opened and closed.  I told him that it probably wasn't their fault as they didn't touch that wire.  It was probably hanging a little low so as to be resting on the track that the opener chain goes through and it was just co-incidence that it happened while they were opening/closing the door during the fence install/hookup.
Don came right out and fixed it.  I thought that was very nice of him, and I told him that I thought it was most likely not their fault and I would be OK if he charged me.  He didn't charge me to spice the wire back together.
So a week later Don came back for phase 2 of the training.  And then he came back one more time to adjust the field width at my request.
Obviously I'm very happy with their service, I would not have spent so much time typing out this long review had I not been really happy.  Also, I was indeed right in thinking that Don could do a better job than me.  He is very good with my dog and geave me a lot of specific examples of how Pepe was responding to the training.  What to look for and what to avoid.  I would not have gotten that from a book or video.

Don is a good guy and very accessible and responsive.  Highly satisfied with his service.

My one dog, who is 7, did great when our fence was first installed.  Our puppy, 1 year old, was another story.  She constantly ran thru the barriers and acted like the zap she was getting didn't affect her.  After a few days of this, I emailed Don at night about how discouraged I was and that maybe I was doing something wrong.  He emailed me right back saying he would send someone out the next day to do more training.  They showed up the next day and tested our puppy and finally while they were here she walked right through the fence.  Don's guy upped the zaps and took away the warning buzz.  After pushing the boundaries again our puppy tried to go thru the fence but stayed this time.  The guy worked with me for about 45 mins with our puppy and finally she actually got it.  Because we have so many birds and squirrels I still have to keep an eye on our puppy but for the most part she is staying in the fenced area.  I am finally happy to report that our puppy is doing so much better but I still am nervous that she will run. I'm sure that will subside since we've only have the fence up for about 3 weeks.  I highly recommend Don and his company for services!  Thanks Don for helping me make my hairy babies stay safe!

First called for an estimate, then Don went out to our property to make sure everything was able to be done. Someone who worked for Don came out and installed the fence and, in the same day, began to train our dog to use it. He was excellent and very good with our dog (a lab/golden retriever mix). That next week Don came out to check in, raise the power of the fence, and train/ show us how to train our dog. After that second visit our dog had the fence down! Very caring people, very nice. I would HIGHLY recommend them and already have to a friend (who is going to use them also!)!

Don came out on a Wednesday and walked the property and gave me the estimate and details.  Peter was here that Friday to do the installation.  He explained everything he was going to do and was even able to put part of the boundary in some of our woods so our dog could still use the woods that she likes so much.  Peter used his dogs to help train our dog and explained everything I need to know to properly train our dog..  On the follow up visit, he again used his dogs and we had plenty of distractions to make sure that our dog knew the boundary.  Everything went very well from start to finish and I am very happy.

I'm very happy with my choice of Friendly Pet Boundaries.  I would highly recommend them to anyone.  I never let my dogs run free when I am not home, but when I am home and working in the yard, I have the comfort in knowing that they can run around in the yard without having to be on a leash all the time.

My family and I were apprehensive about using a pet fence with our dog, because we obviously did not want to harm our pet.  But Don quickly put us at ease and the training helped minimze any stress on our dog.  In fact, she was only corrected a handful of times, none of which hurt her.  She now is able to use the entire yard and she respects the boundary with or without the collar on.  The training that comes with the installation was the key for successful use of the product.  I highly recommend this company!

Don was recommended by several neighbors, and we were familiar with him as a local dog trainer.  During the visit for an estimate, we could tell that this is far more than a way to make money for Don - dogs are his life.  His price was very competitive as well.  He arrived as scheduled on the day of the installation and performed some initial training afterwards.  He returned several times to adjust the output level of each collar per each dog's reactions.  The Pet Stop fence has performed very well, keeping two hyper active Boxers in their yard!  Don has stood behind the product 100% as well.   Our dogs are very h****** the collars, often chewing/biting on the others receiver while they play.  When one was damaged by this, Don replaced it with a newer model free of charge.  We can't imagine having a better experience with another company, regardless of price.
