When I called to schedule the appointment, I was notified that there is an additional $35.00 travel charge associated with the appointment. This is quite comical as their self-written business description states the following: Business Description: 5 employees. No subs. Cost is determined by the job. No travel charges. No service fees. May contact through email. Ask about Angie's List discount. Award winning. Additional phone - (301) 839-0264. Additional fax - (301) 839-6344 Thankfully, I was able to have a refund processed from Angies List.
Description of Work: No services were preformed.

 + -1 moreRC Duct Cleaning services were wonderful-- I would defintely hire these folks again for future dryer vent cleanings, and possibly for whole house duct cleaning as well. The appointment process was efficient and timely-- the woman who answered the phone was courteous and friendly and worked with me to find an available time slot on a Saturday to accomodate my work schedule and that of my tenant. Very helpful. The technicians arrived on time within the allotted 2-hr window, were very friendly and polite and did a terrific job on both dryer vents. They came ready with all the necessary paper work, including the receipt for the 1 job I'd already paid for using the Angie's List coupon and collected payment for the remaining balance. They were done and out the door before we knew it - very simple, fast process all around.
Description of Work: Cleaning of 2 dryer vents - one at residence, second at rental unit. Used Angies List coupon for for $89 for first dryer.

 + -1 moreIt was a little hard to get a hold of someone at first but when I did, things were fine. The only other issue is that they rescheduled on me twice - good reasons but still a bit inconvenient. The final product was worth it. They did a great job.

 + -1 moreIt went great - the guy came right on time - in the early part of the appointment window, and waited a few minutes for me to get there (it is a rental condo). He found the exit vent for the dryer and went to work - did I mention that it was 101 degrees out that day? Brutal day and he did everything outside with a smile while having a conversation with me. Great guy who did great work - and he had the detailed invoice I needed for my condo association.

 + -1 moreThey did an excellent job again. They had the equipment, drilled out a vent space through the outside decking, and re-counted the dryer vent in from under the house crawlspace. As in the last job, they performed as specified, for the price quoted, and were finished in under 2 hours. They are very professional and I would use them again.
Description of Work: After doing such a fine job on my the previous week, I contracted with R/C Duct Cleaning to correctly vent my clothes dryer. When my kitchen was remodeled it had been incorrectly vented into the crawlspace.

 + -1 moreExcellent. Two men came and worked quickly to clean all my ductwork. They had high-powered vacuums and containment systems that cleaned the ducts without any messiness. I also asked them not to use the deodorizer since I have allergies. They did an excellent job.
Description of Work: Purchased through Big Deal. Whole house duct cleaning. They were on time, efficient and clean. They did such a good job that I asked them to do another job, as well.

Description of Work: I am not sure he pulled out the dryer and cleaned the front end of the vent... I did not see that performed and didn't realize it until he had left. Don't recall the exact price. It was one of Angie's special offers last Fall ??

 + -1 moreI purchased a living social deal for full house air duct service for $125.00 (value $260). I called in early June for an appointment and was unable to schedule their service until June 29 - so you do need to call in advance! I was told that someone would be at my house between 11:00am - 1:30pm. My technician, Mark, arrived early at 10:45am. He was super friendly and let me know in advance what he would be doing and offered to check my dryer vent as well. He went to work and answered a few minor questions I had with regards to the flow of AC to my upstairs and an opening in the air duct downstairs. He was in an out in about an hour and I can't go on enough about his friendliness. Truly appreciated the service and would definitly make a future appointment and would likely request Mark for future visits.

 + -1 moreHe pulled the dryer away from the wall and showed us that the exhaust pipe had come loose. He went in, took it off completely, cleaned everywhere around it, and cleaned out the hose. He put the lint hose back on correctly. I asked him if we needed to spend more money to get a new hose, he said "no". He didn't take more money even when I offered to pay extra and he didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. He gave me some advice on what to do to clean it ourselves in the future.
Description of Work: We were afraid our hose was clogged up because we weren't seeing a lot coming out of the house and the walls were getting covered in lint in the laundry room.

Description of Work: The company indicates on Angies list that they service all DC Metro areas. However, when I purchased a deal coupon I was informed an additional charge of $35 dollars would be required, because of distance.

 + 0 moreThe technician thoroughly cleaned the dryer duct with a brush and shop-vac. Each vent opening grill was removed and cleaned off. Then the ducts were vacuumed for as far as the shop-vac hose could reach. The technician placed a shop-vac in the area where the return ducts came to the furnace to catch dust that was brushed off the inlets for the return ducts, followed by blowing air into the inlets as far as the hose could reach. There was only a small problem. The new filter that was installed after the cleaning needed to be replaced after a few days because there was still loose dust in the return ducts. Overall, the technician was friendly and cheerful. He had some tips for taking care of the ducts.
Description of Work: The technician thoroughly cleaned the dryer duct with a brush and shop-vac. The ventilation ducts were cleaned.

 + -1 moreWorst service ever received and receptionist was very unprofessional. Acted as if I owed her something instead of doing what was necessary to schedule and complete a job they cancelled. If their work is any indication of the service receptionist, I'd stay away from this company. I was able to find another company in Woodbridge, VA that not only was able to expedite my request for the next day but was also a pleasure to talk with. This company should take a lesson from them as far as what it means by customer service.
Description of Work: Made appointment for cleaning well in advance to make sure job got done on time as a requirement for HOA. Company called 1 day before service notifying they could not perform service on the scheduled day and time. Contacted company on 6 Jun, no answer, left message stating cleaning had to be done ASAP as part of HOA requirement. No return of message. Contacted again on 7 Jun. Company stated my repplacement appointment given to someone else though no appointment date or time was given to customer. Explained once again service was critical to be accomplished immediately due to possible fine. Company said could do on weekend; unacceptable. When customer became asked for the Friday appointment originally rescheduled, company refused and when customer asked to speak to manager/owner, receptionist hung up phone on customer.

 + -1 moreIt went very well! I had to reschedule and they came on time. He cleaned it all and did a great job. I was satisfied in every aspect except one. He used a vacuum to clean with that was a too big for him, and he ended up doing minor damage to two of my stairs. They were chipped. Please be aware of the equipment they use to make sure that they can handle it. The work went very well and was clean. The damage to the house was something though that I was not pleased with.

 + -1 moreSean was very quick, working from the exterior end of the dryer vent and using a cordless drill with long, "snake"-like attachment to draw lint from the duct. He cleaned virtually all of the lint from the ground where it had fallen. I was concerned that the length of the run would require an auxiliary fan, but Sean assured me that it would not -- didn't try to sell me something I didn't need

I expected a large truck with an industrial vacuum system to pull up, but that's what I get for relying on this Angie's List "deal" and not doing my own research.  + -1 moreThey do not respond to email. Their phone communications are lacking: no one answers, voice mail states a mailbox # instead of a company name, no one returned my call. I was told arrival would be at 11. The technician showed just before 1. So, there was a big miscommunication there.The work itself and the technician were very good and I am very satisfied with the actual work. The customer support and communication is not very good.
