 + -1 moreTechnician arrived on time. Very courteous, and explained the procedure. He hooked up his machine to the outdoor vent opening, and proceeded to remove of the dust in the line. The job was finished in less than an hour. Would not hesitate to use this vendor again.

 + -1 moreI purchased a dryer vent cleaning service from RC Duct Cleaning through an Angie's List promotion. This was the first time I have used a company that was part of a promotion rather than research a company on my own. But RC Duct Cleaning turned out to be a great company to do business with. Although I had to wait a while to get my service because of the demand, when my day came along, the technician arrived on time, did his job efficiently and with care, and swept up any dirt caused by the duct cleaning. The next time I have to my dryer vent cleaned, I will call RC Duct Cleaning.
Description of Work: RC Duct Cleaning cleaned out the duct that runs from my dryer to the outside vent, which is a distance of about 20 feet.

 + -1 moreI want to give the company the benefit of the doubt. Let me stated that my dryer vent was very, very dirty since I have never had it cleaned before. Overall, he did a good job based on the circumstances. To Angie's list: For future ads regarding dryer vents, probably two prices should be offered based on regular type cleaning and one for vents that are extremely dirty or have never been cleaned. Thanks.

Description of Work: What was thought to be a full service duct cleaning service turned out to be much less. Our coupon described "complete duct cleaning and service. However, the work performed for the price paid included the three technicians removing air vents throughout the house, vacuuming the immediate/visible area in the duct, and replacing the vent covers. The technicians then wandered down to the basement to the furnace and proceeded to extinguish the pilot light while vacuuming the interior of the unit. Without relighting the pilot light, the technician replaced the cover and informed me the job was complete... NOW comes the salesmanship..."For an additional cost of $350.00, we will flush and vacuum the entire HVAC system and finish the service by spraying/treating the ventilation system with a chemical (totally safe) to clean and sanitize the vents, thus eliminating mold, mildew, mites, bugs, anything harmful to your family." My response was that it was not in our budget. Interestingly, as they were getting ready to pack their pick-up truck and go on their way, their manager called to let them know there was a special that day and they could reduce the price by $150.00...still outside of our budget, and the counter offer knocked off an additional $50.00... The overall work performed was adequate and the technicians did clean up and debris, but I will think twice before asking this company to return.

These guys were professional and quick (don't know if that is good or not) They were on time and although I did not ask for it in the original negotiations, they also cleaned my dryer vent for an additional $20 I think, cant' remember, not sure. I would use them again though.

 + -1 moreA few days after purchasing a Big Deal for a whole system cleaning plus sanitizing I called up to schedule an appointment. I purchased the deal on August 6, 2012, and I was hoping to set an appointment before the end of the month. I knew it would not be realistic to get an appointment that week, but I was also equally optimistic they could come out by the end of August so long as we were flexible. When I called the representative said their next available appointment was not until the end of October. That sounded quite absurd so I immediately contacted Angie's List requesting a refund. I was very satisfied that Angie's List processed the refund within days. I was not satisfied, however, with RC Duct Cleaning because I would imagine they would have a hard time maintaining customers if appointments are hard to get. A potential customer should not have to wait months.
Description of Work: On August 6, 2012 we purchased a Big Deal for RC Duct Cleaning for a whole system cleaning plus sanitizing. A few days days later I called to set an appointment, but they did not have any open times until October. Since we would have had to wait over two months we requested a refund and did not utilize their services.

 + -1 moreThey responded to my call, the appointment was set up, and they came on time. The service was nothing like they led us to believe. They used a large dry vac to stuff down the vents. It didn't take care of all the large ducts in the basement, and they never accessed those vents at all.

Description of Work: The technician took apart our dryer vent pipe at a few junctures, stuck in a pipecleaner attached to a cordless drill and freed up the lint, then used a shopvac and sucked it out. Pretty sure I could have done the same thing myself with a smaller investment. The dryer did work much better after I had the service done.

The service professional contacted me and informed me of his approximate arrival time, he was very punctual.
