Our meeting went exceptionally well. I felt very confident in her suggestions. What I found most impressive about Ms. Resnick's approach is that she recognized my desire to decorate in stages i.e., over 1-2 years. She provided me with a path to do so that is within my budget and time constraints.

It went well; I have used Freda before and love the paint colors she picked out; we used them and it made a big difference in how the house looks. I look forward to using the new colors she suggested for our upstairs rooms. She also suggested looked at a few light fixtures at my request and had suggestions for changing them. She's very professional but easy to talk to, and keeps your budget and your style in mind. I would definitely call on her again.

We were all very happy with the results. Freda's discussions of why certain colors did/did not work in the various rooms was especially helpful, allowing us to make more educated selections of paint colors to use. All told, we painted about 16 rooms in three houses. I was repeatedly surprised to find I loved colors on the walls that were "eh" in the samples and gratified to see how great all the rooms turned out.

Freda arrived at the agreed time and braved the mud at our construction site with good grace. We toured the house with the accompaniment of saws and sanders. Since our house was being totally renovated, we started with the kitchen cabinet color. We wanted gray cabinets but were unsure of exactly which shade was best. Freda helped us choose a gray that kept the room bright and a wall color to coordinate. That done, we walked around the house as we discussed our furniture style and colors. We showed her pictures of some favorite artwork that would be in various rooms. We wanted the view from one room to the next to be pleasing and to flow naturally. She thoughtfully looked at each room, noting especially the natural light. Instead of choosing each color as we went from room to room, she put together in her mind a palette of harmonious shades. We then found a quiet spot to look at paint color swatches and discuss the choices. We were amazed how knowledgeable Freda is and are very pleased with our beautiful new colors. As a follow-up, Freda sent large swatches of each color we chose. These can be used when coordinating furniture, window treatments and carpets and will add to our record of the project. Having her advice and guidance in this process made it fun and so easy.

Freda is the absolute master of paint colors. She listens to your interests/color ranges, and then gives several suggestions as to what might work. She provides large square samples of the colors you think you might like. She has an incredible memory for your spaces, so, if she comes to your house once, she can answer questions by email as they come up later. She charges so little, and continues to give additional feedback... one time I had to insist on paying her more so that I would feel OK in continuing to contact her. Other decorators I tried to work with always seemed like they were gouging you. Plus they were boring and conservative- all neutrals. She also gives great advice on how to combine other materials, such as granite, wood etc. In addition, she gave us some informal staging advice when she was at our house consulting on a new house we were building out of town. Her comments were spot on; really helped make the room come together. She is unique and will help you be a little bold on color choices without having to worry that something ends up not quite working because it is a shade or two off. When people come into our house, which we had built new/custom, they invariably are blown away by the colors we used, both inside and outside. She is also a very pleasant, unpretentious person.

Freda was wonderful. She is very knowledgeable and professional. The paint consultation did not take very long, as she could interpret our fragmented likes/dislikes into what we really wanted! It would have taken us hours to figure out all the paint colors on our own, but with her help, we finished in less than 1.5 hours. She also gave helpful tips while walking through the home on potential updates that we could do in the future.

Freda was wonderful. She was knowledgeable, professional, and explained all the pros and cons of each color very well. She also made a number of helpful suggestions for other projects we could do around the house. Well worth it!

Ms.Freda was excellent! We have a 50 years old house to be repainted and redecorated,but I was afraid about wasting money if I painted wrong color. I found Ms.Freda from the Angie’s list according to her had 100% ’A’ s scores. After I contact her,she was very friendly helped me selecting paint color for my living room, dinning room, kitchen, family room, upstairs and downstairs hallways. She also introduced painting, carpentry, blinds companies,and florist store… to us. I have been used Ms.Freda for twice. Right now, my old house became a 'new house'. We really appreciated Ms. Freda did any thing for us, and we really enjoy our ‘new house’. I highly recommend her to my friends.

Freda came to our home and evaluated all of our furnishings and colors. We had a detailed conversation regarding our likes and dislikes. She was able to put together the colors for every room. In addition, Freda met with us at several vendors to select carpet to match our needs. Freda returned to help select kitchen countertops. She is very patient and listens well. We continue to work with her to complete the house and will request she help us with the basement. Freda was also able to recommend many vendors and tradespeople to help us. Freda is excellent.

Freda was outstanding. The best money I have spent so far in redecorating a newly purchased home. She was very timely, asked what brand of paint I preferred to use and ordered paint samples sent directly to my home. We are new to the area and do not know anyone. We have bought an older home that needs a fair amount of cosmetic work. She even gave me referrals for much needed service providers and stores to help us fix up our home. I have used a paint consultant on another home in the past and have always sworn by them. Freda did not let me down.

Freda is a true professional! She certainly knows her stuff and presents herself as being confident, not arrogant. She provided us with various options and explained the pros and cons of each. We asked numerous questions and she answered all of them! We look forward to working with Freda in the months to come as we progress with our renovations.

Ms. Resnick arrived fifteen minutes early for our scheduled 11:00 A.M. appointment. I don't know about others, but I don't like "approximate" times of arrivals when I schedule an appointment with professionals. Not only was she punctual--she was early, and I had no waiting-around time whatsoever. Once she arrived, Ms. Resnick took all the time that I needed to discuss my plans for turning my house more into my home. (It is already a home, but there are quite a few updates needed to make it really "mine".) Ms. Resnick listened patiently to all of my ideas as we walked through the house, gently adding suggestions where needed. I had a couple of ideas that she pointed out to me as not being "cost smart" in terms of getting the most bang out of my buck. We spent two hours discussing planning schemes and color. I asked my sister to join me for my color consultation because she has a much better eye than I, and both of us found Ms. Resnick to be an outstanding consultant. I believe this is only the beginning of a long working relationship, as I have many, many projects that I will be undertaking over the next several years as I make changes to my home. I plan on working with Ms. Resnick every step along the way. I value her opinion and her judgment. Our meeting today was definitely a pleasure.

Decorating spaces consultant Freda Resnick is a paint color expert and was recommended to me by a friend. We needed a neutral paint color for our entry way that would match our color choices for all of the rooms leading off from there. We have a variety of wall colors in our different rooms and I just couldn't find the right color that would provide a pop and match the other colors. Freda found just the right color and offered other suggestions for lighting as well for the paint color for trim and ceiling and other particular features unique to our home. I had also been grappling with a color for our basement rec room which is very large and mirrored but no natural light. I was close but she found the exact color that would lighten the room but match the wooden features in the room and the carpeting.

We had just bought a house and wanted to paint the entire house from basement to the second floor. Originally, we planned to pick colors by ourselves because we'd had no experience with a paint color consultant. After getting overwhelmed, I searched through Angie's List and came upon Freda (based on her wonderful reviews). Her cost per hour seemed reasonable and she seemed extremely willing to work with us over the phone, so we hired her. She provided us with necessary flexibility in setting up an appointment since the sellers were renting back the house from us and we had a lot of schedules to juggle. (She schedules appointments every day of the week!) The 3-hour consultation went well; we were very comfortable working with Freda. And, now that the house is fully painted, we are extremely pleased with the color selections and how the rooms flow. We intend to call Freda again to take advantage of her expert eye for other decorating decisions (e.g., kitchen backsplash)! Without reservation, we recommend using Freda!

Went very well. Freda is responsive, respectful, and knowledgeable. Her suggestions were very helpful. She also gave me contact info for contractors I would need, e.g., electric, painting, blinds.

Freda's service to us was invaluable as we embarked on an almost total renovation of our house due to flooding. With a blank slate, we had numerous decisions to make on paint color, bathroom and kitchen finishes that we felt it was time to call in an expert. Freda guided us effortlessly to make what we feel were the best decisions based on our style and budget. She ordered large scale paint swatches and provided us with a few choices for each room, allowing us to free up our time to focus on other aspects of the project. She is a master at color selection, ensuring that color flows evenly from room to room and provides a united palette. She helped us select our kitchen countertop, accompanied us to the plumbing store to select bathroom fixtures and visited the tile store after we made selections for the bathroom and kitchen backsplash tile to lend her thoughts. In addition to in person meetings, she was always available for a quick phone call or email to lend thoughts to smaller decisions. Freda has great connections within the decorating community and many provide discounts when working with her. We look forward to working with Freda again once the "dust settles" and it is time to purchase new furniture! I recommend her highly and without reservation.

So easy to work with and everything she did for us is just perfect! We really trusted her decisions as to how to rearrange our rooms and how to update our house!

We want to redecorate our home and we want to stop making poor color choices. Through Angie's List we found Freda. She is an adept designer. She patiently listened as I took her through numerous rooms and pointed out our unique needs and objectives. She helped mediate a lighting decision on which my husband and I could not agree. She pointed out things that I had not considered. She helped us obtain paint at a better price than one would typically pay. Freda was so patient, even staying longer to explain color choices to my husband who arrived home just as the conversation was concluding. We loved all of her color choices immediately. She sent me a thorough summary of the agreed colors in each room. She ordered sample sheets for us, and a few days later we received large sheets of each Benjamin Moore paint color so that we could really see the colors in each room. Everything happened just as Freda said it would. She has stayed in touch with me after the initial visit and has our highest recommendation. You will enjoy working with her when you want this kind of service.

Freda was very punctual, professional, and friendly. She left us with some great recommendations and a list of local resources. While we are still making progress to implement everything we want to do, her recommendations so far have been very helpful. Her experience and knowledge with color is evident. And she has always been responsive to our follow up questions/clarifications.

This is an excellent ongoing experience. The home remodeling will likely be finished at the end of summer 2015. Freda is very responsive and provides good guidance in the process of making selections and other decisions. My husband and I both like her recommendations for color and style in the kitchen and other rooms of our home. She has a good set of contractors, professionals and vendors that she has recommended to us. My husband and I have been very impressed at the quality and responsiveness of each professional we have met and worked with. She has coordinated this diverse set of projects smoothly. She provides me with good advice and explanations, and each time I work with her to settle on a choice, such as which tile to use in the kitchen backsplash, I am impressed at how she can bring two people with differing ideas (such as me and my husband) to find a choice that we all think will look outstanding. Freda's knowledge and her enjoyment of her work is inspiring, and I am confident that we will be very pleased with the updated appearance of our home.

Freda was very helpful as she assisted us with the sad task of adding some of my father-in-law's furniture, art and other items to our home after his death. My father-in-law had beautiful things so when he died recently, we wanted to bring some of his things to our house. We had a full house already so we had to make decisions about what to bring and what to get rid of to make room in our home. We also felt very pressured to make these decisions because the rent at his apartment was expensive. Just weeks after his death, Freda visited my father-in-law's apartment and our house. She gently made suggestions about what to move and what to donate or sell. When Freda realized that making decisions about every picture and piece of art was too difficult for my wife, she suggested that we only decide about the furniture to move and bring home the smaller stuff. This was just the right approach for us. On moving day, Freda came to our house and told the movers where the furniture should go. She put together a lovely room with my father-in-law's furniture. She came back later to help identify places for many of the pictures and art we have moved to our home. It was particularly nice that Freda seemed excited about our "new" furniture. We enjoyed working with Freda during a really difficult time on an important task. I am sure we will contact her in the future when we are ready to make other changes to our home. She has a good eye and is easy to work with.

She did a walk-through of the entire house, discussing our likes and dislikes. She asked some questions to get an idea of how we wanted to color the house. She chose colors that would look good in the size and shape of each of the spaces. . She also chose colors that would work well with our existing furniture and artwork. As a follow-up, Freda is sending 8.5 x 11 color samples for each room so that we can actually look at the color on the wall! She had ideas for some additional interior decorating. I intend to call her again to help us remodel the master/mistress bathroom.

Freda was wonderful! She was super helpful and went with us from room to room letting us know what things she thought we should do to decorate our home. She was especially wonderful with colors. We are SO glad we had her come because we couldn't be happier with how things turned out.

Simply put - Freda was amazing!!! I contacted her initially due to all the phenomenal reviews I read from AL and after meeting her face to face, I was blown away with regards to her talent, professionalism, and patience. Our initial conversation lasted 45 minutes as she took the time to really listen to my needs, concerns, and expectations and answered all my questions regarding my project. When we finally met face-to-face, she was well prepared and extremely personable to work with. She showed me all the colors which she carefully selected ahead of time and brought me samples in 8x10 sizes so it was much easier to analyze than the small blocks of color palates offered at paint stores. Additionally, Freda was able to pass on her discount to me by calling the paint store herself and provided them with her account #. She was such a pleasure to work with and I will, without a doubt, definitely contact her again after the renovation is completed on our primary residence.
