At first the contractor was very responsive through FB Marketplace. I sent photos of what needed to be done. I was informed of the hourly rate and travel charge. In attempting to set up the appointment, I then discovered that the travel charge TO the location is because I was outside his comfort zone of travel (19.1 miles from his shop). Then I discovered that I would be charged for his crew to return to his shop on an hourly basis $65 per hour. I would also be charged the dump fee for taking away the plant material PLUS 15%. So essentially, I would be paying for services that could not be monitored such as the weight of the dump and the time it took to return to his shop. I was prepared to pay for the first travel fee, but I think that to pay for travel back on top of a 15% surcharge was extreme. I was looking forward to getting this work done however, I felt that I was being taken advantage of with all the extra fees that a customer has no way of controlling. I gave a grade of D and not an F because they were at least responsive.
