Undoubtedly, the worst experience ever dealing with a contractor! Even before the work was performed, various plants were wilting with browned leaves. On the first day of the job, Daniel actually berated me in a loud voice for calling one of his workers, Jaime, while he and others were busy outside our home. I was shocked by such a display of unprofessional behavior and immediately asked him if he was serious and to told him lower his voice. Immediately thereafter, he left without stating if he would return. Consequently, I requested a refund of my $1,000 deposit and requested he pick up the plants. Two days later, he shows up at my door to finish the job. During the work on this day, I asked Daniel about the plants on one side of our home as the estimate stated eight lirope and eight salvia on both sides. He disagreed and stated that was not correct. I insisted it was correct and offered to show him the e-mail message containing the invoice from his own company. After Daniel located the estimate first, he stated we cannot do that since we originally spoke about grass seeding in that area. Apparently, his own workers do not communicate with him as the estimate clearly stated eight plants on both sides despite our original conversation several weeks before. It is not my responsibility to ensure CSJ employees communicate with one another as requirements changed during the course of two weeks. Moreover, the estimate stated six small cherry laurels and we received only four. To state, it is just an estimate is utterly ridiculous when a ?bait-and-switch? occurs. Nonetheless, I opted for grass seeding in order to complete the job. However, this was extremely unethical and unprofessional as a landscaping contractor who would presumably pride themselves on integrity. He installed the grass seed and remaining plants with some appearing wilted and dead with two days. I sent pictures to Daniel's e-mail and received a response from Jaime stating it was normal. She even promised to send additional pictures of her own plants and never did! Just another example of unprofessional demeanor. After calling Daniel several days later, he replied the plants were alive. Not understanding how Daniel knew, I responded to his e-mail asking how he knew and inquired about how much longer to water the plants. Once again, not even the courtesy of a response to my message! I contacted another landscaper who visited and told me the quality of plants and/or their installation was the cause of the problem. In addition, he provided guidance to help me with their recovery. In conclusion, would highly discourage everyone from using CSJ Lawn Care Services as they are extremely unprofessional and unethical!
