He suggested replacement of chimney crown and installation of new flue due to gap in existing tile. When the estimate was emailed to us later in the day we found the cost prohibitive and have decided to forgo use of the fireplace for the time being.

Arrived at appointed time, cleaned chimney, inspected exterior of both chimneys (one did not need cleaning service), pointed out some cracks in chimney caps, gave estimate for repair of those.

It was all right. They found some other repairs to be done. I thought they were pricey but had him do them anyway.

We purchased the Big Deal, and Chimney Tek was able to schedule us very promptly. When they arrived to do the cleaning, they found that our pellet stove had an odd sized pipe and they needed a different brush - they offered to order the correct brush and reschedule for a later date. We did so, but when they came back they found that part of the venting from our pellet stove had been glued together where it should not have been, and that opening it might damage the vent. They offered to order a replacement for the part and come back when they had it available, but said that the project would be more extensive than what would be covered by the big deal and I should request a refund from Angie's list and contact them if they wanted to go forward. I was dissappointed that they were unable to do the work, but understand why the project would be beyond the Big Deal specifications, and felt they acted with professionalism throughout.

The service experience went well. A tarp was put down on our floor to keep the floor clean. The fireplace was vacuumed and the chimney was swept. The outside was inspected for any issues.

Total cost for all services was less than what one company quoted me just to do the flue work. The initial quote for the repair work presented me with different options, while explaining the pros and cons to each option. Would use again and would recommend.

I contacted Vince of Chimney-Tek. He was able to send someone out quickly to give an estimate on a new chimney liner and stainless steel chimney cap. The estimate was reasonable. The other estimates we had were very high. I was confused on the different lingo used in the chimney business. Vince was very kind and gave me a brief Chimney 101 lesson. We accepted the estimate and Vince was able to schedule the job the same week. Due to a part (the cap) not being delivered on time the job took two trips instead of one. The technician thought they would return the next morning but due to delivery of the cap he came in the afternoon. That was ok since I didn't need to be home for that repair. Zack and Vince (the technicians) were very polite and professional. Did a great job in cleaning up. Waiting for a really hard rain to ensure no more water in the basement. We would use Chimney-Tek again.

I called Chimeny Tek and spoke to Vince. After explaining the problem, he gave me an estimate. Went out to the location the next day and confirmed the price. Ordered the parts and installed everything within a week of the initial phone call.

We are selling our house and the buyer wanted the chimney chase tops replaced with stainless steel ones which are very expensive. We live in Annapolis and had a tough time trying to get someone rather than the one who inspected the chimney to come out this far. Vince, owner of chimney tek, called me back right away and came out within a few days to give me an estimate. I think he actually came out on a Saturday in order to fit me in. He gave me a price about 25 percent less than the other chimney company. He sent the proposal by email - I sent him 1/3 of the payment and he ordered the tops. When one didn't come in as soon as the other he kept me informed every day, even on a Saturday, and as soon as it arrived he installed them. I think he's very hard working but also very respectful of his customers. He communicates with you right away when you email or call..............when the chimney tops were installed he emailed right away to make sure all was well and thanked me for being his customer.I just referred him to my good friend who also has rusty chase tops.............I really enjoyed having him do the work and am so glad we didn't have the other company (the one who inspected our chimney and suggested the work to the buyer) as they did not call me back in a timely manner, did not give me the information I needed to comparison shop, and would have charged 25 percent more even after the buyers paid them 300 dollars for the inspection.Great job!!!

Overall the job went quite well. Vince submitted a good estimate and described in detail all the work to be performed. He responded to any concerns of mine in a very timely manner. His bricklayer and helper were very professional and did quality work. They did an excellent job of matching the new brick & mortar. When the job was completed, the work area was thoroughly cleaned. We had a couple of delays due to other work and weather. The job was completed on time.

the response time was quick. I recieved a return call the day after I placed the origional call. A day and time was set up for the following week for someone to come to the house. The man that did the repair was punctual and curteous.

Overall it was OK. The service was performed and the clean up was satisfactory.

It was difficult to get hold of Vince. I normally got his voicemail when I called (cellphone access only) and even though my msgs asked him to call me on my landline phones either home or work, he always called on my cell phone. I am not allowed to leave my cell phone on at work, which led to alot of unnecessary telephone tag. When we did finally speak, I asked him to repaint the whole chimney with a waterproofing product since it was last done 10 years ago and is apparently now pulling away from the chimney on one side. He said it could be done, gave me a substantially higher estimate by phone. We set a tentative date for the work but one day after setting that date, I found out I could not get off work that day and I contacted him immediately to reschedule. I contacted one more time after that to schedule the service date, and Vince agreed to call me on a certain date with proposed dates. However, he still has not called, so I am moving on to find a more professional company. I do dot recommend Chimney-Tek because in my experience in just getting work scheduled, is they are unprofessional and unreliable.

The owner of the business (Vince) gave me a free estimate and was extremely prompt. The price he quoted was very competitive with others I received. He and his helper were very punctual on the day of service and did the job efficiently and correctly. They were also very careful not to track dirt into my house. Overall I was very pleased and would definitely recommend them.

CHIMNEY-TEK was recommended to me by my trusted plumber who told me he had recommended CHIMNEY-TEK to several of his other clients and had received positive feedback from all of them. Under the theory that good people/companies will lead you to other good people/companies I set up an appointment for an inspection with Mr. Vince Decrisci, the owner of CHIMNEY-TEK. Vince provided me with the appointment time I desired and showed up on time. He determined that my current chimney liner was falling apart and made sure that I saw the damage with my own eyes. Further, I had no chimney cap and the crown wash, which are the bricks at the top of the chimney, were in need of repair as well. Normally I would obtain at least 3 estimates before accepting a proposal, but in this instance I put my trust in my plumber's recommendation and the fact that Vince made a professional impression on me. Vince and I negotiated a price for the above described chimney work and I paid a deposit. As agreed, the work was completed several days later...I believe it took 5 hours to complete the work. Vince explained to me in detail how the work was done and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I would recommend that all Angie's List members at minimum get an estimate from CHIMNEY-TEK before hiring another chimney repair company.
