I went with ChimenyTek after reading the reviews and the reviews were right on target. Vince knows his stuff. He does what he says he will do and goes above and beyond if he sees something that should be corrected when it comes to chimneys.

Vince was great. Inspected and cleaned chimney. Took before, after pix. Resealed area around chimney, which stopped leak into chimney flue.

They showed up on time and performed all work in a professional manner.

Great. Gave estimate on a repair that can be done at a later date.

We were about to install a new roof on our home and wanted to make sure that our chimney didn't need any repair work done before the new roof went on. We live in an older home and were concerned that the chimney may be in need of repair now or in the next few years. At this point the chimney only serves as protection for a pellet stove flue liner that is run through the chimney and therefore we did not want to put any work or money into the chimney unless absolutely necessary. Vince understood our concerns and inspected the chimney thoroughly. He made note of a few items and gave us his considered opinion on the stability of the chimney. This really helped put my mind at ease and we decided to go ahead with the new roof without any repair work on the chimney. I really appreciated the fact that he understood our situation and did not try to sell us on work that was not absolutely necessary at this time. If we are in need of repair work in the future I would be very confident in hiring Chimney Tek for the job. Thanks again Vince.

I found some ash in the fireplace after the cleaning. The maintenance on the mortar was good.

Got an inspection when purchasing our new home. Vince was very thorough and provided a clear inspection report with photos. Opted to have chimneytek do the repairs as well. Vince did everything in his power to make sure we were satisfied. We will recommend chimneytek to our friends and family.

Our tenant forgot they were coming.they waited to see if they would come back and called me to ask what they should do. My tenant apologized and came home. They returned that same day and did not charge us extra. I thought that was very generous of them for something that was clearly our fault. Aside from that, I've had no complaints and no problems with the chimney. This was an Angie's List Big Deal, so it would have cost more without the discount.

They did perform the sweep and inspection. They forgot to bring their camera and they were supposed to take pictures inside the chimney to show the condition. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have the camera. They did say that it was in good shape and that the cap needed a little additional work. I went ahead and let them do the cap work. As far as I know, everything is good.

The first visit didn't go so well, they didn't have the right size ladder to work on my chimney (it's pretty big) so they had to reschedule. The second visit went well; however, upon further inspection it was discovered that our chimney liner only went so far (stopping about six-seven feet below the top). Vince (the owner) provided a very fair priced estimate and continued to stay in contact with me to see whether we would be having them provide the work. Unfortunately, we couldn't afford it at the time so we will have them come out another time hopefully before next winter.

I set up an appointment with the provider. The owner explained that they would inspect the chimneys and clean them, and let me know of any additional recommendations. He asked me questions about my chimney use. The owner came on the date we'd agreed upon. He came inside to look into the chimney on the first floor, went to the basement to look at the chimney down there, then went outside. Then, he said he didn't have a ladder that was long enough to reach my chimney so he'd have to come back another day to do the work. I was stunned. I do not have an unusually high chimney, and whether I do or not, I believe this could have been avoided if the provider had simply driven by my home to check out the property before coming to the appointment. Easier yet, you can look it up on google maps, and you can see the house and the chimney. I would think that someone doing this work would know that in order to do the work, they'd have to come up with a way to determine the size of ladder you need before coming to do the work. This required me to take more time off to set up a second appointment. I didn't like that. The actual work got done. The person who came was thorough and professional. He gave me recommendations about some work that I might look into doing next. Later, I got called several times by the owner telling me that he'd talked with his worker and that there was work I was being "urged" to get for safety reasons. He stated that he wanted to make sure I knew the possible danger. His wording of the urgency of this was different from the worker who did the service. I will likely get this examined, but not by this provider. My experience with having to deal with a second appointment, plus the difference between how the worker explained the additional work as compared to how the owner described it, all has caused me to be unsure. Let me be clear, they did do the work. Also it could be true that this additional work really needs to be done. My dissatisfaction is because of how all of this was handled. I have to trust the service provider in order to want them to do more work, and my trust was not built by the events I described.

I had been told that between the hours of 8:30 and 11:30, Chimney-Tek would arrive. Around 11:10, they arrived. The young man came in and explained everything to me as to what was going to happen and would be done. He and the other fellow worked on putting in the liner and putting the cap on top of the chimney. Then down to the basement to put in new pipes from the furnace to the chimney. They were very efficient and cleaned up any mess that was made. I was impressed with the job they performed.

Very professional, punctual, prices competitive, they arrived on time, finished job in a couple of hours, cleaned up and left no mess.
